Another state level entrance test of the Maharashtra has been postponed. State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra has delayed the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) 2020. The CET was initially scheduled from April 13 to 23, 2020, but now it will be held on new exam dates. The dates will be announced soon. CET cell has requested the candidates to visit website mahacet.org for the regular updates.
The notice does not state whether the change of dates is due to COVID-19. However, given the situation in the state and the nation, it can be said that the CET has been postponed due to novel coronavirus pandemics. Also, a 21 days nationwide lock down has been announced by PM Narendra Modi from the midnight of March 24, 2020.
The notice published by Commissioner & Competent Authority State CET Cell, Mumbai, reads: “MHT-CET 2020, which was scheduled from 13th April 2020 – 23rd April 2020 has been postponed till further orders. Kindly visit website (www.mahacet.org) for the regular updates and notices.”

Steps Taken by Maharashtra State CET Cell For COVID-19
the notice might not mention that the postponement of MHT CET 2020 is due to COVID-19. However, there is another notice on the website for the students regarding Pandemic of Coronavirus (Covid-19).

MHT CET 2020
MHT CET 2020 is a state level entrance test for admission in the B.E / B.Tech, B.Pharm / Pharm.D, B.Sc. etc. UG agriculture and technical education courses. The exam will be held in the online mode. The examination is for the candidates who have passed or will pass 10+2 in 2020.
Now that the exam date of MHT CET 2020 has been postponed, the admit card to the registered candidates might also not be issued as per the scheduled date that is April 05, 2020. Until the new dates come out, the dates of MHT CET 2020 admit card download also remains uncertain.
A brief on the MHT CET 2020 exam pattern
The exam will have 2 groups:
- Group I (PCM) – There are total 150 questions of 200 marks
- Group II (PCB) – There are total 200 questions of 200 marks
The candidates who wish to take admission in engineering and technology courses have to appear for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics i.e in the PCM group. On the other hand, candidates who wish to take admission to Pharm.D courses have to appear for Physics, Chemistry as well as Mathematics and/or Biology i.e. PCB / PCMB.
All the questions in the exam will be MCQ type and the questions will be English, Marathi and Urdu language.
