How to calculate marks using TISSNET answer key?

Answer: Maximum marks in TISS NET is 100. For every correct answer, you get marks. Also important is that for every wrong answer you get 0 marks.

Will I get shortlisted for pre-interview test / GD and personal interview?

Answer: If a candidate gets marks that are equal to or more than cut off, then he/she can attend GD and PI. TISS is the authority that decides NET exam cut offs. According to experts, cut offs generally are above 70 for general category candidates. However, do not take any hasty decision based on expected cut off marks since they may be far from actual ones. Check TISSNET 2017 result and know whether or not you are shortlisted.


TISS declares TISSNET result. Once the result is available, log in to download score card. The following is distribution of marks.

National Eligibility Test 100 marks
Pre-Interview Test / GD 50 marks
Personal Interview 75 marks
Total 225 marks

Final merit has 40% weightage of NET, 30% PIT, and 30% PI. Tata Institute of Social Sciences considers merit and preferences of candidates at the time of preparing merit lists.
