Cut Off Marks For NIMHANS

For the phase 1, the candidates need to obtain minimum qualifying marks in order to pass the test. The candidates need to score equal to or more than the cut off percentage in order to be declared as “Qualified”. The cut off marks required to qualify the test is as follows:

Tie Breaker Criteria

In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in the entrance test, their inter-se merit will be determined as per the rules given in the following order:

  1. The number of attempts in the qualifying exam.
  2. If the number of attempts is same, then the candidates securing higher marks in the qualifying exam will get a higher place in merit.
    • In case of non-medical courses, NIMHANS will consider marks of all the years/semesters of the qualifying examination.
    • Whereas in case of medical courses, the institute will consider marks of the qualifying examination Final year Part II of MBBS or final year MD/MS (if available).
  3. If marks are also same, then, the age of the candidate becomes important. The candidate older in age will get a higher rank.
  4. If the tie still does not resolve, the candidate with the lesser number of negative marks in the Qualifying exam will get a higher rank.

NIMHANS Entrance Exam 2018 Selection Criteria

The candidates will be shortlisted for admission in PG, Super-speciality, and Ph.D. Courses on the basis of the merit in the entrance test. The qualifiers of the entrance exam will then have to appear for Counselling (Interview in case of Ph.D. candidates).

NIMHANS 2018 Counselling

After the entrance exam is over, the candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the merit. The shortlisted candidates will then be eligible to appear for Counselling. The list of selected candidates will be announced both on the website and the notice board of the Institute with the details of venue, date and time of counselling. The counselling procedure to be followed is as follows:

  1. Biometric Verification
  2. Document Verification
  3. Counselling
  4. Allotment of Seat
  5. The willingness of the Candidate

Biometric Verification – The candidates who will attend the counselling will have to do Biometric Verification both finger print and photo verification. It is mandatory that the candidates need to be physically present for the counseling.

Verification of Documents – After the Biometric Verification process is over, the selected candidates need to produce original certificates/documents for verification.

Counselling – The qualifiers of the Biometric Verification and Certificates Verification, will be then attend cCounseling in the order of merit under the particular course. The selected candidates will then have to appear before a Selection Committee during this stage. The Selection Committee will then allot a seat.

Willingness of the Candidate – If the candidate accepts the seat allotted to him/her, then the candidate need to submit the registration fee of Rs. 1,000/- using Credit Card/ Debit Card and submit the original documents. However, in case if the candidate does not accept the seat, he/she needs to exit the counselling procedure. The institute will add their names in waiting list.
