Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences was given a status of Deemed University from 29th September, 2003 by Human Resource Development Ministry, Govt. of India. The infrastructure developed at the University Campus provides an opportunity to the meritorious students to become, appropriate and need based health providers in their own environment.

The Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences – Deemed University at present offers various under graduate , post graduate and Diploma level programs, such as MBBS, MD, MS, M.Sc.,BDS, BPT, M.D.S. etc.

Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Admission 2019

The infrastructure developed at the University Campus provides an opportunity to the meritorious students to become, appropriate and need based health providers in their own environment. Admissions in UG and PG courses candidates need to clear NEET and AICET .

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Postgraduate and Undergraduate program candidates need to  ensure eligibility for the courses they are going to apply. To check the criteria candidates can see it from the below:

BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy)

  • Candidate must have Indian Nationality and passed qualifying examination i.e. HSC (or equivalent) examination with the subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
  • The candidates who are appearing for qualifying examination i.e.HSC (or equivalent ) in February/ March 2019 are eligible to appear for PIMS-AICET-2019, however they must fulfill the eligibility condition at the time of counseling.

B.Sc. Nursing

  • Candidate must be Indian National and passed qualifying examination i.e. HSC or 10+2 (or other equivalent board AISSCE/ CBSE/ ICSE/ SSCE/ HSCE ) examination with the subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English indiviually. Students appearing in 10+2 examination in science conducted by National Institute of open school.
  • Minimum Education – 10+2 passed with science (PCB) & English Core/ English Elective individually with aggregate of 45% Marks taken together in PCB at the qualifying exam. · Candidate belonging to general category must have obtained a minimum 45% marks in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English individually at the HSC ( or equivalent) examination.
  • Candidate belonging to SC/ST/NT/OBC category must have obtained a minimum 40% marks in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English individually at the HSC ( or equivalent) examination.
  • Minimum and Maximum age for admission will be 17 & 35 years respectively .

MPT (Physiotherapy)

  • Candidate must be Indian National.
  • Candidate seeking admission to postgraduate Physiotherapy course should hold BPT. degree of recognized University.
  • A candidate who has completed 6 months compulsory rotating internship or likely to complete before prescribed date can appear for PIMS-AICET-ASPG.
  • All such candidates will have to submit the documentary proof, from the Principal / Dean of the college regarding the likely date of completion of internship along with the manual application form, failing which the application shall be rejected.
  • A candidate should have obtained registration with AIP or any State Council. If candidate does not have such registration , he should obtain the same within one month from the date of his/her admission.

M.B.B.S/BDS

  • The nationality certificate issued by the District Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate / Chief Metropolitan Magistrate or a valid passport will be considered as a proof of Nationality.
  • Candidate must have passed qualifying examination i.e. HSC (or equivalent) examination with the subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
  • Candidate belonging to general category must have passed in the subjects of Physics,Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC ( or equivalent) examination.
  • Candidate belonging to backward classes must have passed in the subjects of Physics,Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) examination.
  • Candidate should be either of 17 years of age on or attain this age as on 31st December of the Academic year in which admission is sought.
  • The candidates who are appearing for qualifying examination i.e. HSC (or equivalent) in February/March of the respective academic year are eligible to appear for entrance examination, however they must fulfill the eligibility condition at the time of counseling.
  • Candidate belonging to general category should obtain minimum 50% marks in CET (Common Entrance Test) conducted by this Deemed University. However, admission will be on the basis of merit.
  • Candidate belonging to backward classes should obtain minimum 40% marks in CET (Common Entrance Test) conducted by this Deemed University. However, admission will be on the basis of merit.
  • Candidates studied (qualifying examination) under foreign system in India, are required to obtain equivalence certificate from AIU.

MDS

  • Candidate seeking admission to postgraduate Dentistry course should hold BDS degree of recognized University by DCI.
  • A candidate who has completed one year compulsory rotating internship or is likely to complete the same on or before 30th April of respective academic year can appear for AICET.
  • All such candidates will have to submit the documentary proof, from the Principal/ Dean of the college regarding the likely date of completion of internship along with the manual application form, failing which the application shall be rejected.
  • A candidate should have obtained permanent registration with DCI or any state council. If candidate does not have such registration , he should obtain the same within one month from the date of his/her admission.
  • Candidates previously admitted to PG degree course and resigned/left the seat are not eligible for appearing at AICET.
  • Candidate should be appeared for the AICET Examination conducted by this University and should get minimum 50% marks. However, admission will be on the basis of merit.

MD/MS

  • Candidate seeking admission to postgraduate Medicine/Dentistry course should hold MBBS /BDS degree of recognized University by MCI/DCI.
  • A candidate who has completed one year compulsory rotating internship or is likely to complete the same on or before 30th April of respective academic year can appear for AICET.
  • All such candidates will have to submit the documentary proof, from the Principal/ Dean of the college regarding the likely date of completion of internship along with the manual application form, failing which the application shall be rejected.
  • A candidate should have obtained permanent registration with MCI/DCI (as the case may be) or any state council. If candidate does not have such registration , he should obtain the same within one month from the date of his/her admission.
  • Candidates who are previously registered and pursuing/completed the PG degree course or have obtained PG degree, are not eligible for appearing at AICET.
  • Candidates previously admitted to PG degree course and resigned/left the seat are not eligible for appearing at AICET.
  • Candidate who have completed Medicine postgraduate diploma course or would be completing by 31st March respective academic year will be eligible for AICET for admission to postgraduate degree in the same subject only.
  • Candidate should be appeared for the AICET Examination conducted by this University and should get minimum 50% marks. However, admission will be on the basis of merit.

Admission Process

The candidates need to follow the admission process so that they the aspirants can get admission in the Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences for the session 2019. To apply the applicants can visit the official website . The applicant will be selected on the basis of the performance. The candidate need to score minimum % of marks fixed through the conducting body. The qualified student’s name will be display in the merit list and they will be called for the counselling  procedure .

On the basis of NEET

Admission to all Medical/Dental Undergraduate and postgraduate program will be on the basis of performance in the NEET. The university will give admission in UG – MBBS, BDS , PG – MD/MS/MDS on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the NEET 2019.

On the basis of AICET

All india common entrance  test (AICET) 2019 will be conducted by the university for  PG (M.SC and MPT) , UG (B.Sc Nursing and BPT) courses . Candidates need to appear for the exam in order to reserve a seat for themselves.

Seat distribution in Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses

General Category : 85 % seats of each course are in this category. The admission to this category will be made on the basis of interse- merit of the candidates at AICET .

FN (Foreign Nationals) / PIO(Persons of Indian Origin) / NRI(Non-Resident Indians) Category : 15 % seats of each course are allocated in this category.

Distribution of seats for Alleid health post graduate courses :

General Category : 50 % seats of each course are in this category. The admission to this category is made on the basis of interse- merit of the candidates at NEET/AICET .

Management Category : 50 % seats of each course are allocated in this category. The admission to this category is also made on the basis of interse- merit of the candidates at AICET .
