TNTEU B.Ed Admission 2019
The candidate is totally responsible for any incorrect information or incorrect percentage of marks and such cases will be summarily rejected. Therefore, fill the application form correclty and within the given timeline.
A candidate need to submit only one application form for B.Ed Course seeking admission to Government and Government Aided Colleges of Education. Candidates are advised to take a zeroz copy of the coding sheet and fill up all the information correctly before filling the original coding sheet.
Candidates have to send the filled in applications (coding sheet-as loose sheet) along with the xerox copies of all the Mark Sheets, Co-Curricular Activity Certificates and Community Certificate to “The Secretary, Tamil Nadu B.Ed. Admission, lady Willingdon Institute of Advanced Study in Education, Chennai – 600 005.”

Cost of Application: The cost of application is as follows on production of attested xerox copy of the Community Certificate.
- For SC/ST Candidates: Rs. 250/-
- For other candidates: Rs. 500/-
Method of Payment: The cost of application must be paid either in case of in the form of Demand Draft drawn from any Nationalized Bank /Schedules Bank in favour of “The Secretary, Tamil Nadu B.Ed. Admission, Chennai”, payable at Chennai.
Eligibility Criteria for B.Ed. Admission
Candidates with at least 50% of marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanity are eligible. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science in Science and Mathematics with 55% makrs are also eligible for admission to B.Ed Degree Programme.
The candidates should have undergone 10+2+3 pattern of study and passed the qualifying examination conducted by the respective State Board or CBSE or any other recognizes Board of Education/Examination and UG Degaree Examination of the UGC recognized Universities in any one of the school subjects offered by the Directorate of School Education at the Secondary/Higher Secondary Education level.
The three year Diploma in Engineering will be treated as equivalent to +2 course for the purpose of eligibility for admission.
Candidates who have passed the UG or PG Degree under Open University System without 10+2 pattern of School Education examination are not eligible for admission.
The selection of the eligible candidates would be done purely on merit basis. Candidates will be called for the counseling process on the basis of their submitted application. Candidates have to appear for the couselling along the required original documents for verification. Candidates will not be considered for selection if he/she fails to report at the specified time and date for counselling with all the certificate in original.
Candidates are required to appear in the counselling process to get selected for the admission. The date, time and venue of the counselling will be published in the website. No request for change of date/time of counselling is permissible.
At the time of counselling the candidates belonging to OC/BC/MBC/DNC category have to submit a Demand Draft for RS. 2000/- and SC/ST category for Rs. 1000/- as counselling fee. The DD should drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Tamil Nadu B.Ed. Admission Chennai”.
The provisionally selected candidates have to join the allotted college within the date notified in his/her admission order, failing which his/her allotment will be cancelled and the seat will be deemed to have fallen vacant.
The percentage of marks obtained by candidates in UG/PG Degree will be atken as the base mark for preparation of rank list/merit list. In case of determination of inter-se-merit of candidates with the smae marks in the ranking, final ranking of candidates will be declared based on the following, in order of merit.
- Marks secured by the candidate in the Major Subject
- Marks secured in Allied-I Subject
- Marks secured in Allied-II subject
- By random method
Common and community-wise rank list will be maintained for each optional subject separately. Weightage for the highest qualification in the same subject will be given as follows and added to the base mark for ranking.
Subject code 1 to 10
- Candidates with PG – 4 marks
- Candidates with M.Phil – 5 marks
- candidates with PhD. – 6 marks
Subject code 11 to 19
- Candidates with PG – No marks
- Candidates with M.Phil – 1 marks
- candidates with PhD. – 2 marks
Weighatge of 3 marks for participation in any one of the following co-curricular activities will be added.
