Tripura University has released notification to admission in distance programmes offered by the University during the academic session 2017-2018. It is to be noted that the applicants have to use separate application forms for each programme. Tripura University Distance Education 2017

Those candidates who seek admission in various courses at Tirupura University can apply online from the official website distadmission.tripurauniv.in as per schedule. Admit card will be able to download after the completion of application process. The entrance test for admission in various courses will be held in the month of Jun 2017. The selection of Candidates for admission to Post Graduate Programmes shall be made on the basis of the merit list of the ‘Distance Education Admission Eligibility Test’ (DEAET) conducted by the DDE, Tripura University.

Application Form

Tripura University Distance Education Online applications portal www.tripurauniv.in is open for Indian applicants for admission in various academic programmes of Directorate of Distance Education, Tripura University for this session. Applicants in the Distance Mode can apply for all three programmes. While filling up the forms, they are advised to repeat the same process for each programme. Candidates are advised must ensure their eligibility and other conditions before going online application. Candidates can also apply and download the power jyoti payment challan form for distance education through the direct link provided below.

How to Fill Online Applications?

  • Visit the official website distadmission.tripurauniv.in or direct link is provided above.
  • Applicants in the Distance Mode can apply for all three programmes. While filling up the forms, they are advised to repeat the same process for each programme
  • For each program, s/he has to apply separately. Applicants have to go through the entire process each time s/he applies for a programme (like registration, submission of requisite fees, filling up online from etc.) irrespective of the number of programmes applied for.
  • For registration, applicants may use an email account. During registration, applicant will be asked to provide a valid e-mail id, initial login password will be sent to the e-mail id/ mobile number, and in future all correspondences in this regards shall be made to this e-mail id/mobile number.
  • After registration, applicants are to obtain the password from the registered e-mail. It is recommended that they may change their password on the first log in, if so wishes.
  • After successful login applicants may fill their Admission Form.
  • If the applicant does not have all required information at the time of filling the form, he/she can save the incomplete application as a draft (by clicking on ‘Save as Draft’ button) and log out. Later, by login back to his/her account again he/she may complete the rest of application form. Applicants are advised to save the data as draft after filling up information or after any modification in each page.
  • Indian applicants may download the Application Form from the website of the University.
  • A printed prospectus shall be sent to all applicants who registered online by post at their present address for communication. However, the University shall not remain responsible for postal delay, loss or other irregularities.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A Candidate who has successfully passed the Three Years or Six Semester Bachelor‟s Degree (Pass or Honours) of this University or any other recognized University under 10+2+3 pattern or equivalent system of education shall be eligible to apply
  • A candidate who has appeared in the BA Final Examination 2016 shall be eligible to apply for admission to the subjects offered by the Post Graduate Faculty (ODL).
  • Post Graduate Programme in Education under Directorate of Distance Education shall be governed by “the Rules and Regulations for the Post Graduate Programmes in the Choice Based Credit System, 2015-2016” and amendments made from time to tim

Reservation

Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/Persons with Disabilities (PWD) shall be as per the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Act, 2006 (No.5 of 2007) and Amendment Act, 2012 (No. 31 of 2012) published in the Gazette of India by the Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India or as amended from time to time. 2% Supernumerary seats are available for students of Jammu and Kashmir.

TU Distance Education Entrance Test

The Directorate of Distance Education shall conduct the Distance Education Admission Eligibility Test (DEAET) every year for selection of Candidates for admission into different Post Graduate Programmes under Directorate of Distance Education, Tripura University.

Medium for DEAET shall be English except language subjects.

Exam Schedule (MA Programme Course)

Exam Pattern

DEAET shall be of 100 marks for each Programme. There shall be 50 questions each carrying 2 marks. Questions shall be Usual Multiple Choice Question. Duration of test shall be 2 hrs.

The DEAET shall be conducted in accordance with the Syllabus of Undergraduate programme of Tripura University.

Question Paper for DEAET shall be set and moderated by the faculty members to be appointed by the Tripura University authority.

If a candidate is found to have adopted unfair means at the time of DEAET, his/ her candidature for admission shall automatically be treated cancelled.

Selection Process

Selection shall be made on the basis of marks obtained by the applicant in the DEAET.

If marks of entrance test of two or more candidates become same, then the following formula shall be followed, one after another, to break up the ties.

  • Candidates having Honours in the relevant subject shall be given preference
  • Marks obtained by the Candidate in the Degree examination shall be taken into account.
  • If the Marks in the Degree examination is also same then division and marks obtained in the next lower public examination (H.S.+2) shall be taken into account.

Counselling cum Admission

The merit list shall be prepared on the basis of the score obtained by the candidates in the DEAET. Short listed candidates (on the basis of merit list of DEAET) shall be called for Counselling cum Admission as per availability of Seats. The short listed students shall have to remain present with their original documents, admission fees etc. on the day of Counselling cum Admission, failing which Candidates Candidature shall automatically be cancelled.

Students shall have to take admission on the day of Counselling by depositing the requisite amount of fees as prescribed by the Directorate of Distance Education, Tripura University.
