Karnataka Examinations Authority conducted physics and chemistry exams of KCET 2018 today. On April 19, 2018, physics exam was held from 10:30 AM to 11:50 AM. After that chemistry papers was organized from 2:30 PM to 3:50 PM.
Both papers were of 60 marks each. The papers did not have any negative marking. An appreciable number of candidates appeared for both exams. As per reports, more than 80% of the registered candidates appeared.
KEA has concluded KCET 2018 physics and chemistry exams today. Their answer keys, solutions and analysis are now published online.
Candidates can now check Answer Keys of KCET 2018 and question papers, solutions for both physics and chemistry sets A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H.
The physics paper, as per analysis of the exam, was within prescribed syllabus of I and II PU. There were 16 questions from I PU and 44 questions were from II PU. An interesting observation made in regards to the paper was that there were 50% numericals, which is more than last year. Experts have put forth their opinion that a well prepared student can score more than 80% in KCET 2018 physics.
The chemistry paper too did not hold any surprises. However chemistry is a subject that can be tricky for some. It had an even distribution among organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry questions. Those who had solved past year papers of Karnataka CET can have attempted the paper well.

This year Karnataka CET was held a little early due to upcoming elections. Last year the exams were held on May 2 and 3 and result was announced on May 30. Going by that timeline, this time KCET 2018 result could be announced earlier, in mid of April only.

KEA has not specified any date or time for publication of results. It can be announced any time. However prior to declaring results, KEA will release answer keys. The complete process of conducting exams to admissions are fair and transparent. Thus, official keys are also published to convey correct answers to test takers.

After the result is announced, KEA will hold counselling and document verification. Document verification will be either in May or June. Schedule for counselling will be announced once results are out.
