Candidates seeking admission to various courses at Management Development Institute, Gurgaon can fill their Application online from the official website www.mdi.ac.in as per schedule mention below. Candidates who have appeared for the CAT (2018) will be shortlisted on the basis of the details filled in the application form and their CAT scores.

Application Form 2019

Applicants had to apply online by visiting MDI website https://www.mdi.ac.in. They can click on the programme they wish to apply for and follow the instructions given on the website. Online registration was open until January 15, 2019, 17:00 hrs. Candidates have to make an online payment of Rs 3000/-(Incl. of 18% GST) using Credit/Debit card/Net Banking. Applicants have to fill a single application form. The preferences of PGPM/PGP-HRM/PGP-IM will be taken only from the shortlisted candidates in the month of January/ February 2019. The shortlisted candidates have to login at MDI website and enter their order of preference for PGPM/PGP-HRM/PGP-IM. Preferences once filled will not be changed at any stage later on.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates must have 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in both X and XII. The candidate must have minimum 3 year’s Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from any University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. Candidates appearing for the final examination for the Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent examination) and completing all requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s degree by 30th June, 2018 can also apply, subject to furnishing evidence to that effect latest by 1st October, 2018; otherwise they may be asked to withdraw from the programme.
  • For PGP-IM, on successful completion of the programme requirements, student will be awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Management , PGP-IM and a MBA in International Management / MIM (Masters in International Management) from ESCP Europe. For PGP-IM, MDI and MBA in International management (ESCP Europe): Candidates must have 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in both X and XII along with Masters or Bachelors (4 years minimum with non -business education of background) with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from any University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. and Minimum of 2 years of work experience post qualification as on December 31, 2018.
  • For PGP-IM, MDI and Masters in International management-MIM (ESCP Europe), Candidates must have 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in both X and XII along with Masters or Bachelors (4 years minimum with non -business education of background)) with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from any University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The minimum of 2 years of work experience post qualification as on December 31, 2017 is NOT applicable for PGP-IM and MIM degree of ESCP Europe.
  • The basis for computing the percentage obtained by the candidate would be based on the practice followed by the university/ institution/board from where the candidate has obtained the degree/certificate. In case of the candidates being awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the university/ institution/board from where they have obtained bachelor’s degree/certificate. In case the university/ institution /board does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by MDI by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying fraction so obtained by 100.

Corrigendum regarding revised information on PGP-IM programme

For prospective students of the PGP-International Management Programme (PGP-IM), it is hereby informed that MDI, Gurgaon, is in the process of entering into an understanding with its European partner, ESCP-Europe, wherein all PGP-IM students will be admitted to the Masters in International Management Programme (MIM) of ESCP-Europe. This understanding between ESCP-Europe and MDI, as and when formalized, will result in all PGP-IM students joining the MIM Programme of ESCP-Europe. In such a case, there will be no PGP-IM student who will join the MBA (International Management) Programme of ESCP-Europe as announced in the Information Brochure, 2018.

The qualifying requirements for the MIM Programme are mentioned in the MDI Information Brochure, 2018. As already stated in the brochure there is no prior work experience requirement for the MIM Programme.

The maximum number of students for PGP-IM, 2018-20 would be forty-five.

Selection Process

The admission to MDI Gurgaon PGP Programmes is carried out in two stages:

  1. Short Listing: Candidates who have appeared for the CAT (2018) will be shortlisted on the basis of the details filled in the application form and their CAT-2018 percentiles including sectional cut offs. The minimum CAT cut-off percentile is decided based on the number of candidates to be shortlisted. The number of candidates to be shortlisted is decided as per the admissions policy of MDI Gurgaon.
  2. (WAT-GD-PI): The shortlisted candidates will go through the following process:
    1. Written Analysis Test (WAT): Candidates have to submit a written analysis of the topic
      provided. The evaluation of WAT is done on two parameters (1) Analysis & Conceptual Clarity
      and (2) Grammar, Spelling & Presentation.
    2. Group Discussion (GD): Candidates have to discuss a particular topic in group discussion. The
      evaluation of GD is on two parameters: (1) Group Behavior (2) Content and Subject matter.
    3. Personal Interview: Thereafter candidates have to appear for personal interview. The
      evaluation is done on three parameters: (1) Communication (2) Analytical Ability and (3)Personality Profile.

Foreign/NRI/PIO Applicants

Foreign/NRI/PIO applicants can be considered for admission on the basis of their valid GMAT scores (taken not before Sunday, 1st January 2018 and not later than Monday, 23 November 2018). Applicants have to apply online by visiting MDI website https://www.mdi.ac.in. They can click on the programme they wish to apply for and follow the instructions given on the website. Online registration for Foreign/NRI/PIO Applicants will be Open till Friday, November 23, 2018, 17:00 hrs.

Candidates have to register for MDI Programme at GMAT website at the time of taking GMAT Examination. Applicants shortlisted on the basis of their GMAT score will be interviewed by MDI. NRI Applicants who are residing in India during the period of admission process i.e. July-December, 2018 will have to appear for the CAT and will not be considered for admission on the basis of their valid GMAT scores. Government of India (GOI) rules will be followed related to admission of these categories of candidates. GOI guidelines will be applicable in determining the NRI status of applicants. Candidates have to make an online payment of Rs 8496/- (Incl of 18% GST) using Credit/Debit card/Net Banking.
