2nd GD/PI Notice

Those applicants, who were selected for the GD and PI round, but could not attend the same due to any reason thereof, may report at the venue as per details stated below for the GD and PI:

Venue: School of Management [2nd floor, Biomedical Building]
Time: 09:00 AM, April 18, 2018 (Wednesday)

If the GD/Interview does not complete on the same day it may go to the next day i.e. 19th April, 2018. Applicants are advised to book their return tickets accordingly.

Applicants are required to produce the following documents:-

  • Signed copy of the application form submitted online
  • Pass Certificate of High School Certificate Examination / Equivalent Examination for proof of date of birth
  • Certificate of any national or international reputed test scores [if any]
  • Memorandum of Marks of all Examination starting from HSC onwards till date [whichever available]
  • Recent Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe/ Physically Handicapped / OBC certificate (eligibili ty as per declaration by GOI) for claiming reservation. OBC/PH certificates should have been issued on or after 01/01/2018.

Note: Those who have already attended the GD and PI round on March 28, 2018, need not attend again.

Application Form

Interested candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria may submit online application from the official website of NIT Rourkela. Applicants are advised to read the instructions before fill up the online application form. The direct link to apply has also been provided below.

Application fee: Candidates have to pay Rs. 500/- online in the application portal.

Note: Applicants are not required to send hard copy of the application form or any other document to NIT Rourkela. However, candidates who will be called for interview will be required to submit signed copy of the application form and a set of Xerox copies of all certificates to the HOD on reporting day of the interview. They also need to produce original certificates from HSC onwards for verification to the Academic Office at the time of admission.

Eligibility Criteria

The minimum eligibility criterion is B. Tech. or B.E. or B. Arch. (with mathematics as one of the subjects in Class XII), or four year degree programme leading to B. Sc. Engineering (with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the UG programme), or four year degree programme leading to Bachelor of Science degree (with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the UG programme), or Master of Science ( with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the UG programme), or Master of Arts in Economics (with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the UG Programme) with aggregate of 65% or a CPI of 6.5 on a scale of 10 from any AICTE recognised Institute/University, IITs, NITs, and IIITs.

Selection Process

Applicants satisfying minimum eligibility criteria will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. If the number of applicants will be reasonably high, department may set a higher score in academic career as the minimum qualifying criteria to be called for interview. Final selection will be based on Group Discussion, Personal Interview conducted by the Institute, academic career and score of reputed national or international tests for admission to Business Schools as per following weightage:

Qualifying mark for merit list: 200 (50% of total marks) irrespective of category

Note: The candidates appearing final semester examination may also apply for the above course. However, they have to produce their mark/grade sheet showing 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 (as the case may be) in aggregate latest by 30th September 2018 failing which their admission will stand cancelled. Such students, at the time of admission, must produce a certificate signed by the Principal or Registrar of the College last attended stating that all examinations including practical necessary for award of the degree have been completed in order to be eligible for admission in the prescribed format, to be uploaded along with the selection list. OBC & PH category students are advised to submit the respective Annexures available in the application portal.

Fee Structure


A student admitted to the said programme shall be required to pay at the time of joining and also in subsequent semesters, the prevalent tuition fee and other fees as prescribed by the Institute till he/she is on roll including the period beyond the normal duration. There is no discount in fees for a reduced academic load. Normally the fee structure will not change during the programme; but if the Institute revises the fee structure in the middle of a programme, a student is obliged to comply. The fee structure is given in the above table. Tuition fee and all other fees except the one time fees will be collected in two equal installments during semester registration.
