RRB ALP Recruitment 2018
RRB will intake candidates to fill the 17673 posts available in the ALP post on the basis of the performance of the candidates in the two-stage examination (First stage CBT and Second Stage CBT). In addition, candidates who will qualify in the Second Stage CBT have to undergo Computer Based Aptitude Test (AT). Marks will be normalized in all the stages of the exam. RRB ALP Recruitment 2018 Exam Pattern
The RRB ALP Recruitment 2018 will be done in the stages described above, there will be 3 exams for the assistant loco pilot recruitment. These will be followed by document verification and medical standard tests. Below are the exam pattern of all the 3 exams.
Exam 1: First Stage CBT
- Duration: 1 Hour
- Number of question: 75
- Type of Questions: MCQ
- Nature: Screening
- Syllabus: Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Science, General Awareness and Current Affairs
- Qualifying marks: Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR-40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST-25%.
- Negative Marking: -1/3 for each wrong answer.
Exam 2: Second Stage CBT
- Duration: 2 Hours 30 Mins (90 mins in Part A & 60 mins in Part B)
- Parts: 2 parts (part A and Part B)
- Number of questions: 100 in Part A & 75 in Part B
- Syllabus for Part A: Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Science, General Awareness and Current Affairs
- Syllabus for Part B: Questions wil be from the trade syllabus prescribed by Director General of Employment & Training (DGET).
- Qualifying marks in Part A: Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR-40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST-25%.
- Qualifying Marks in Part B: 35% (This is applicable to all candidates and no relaxation is permissible).
- Negative Marking: -1/3 for each wrong answer.
Note: Part B will be qualifying in nature and The marks scored in Part A alone shall be used for shortlisting of candidates for further stages of recruitment process subject to the condition that the candidate is securing qualifying mark in Part B.

Exam 3: Computer Based Aptitude Test
- The candidate needs to secure a minimum score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify. This is applicable to all candidates and no relaxation is permissible.
- The Computer Based Aptitude Test shall have questions and answer options only in English and Hindi.
- There shall be no negative marking in Computer Based AT.
RRB ALP Recruitment 2018 Hall Ticket / Admit Card
The notification of availablity of the RRB ALP Recruitment 2018 Hall Ticket has been published in July. The candidates have to download their admit card from the official webiste 4 days before the examination.
- No call letter / admit card / hall ticket will be sent by post and will have to be only downloaded from the official websites.
- Candidates must bring their e- call letters along with a valid Photo ID.
- Candidates must also bring one colour photograph same as the one which was uploaded in the application form.
Document Verification for RRB ALP Recruitment
Candidates who will be shortlisted for the Document Verification Process will have to produce all the required documents in original and also have to submit two sets of self-attested photo copies.
Also it is required by the candidates to upload the scanned copies (in true color) of all the original certificates as applicable prior to their DV date through the http://www.rrbdv.in portal. No extra time to submit the documents will be provided. Thus candidates must take the dedlines seriously.

Determination of RRB ALP Recruitment 2018 Final Merit List
The RRB ALP 2018 Final merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the Aptitude Test. There will be 70% weightage given to the marks obtained in the Part A of Second Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in Computer Based Aptittude Test.
Eligibility Criteria for RRB ALP 2018
Here are the Assistant Loco Pilot Recruitment eligibility criteria that one must fulfil to be able to apply for RRB ALP 2018.
- Nationality / Citizenship
- A candidate must be either a citizen of India, or a subject of Bhutan, or a subject of Nepal, or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India. Candidates have the certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Candidates have the certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
Note: Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India has to be submitted during Document Verification failing which his/her candidature shall be rejected.
2. Age Limit
- The minimum age must be 18 years and the maximum age limit allowed is 30 Years on July 01, 2018.
- There will be the relaxation of age provided to various category of the candidates.
- No age relaxation is allowed to SC/ST/OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates applying against unreserved vacancies.
- PWD candidates applying against UR vacancies will be allowed age relaxation applicable for UR PWD only.

4. Medical Standards
Candidates called for Document Verification will have to pass requisite medical fitness test(s) conducted by the Railway Administration to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties connected with the post(s) opted by them. Visual Standard is one of the important criteria of medical fitness of railway staff.

To qualify for the posts of ALP candidates will have to follow the following steps:
How to apply for RRB ALP Recruitment 2018?
Candidates will have to follow the steps below to apply for RRB Assistant Loco Pilot Recruitment 2018. No other mode of application is available other than the online mode.
Step1: Visit the official websites
Click on the Online application link CEN 01/2018 for the recruitment of ALP and Technician and carry out the form fill up process.
Step 2: Confirmation
Confirm that you have read and understood the instructions clearly by clicking the checkbox.
Step 3: Registration
Enter your name, Date of Birth and Father’s name, Mother’s Name, Aadhaar number, State, Community, SSLC/Matric Roll number, year of passing SSLC/Matric, mobile number and email-id and then submit for registration.
Step 4: Login
On submitting the registration form, the registration number and password shall be displayed to the candidate. Also, OTPs (One Time Password) shall be sent to the registered mobile number and email along with the registration details. The candidate should retrieve the OTPs from email and mobile and then log in to proceed with the filling up of application and to make payment.
Step 5: Fill Part 1 of the Application Form
In Part 1 of the application page, provide the details of Educational qualification, Community, Gender, Religion, ExSM, PWD, Minority, Economically backward class, Age relaxation eligibility category as applicable and other details.
Step 6: Payment
On completion of application details as above, the candidate will be directed to the payment page to choose payment mode.
Step 7: Fill Part 2 of the application form
After the payment the part 2 of the application form will be activated, the part 2 of the application form will contain the following fields that must be filled:
- Scribe (Applicable to eligible PWD Candidates only).
- Detailed Educational Qualification.
- Choice of Exam Language for First and Second stage CBT.
- Uploading of Photograph
Step 8: Declaration, Final Submission and Print
After confirming the declaration at the end of the application and submission of the application, the entire application shall be displayed for confirmation once again and on confirmation, the candidate may take the print of the application and preserve it for reference and record.
RRB ALP Recruitment 2018 Application Fee
For all candidates except the fee concession categories: Rs. 500
For Candidates belonging to SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PWDs / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class: Rs. 250
Mode of Payment
The mode of payment will be online via internet banking or debit/credit cards. Or
Offline fee payment through the following 2 methods:
- SBI Bank Branch for Challan Payment mode in any branch of SBI.
- Post Office Challan Payment mode in any branch of computerized Post Office.
Modification of RRB ALP Application Form 2018
After final submission of online application, in case the candidates wish to make minor changes to correct errors in the application, the correction of data other than State, email and mobile number can be done by paying the modification fee of Rs. 250/- (Non-Refundable). The modification fee shall be applicable to all candidates. The modification to the registration and application details can be done twice only.
