OUCET 2017

The following are the general rules, regulations and instructions to the candidates appearing for the common entrance tests for admission into various courses offered by Osmania, Telangana, Mahatma Gandhi and Palamuru Universities in their campus, constituent and affiliated colleges. Admissions to various courses are made on the basis of entrance test conducted for that purpose. The detailed Schedule of common entrance tests will be made available in websites, www.ouadmissions.com or www.osmania.ac.in at least one week before the commencement of entrance tests. The same will also be displayed on the notice board of the Directorate of Admissions, OU.

OUCET 2017 Option Registration

It is hereby informed that the exercising of web options for all the qualified candidates of OUCET-2017 will be open from 16.09.2017 to 18.09.2017 by 4 pm. All the candidates have to exercise their web options freshly for possible sliding and for new admissions. The detailed notification and related instructions will be made available in the website, www.ouadmissions.com. Candidates are advised to go through these instructions carefully.

Note:- The list of provisionally allotted candidates will be available on 19.09.2017 after 8 pm. The schedule for certificate verification/sliding of allotted candidates will be available along with the allotment.

OUCET 2017 Courses & Eligibility Criteria

Allotment List – Phase II

Osmania University has published the Allotment list for Phase-II After certificate verification purpose. Candidates can check the allotment list by logging in using their Hall ticket no & D.O.B also College and Subject wise allotment list can also be check through the link given below.

Certificate Verification – 1st Phase

All the candidates are hereby informed that the 1st Phase Certificate Verification of the candidates, who are provisionally allotted for admission into different PG courses in different colleges for the academic year 2017-18 through web based allotment process, is to be conducted from 26.07.2017. The day wise and subject wise schedules of certificate verification and related instructions is given below.

The PH Quota admissions will be held from 02.08.2017. The NIQ & CAP admissions will be held on 03.08.2017. Further, the NCC/NSS/Sports Quota certificate verification and admissions will commence from 05.08.2017.

Candidates should note that the certificate verification is only for those candidates who are provisionally allotted an admission through web based allotment process.

Note: Without attending the certificate verification, the candidate’s admission into a course will not be entertained and his/her allotment will be deemed to be cancelled.

Web Counselling

All the candidates, who have qualified in Osmania University Common Entrance Tests – 2017 for admission into various P.G. courses offered by Osmania,Telangana, Mahatma Gandhi and Palamuru Universities in their campus,constituent and affiliated colleges, are hereby informed that the Online Registration Process and Exercising of Web Options for all eligible candidates is open from 13 Jul 2017 to 16 Jul 2017.

Once the process of exercising of web options is over, a provisional allotment list of candidates for possible admission into various courses in various colleges will be generated through web based counseling. After this, only those candidates, who are in the provisional allotment list, will be called for certificate verification for the purpose of final allotment of the admission. If any of these candidates are not fulfilling the eligibility conditions or in the event of any wrong claims, their admission will be rejected.

OUCET 2017 Answer key

All the candidates who have appeared in OUCET – 2017 entrance tests are hereby informed that the preliminary answer keys corresponding to subjects to which entrance tests were conducted are available in the websites, www.osmania.ac.in and www.ouadmissions.com. All the candidates who appeared in OUCET – 2017 entrance test can check the answer key from OUCET official website or through the link given below.

Note – The candidates are advised to go through the keys and in case of any objections, they may be submitted in writing, with supporting material if possible, to the Director, Directorate of Admissions, Osmania University on or before 24.06.2017 by 4.00 pm.


Local and Non-Local Candidates

  • Admission to 85% of the available seats in every course shall be reserved in favour of the local candidates in relation to the local area in respect of O.U. subject to community and other reservations in force.
  • The remaining 15% of the seats which are open to local and non-locals shall be filled up subject to similar reservation as applicable to 85% local candidates.

S.C., ST. and B.C. candidates

Of the total number of seats available in each subject/course, following is the schedule of reservation of seats for these categories.

  • Schedules Caste – 15 percent
  • Scheduled Tribe – 6 percent
  • Backward Class
    • Group A – 7 percent
    • Group B – 10 percent
    • Group C – 1 percent
    • Group D – 7 percent
    • Group E – 4 percent (subject to court decision)

Admission Procedure

The eligible candidates will be admitted to various courses through the process of web based counselling. The qualified candidates desirous of seeking admission have to exercise options through web upon which the provisional allotment of admissions to qualified candidates will be made through a process of web based counselling. Those candidates who are allotted a provisional admission will have to attend for certificate verification in person along with the following original certificates and two sets of xerox copies.

  • Common Entrance Test Rank Card.
  • Common Entrance Test Hall Ticket.
  • Transfer certificate (T.C.) from the Institution where the candidate studied last.
  • Original Certificate (or provisional certificate if the original is not yet issued as per rules) of the qualifying examination.
  • Consolidated Memorandum of Marks of the qualifying examination.
  • Secondary School Certificate (S.S.C.) / 10th std. certificate.
  • Proof of Local/Non-Local status of the candidates according to rules in force
  • Community Certificate for SC, ST and BC candidates as per G.O. Ms.No. 58, Social Welfare (J) Dept, dated 12.5.1997 issued by MRO / Thasildar.
  • Income certificate from relevant authority wherever necessary issued by MRO/Thasildar on or after 01.01.2017.
  • Relevant original certificates in respect of candidates seeking admission against NCC/NSS/Sports, Widow/Children of Armed personnel (CAP), Physically Handicapped and Teacher and Laboratory Assistant categories.

After the verification of certificates, the eligible candidates are required to submit all relevant certificates and pay the required fee on the spot. If a candidate, who is already admitted under General/BC/SC/ST Category, desires to seek admission under supernumerary category (NCC/NSS/Sports/CAP/Physically Handicapped) to derive any advantage in terms of college/course allotment, he/she should attend the concerned counselling session provided the candidate is eligible for admission under supernumerary category.
