The state Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET) has postponed TS POLYCET 2020. The new dates have yet not been declared. Apart from postponing the exam, the board has extended the last date to apply to April 17, 2020. As per the earlier scheduled, TS POLYCET was supposed to be held on April 17 and the last date to apply was April 04, 2020. The notice for postponement of the exam has been uploaded on March 28, 2020, on the official website, polycetts.nic.in.
The government of Telangana has imposed lockdown in the entire state of Telangana as a precautionary measure to avoid the spread of Corona (COVID-19) Virus via the notice with reference number G.O.Ms.No.45, GAD, Dated March 22, 2020.
Therefore with the effect of this order, SBTET postponed the TS POLYCET 2020 exam via the notice number SBTET-EE-2/POLY/P I/1/2019-EE-2 on March 28, 2020.
TS Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET) is a state-level test for admission in engineering and non-engineering polytechnic diploma courses and diploma courses offered by Professional Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU).
The candidates who have passed class 10th examination with minimum 35% marks with mathematics as one of the subjects can apply for the engineering courses
On the other hand, for admission to the agriculture course, the candidates must pass class 10th with science as one of the subjects. Also, candidates must have obtained 35% in each of the subjects separately – maths, physics, biology, and chemistry.
The application form of TS POLYCET is available online at polycetts.nic.in or the forms can be obtained from the nearest helpline center.
To apply for the exam online candiates have to fill details in the application form, upload photo and signature, and pay the application fee,
The application fee to apply for TS POLYCET 2020 is Rs. 400 for the general category candidates and Rs, 250 for the SC and ST candidates. The payment of the application form is to be made online. However, if te form is filled at the helpline center and then the required application fee must be remitted in cash.
TS POLYCET is an offline exam held at state level. The exam will have 150 MCQ type questions and will carry 150 marks in total. 60 questions will be asked from maths and 30 questions each will be from physics, chemistry, and biology.
To qualify the exam the candidates will need 30% marks in physics, chemistry and maths for adimission into polytechnics. On the other hand or admission to the agriculture polytechnics, candidates need 30% marks in physics, chemistry, maths, and biology.
Admission to the colleges based on TS POLYCET 202 scores will be done via counselling. Counselling for the Professional Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) is done separately by the university whereas the counselling for the rest of the courses is done by SBTE.
The State Board of Techhnical Education and Training (SBTET) is formed under the authority of the Government of Telangana. The board formats the policies, review and revise the syllabus as per the requirements of the society, design new courses, provide training to the teachers and so on.
