Understanding the NIIT University Admission Process 2018

  • Next, the candidates are called for the Admission Interaction Process (AIP)

What happens during NIIT Admission 2018 Interaction Process (AIP)?

The admission process of NIIT University is known as the Admission Interaction Process (AIP). Those who successfully complete the online application form are informed about the AIP and then they have to follow the following steps in the AIP.

  • During the AIP students are given a questionnaire stating students’ aspiration and reasons for choosing engineering as a career option.
  • Applicants appear in NUET (if needed) and they are tested on the questions based on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology.
  • Next selected candidates are called for counselling and personal interactions.

Note: NU offers admission for the Bachelors and Integrated Masters Programmes via two modes:

  1. Early Admission Mode (EAD): NU offers Early Admissions to students appearing for their Class 12 Board Examinations in March-April 2018 as also to those who have taken their Class 12 Board examination not earlier than March 2016.
  2. Regular Admission Mode (RAD): NU offers admission into its prestigious Bachelor’s and Integrated Master Programmes under Regular Admission Mode (RAD) for eligible applicants who have appeared in Class 12 Board Examinations in March/April 2018 or have successfully completed Class 12 in March 2016 or 2017.

Q: Is NU recognised?

A: Yes, NIIT University is a State University of the Government of Rajasthan, established by – The NIIT University, Neemrana (Alwar) Act, 2010 (Act No. 5 of 2010) dated 3rd April 2010. State Universities are covered under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act.

Q: Does NU have AICTE approval?

A: AICTE approval is not required for a University. NIIT University is created by the State Government and has been notified through an Act of the Government of Rajasthan. It is a legally approved autonomous entity.

Q: What is the student-faculty ratio at NU?

A: In Engineering, it is 11.85 students per faculty and in Management, it is 10.58 students per faculty.

Below is the eligibility criteria programme wise. Thus, candidates desired to apply for any of the following programmes must go through the eligibility criteria as given below:

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Programmes:

  • Minimum 60% marks are needed in class 10 and class 12.
  • For class 10 compulsory subjects needed are English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. The fifth subject can indicative as per applicant’s choice. The board can be CBSE / ICSE / any other board in India or an equivalent board if from a country outside India.
  • For class 12 compulsory subjects are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB) & English. The fifth subject can be indicative as per applicant’s choice. The board can be any recognized board in India or an equivalent board if from a country outside India. In case of ISC board, if an applicant has taken four subjects, the aggregate of four subjects will be considered.
  • ≥60% marks in PCM in Class XII if opting for CSE or ECE streams, ≥60% marks in PCB or PCM or PCMB in Class XII if choosing BT and ≥60% marks in PCB in Class XII, if opting for Integrated MSc CS.
  • Should be appearing in the board examination in March/April 2018 or should have the necessary mark sheets if you have appeared in 2016 or 2017.
