VIT has published an important notice on VITEEE 2020 with regards to the COVID-19 situation. The university has clarified where and how they will inform students if exam date is postponed or the slot booking is impacted. On the last date of registration for the VITEEE 2020 exam, candidates’ queries on the coronavirus situation impacting the VIT Engineering Entrance Exam has been addressed.
There are only 20 Institutions of Eminence in India. Of them, VIT is one. The Vellore Institute of Technology, aka VIT, offers engineering programs at its Vellore, Chennai, AP, Bhopal campuses. For the purpose of admission in all of them, the VIT Engineering Entrance Exam that is VITEEE 2020 is being conducted. And the last date to apply for VITEEE 2020 is today, that is March 22, 2020.

Will VIT Extend The Last Date To Apply for VITEEE 2020?
It is relevant to note that the date of March 22, 2020 is already the extended date. Previously, the deadline to apply was February 29, 2020. As of now there is no information from the university end with regards to extension in date. Therefore those who wish to study engineering at VIT may apply at the earliest.

VIT says “The Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation is being monitored closely. Any change in slot booking & VITEEE-2020 schedule will be posted in Website and informed individually through SMS/ email. ”

Last date to apply: 22nd March 2020
Slot booking: 3rd week of March 2020 >> This could be affected due to COVID-19
Exam dates: 13th to 19th April 2020 >> This could be affected due to COVID-19
Result announcement: 30th April 2020 >> This could be affected due to COVID-19
Counselling: 2nd or 3rd week of May 2020 >> This could be affected due to COVID-19
Commencement of classes: 2nd week of July 2020 >> This could be affected due to COVID-19
No Impact Of Coronavirus Outbreak Expected On Registrations
Applying for VITEEE 2020 is a completely online process. There is no involvement of asking students to go anywhere to submit forms or documents. Even support and query handling of students is online (you can click in the queries button at bottom right corner of the page to access a live chat).
Therefore, registrations will neither stop nor be affected by the deadly pandemic gripping the nation. Though understandably, the rest of the events that require candidates to go to a place will get affected.
All You Need To Know About VITEEE 2020
VITEEE 2020 will be a computer based test. There will be multiple choice questions in the exam. There will be the following break up of questions and marks in the exam.
Exam duration is 2.5 hours.
There is no negative marking in VITEEE.
