Application Form 2018

Candidates have to download and fill their application / admission form from the official website www.khalsacollegeamritsar.org as per schedule. Candidates are advised must ensure their eligibility condition before filling the application form.

A candidate seeking admission to the College must fulfill the following requirements:

  • To fill in all the particulars on the prescribed Admission Form, appended in the Prospectus, in his/her own hand-writing. Incomplete form will be rejected.
  • To bring four latest Passport Size Photographs. One is to be pasted on the Admission Form and the other three photographs are to be pasted on the slips attached with the Admission Form.

Document to be attached

  • Self attested copies of certificates/detailed marks cards of having passed the lower examinations.
  • A copy of the matriculation certificate as a proof of the date of birth .
  • Character certificate from the head of institution last attended as regular student.
  • Students belonging to Scheduled Castes / Tribes / Backward Classes are required to attach a certificate to the effect from the competent authority. Affidavits will not be accepted.

A student from any Indian University (except GNDU) or Board (outside Punjab) seeking admission/migration to the college will be required to attach the following additional documents

  • Inter-University Migration Certificate
  • Eligibility Certificate from Guru Nanak Dev University

M.Phil. Commerce

Masters degree in Commerce with at least 55% marks (6.18 CGPA out of 10) or 50% marks (5.62 CGPA out of 10) for SC/ST candidates of GNDU or equivalent degree of recognized university or allied subject.

M.Phil. Chemistry

Masters degree in Chemistry with at least 55% marks (6.18 CGPA out of 10) or 50% marks(5.62 CGPA out of 10) for SC/ST candidates of GNDU or equivalent degree of recognized university or allied subject.

M.Phil. English

Masters degree in English with at least 55% marks (6.18 CGPA out of 10 ) or 50% marks (5.62 CGPA out of 10) for SC/ST candidates of GNDU or equivalent degree of recognized university or allied subject.

M.Phil. Political Science

Masters degree in Political Science with at least 55% marks (6.18 CGPA out of 10) or 50% marks (5.62 CGPA out of 10) for SC/ST candidates of GNDU or equivalent degree of recognized university or allied subject.

M.Phil. Physics

The candidate having passed M.Sc. (Physics) or M.Sc. (Hons.) Physics Degree (10+2+3+2 system of education) with at least 55% marks from Guru Nanak Dev University or any other examination recognized equivalent there to by the University/college.

M.Phil. Punjabi

Masters degree in Punjabi with at least 55% marks (6.18 CGPA out of 10) or 50% marks (5.62 CGPA out of 10) for SC/ST candidates of GNDU or equivalent degree of recognized university or allied subject.

M.Phil. Zoology

Masters degree in Zoology with at least 55% marks (6.18 CGPA out of 10) or 50% marks (5.62 CGPA out of 10) for SC/ST candidates of GNDU or equivalent degree of recognized university or allied subject.

Master of Arts

Bachelor’s Degree in any faculty with 50% marks in aggregate or 45% marks in the subject concerned or equivalent examination or Master Degree of this or another University in another subject or another faculty

M.A. English

Besides the above criteria for M.A. English, a student who has passed B.A. (Hons. School) in English shall also be eligible.

M.A. Economics

Bachelor degree in any stream with 50% marks in aggregate or graduation (with Economics as a subject) with 45% marks or B.Com with 45% marks in the subject of Economics or B.Sc (Hons. School) in Economics.

M.A. History

Bachelor degree in any stream with 50% marks in aggregate or graduation (with History as a subject) with 45% marks.

MA Political Science

Bachelor degree in any stream with 50% marks in aggregate or graduation or BA with 45% marks in Political Science, Public Administration or Sociology.

MA Punjabi

Bachelor degree in any stream with 50% marks in aggregate.

Master of Commerce

B.Com/BBA/B.CAM/B.E-Commerce with 50% in aggregate or equivalent examination from GNDU or any other recognised University.

M.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture (Agri. Economics)

55% marks in B.Sc. (Agriculture). Priority will be given to a candidate with 60% marks in elective subject (subject to change)

The candidate having passed B.Sc. degree (10+2+3 system of education) with Chemistry as one of the elective subject with at least 50% marks from Guru Nanak Dev University or any other examination recognized equivalent there to by the University

M.Sc. (Hons.) Food Science and Technology

Any candidate who has passed the following examination is eligible for admission in M.Sc. Food Science & Technology (Hons.) Course- Bachelor in Food Science & Technology (Hons.), B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.), B.Sc. Food Science & Quality Control, B.Sc. (Medical), B.Sc. (Non-Medical), B.Sc. (Clinical Nutrition), B.Sc. (Home Science) with 50% marks or any equivalent examination recognised by UGC/University.

Note : candidates with 3 year pass course degree will have to qualify in the pre-requisite courses as prescribed in the syllabi of M.Sc.(Hons.) Food Science & Technology course along with BFST (Hons.) classes as offered in different semesters.

M.Sc. in Computer Science & Information Technology

Graduate with Computer Science / IT Computer Applications / Computer Maintenance as one of the elective subjects with 50% marks in aggregate. OR BCA/B.Sc. (IT)/ BIT or equivalent there to with atleast 50% marks in aggregate. OR Graduate with mathematics as an elective subject and Post-Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications / PG Diploma in Information Tech. / PG Diploma in E-Commerce & Internet Application or equivalent with 50% marks in the aggregate

M.Sc.(Hons.) Mathematics

Eligibility:Candidate who has passed
a) B.A./B.Sc. with 50% marks in aggregate and having Mathematics as one of the subjects or

(c) The admission will be based on the Entrance Test conducted by Khalsa College Amritsar and the marks obtained in 10+2 class

B.Sc. (Bio-Technology)

(a) A candidate who has passed 10+2 (Med./Non-Med.) exammination of PSEB/CBSE/ICSE with 40% marks.
(b) Any other examination recognised as equivalent to the (a) above by the GNDU. (subject to change)

Bachelor of Physiotherapy (4½ years)

(a) A candidate who has passed 10+2 (Medical stream) examination of PSEB/CBSE/ICSE with 50% marks.
(b) Any other examination recognised as equivalent to the (a) above by the GNDU. (subject to change)
(c) Age of the student should be 17 years on 31st December of the year of admission.
(d) The admission will be based on the Entrance Test conducted by Khalsa College Amritsar and the marks obtained in 10+2 class.

B.Sc. Medical and B.Sc. Non-Medical

A candidate who has passed 10+2 Science examination from recognised board or any other examination considered as equivalent there to by the GNDU with 40% marks is eligible to apply. (Subject to change)

Bachelor of Computer Applications

A student who has passed 10+2 examination from a recognized board in science group or any other examination considered as equivalent there to by G.N.D.U. with 40% marks is eligible to apply.

B. Sc. Computer Science

A student who has passed 10+2 examination from a recognised board in sciences group or any other examination considered as equivalent there to by G.N.D.U. with 40% marks is eligible to apply (Subject to change)

B.Sc. (Information Technology)

10+2 with 40% marks in aggregate or equivalent examination is eligible to apply

Bachelor of Multimedia (Semester System)

(a) The candidate must have passed Senior Secondary Part-II (12th Class) Examination of Punjab School Education Board with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. OR (b) Any other examination with 45% marks in aggregate recognized as equivalent to (a) above by the G.N.D.U

Bachelor in Internet and Mobile Technologies (Four Years Degree Course)

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and B.Sc. (Economics)

10+2 with 40% marks in aggregate or equivalent examination. (Subject to change)

Rules for Eligibility for Final Examination

The student has to secure minimum marks as stated below in the House Test to make him/her eligible for final examination.

Graduate Classes (Arts, Commerce, Science)

35% marks in each subject in the house examination OR 25% marks in aggregate in-house examination held by the college.

Post Graduate Classes

25 % marks in each written paper in the house examination and 25 % marks in the seminar work. or 35 % marks in the aggregate of written papers and seminar.

Note : Attendance in the House Tests conducted by the College is compulsory. Any student who fails to appear in the tests will not qualify for the final examination

A student is admitted to the final Examination only when he/she fulfils the above mentioned conditions and his/her form is accompanied by the following certificate by the Registrar of the college.

  • That the student of Under Graduate Classes (Arts, Commerce, Science) has attended at least 75% of the full course of lectures in theory and practical separately, delivered to his/her class in each subject offered by him/her.
  • That the student of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture Classes, B.Sc. (Hons.) Food Sci. & Tech., M.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture has attended not less than 80% of the full course of lectures in theory and practicals separately delivered to his/her class (as required by G.N.D.U. calendar) in subjects offered by him/her.
  • That the student of Post Graduate Classes has attended 75 % of the full course of lectures in theory and practicals separately, delivered to his class in each subject/paper offered by him/her.

Note : The student falling short of above stated required attendance shall not be eligible to appear in the final examination.
