UCEED 2020 Result – IIT Bombay is going to declare the UCEED Result 2020 on March 04, 2020. It will be declared online at uceed.iitb.ac.in. UCEED 2020 Result Calculation
The UCEED 2020 Result is calculated after the final answer key is prepared for the UCEED 2020 exam by the exam conducting bodies. This Final Answer Key works as the basis for calculating individual marks of the candidates along with the marking scheme, which is pre-decided.
Each section of the UCEED 2020 exam is marked individually along with the marking parameters of that particular section. All three sections of the UCEED 2020 exam have a different style of questions which have their own marking scheme. The candidates have to qualify in each section individually with the minimum marks according to their category. Only those candidates who qualify the minimum passing mark criteria are considered as UCEED qualified candidates.

Tie Breaking Criteria for UCEED 2020
The Tie Breaking is done in case two or more candidates have the exact same score in an examination in which case an individual rank to the candidates cannot be given. In order to create a merit list with each rank holder having an individual rank, the tiebreaker is used to sort the candidates.
In case of two or more candidates scoring the exact same total marks, the following tie-break policy is used:
- Higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Part-B.
- Higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Part-A’s Section 2.
- If this does not break the tie, higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Part-A’s Section 1.
- If there is a tie even after this, candidates will be assigned the same rank.
How to Download UCEED 2020 Result and Scorecard
The candidates can download their UCEED 2020 Result by following the instructions given below:
Step 1: Visit the official UCEED 2020 website and click on the “click to view candidate portal” button for checking the UCEED 2020 Result.
Step 2: Next, the candidates need to log in by entering their registered Email ID and Password
Step 3: The candidates can now download their UCEED 2020 Result from the dashboard.

The UCEED 2020 Scorecard contains the following details. The candidates should check that the personal details on scorecard match with the details given on the admit card. The candidates must keep a printout of the scorecard when it is available for download on the candidate portal.

How are the Rank Lists for UCEED 2020 Prepared?
The UCEED Committee prepares only one Rank List for UCEED 2020 based on the total marks obtained by each candidate. The marks calculation is done on the basis of the final answer key. Candidates who qualify the minimum qualifying marks in each section are included in the Rank List.
Minimum Qualifying Marks: Given below is the table that defines the minimum passing criteria of the UCEED 2020 exam, which the candidates have to score according to their category:

In case of two or more candidates having same marks the tiebreaker formula discussed above, is applied. A rank list of all the qualified candidates is then prepared for admission in B.Des. courses at various institutes.
Candidates can then check a provisional category-wise list of the qualified candidates from the results page. On the basis of this Rank lists, the counselling procedure for different institutes takes place.
Marks v/s Rank of UCEED 2020
The UCEED 2020 Result is created by using the section wise marking scheme, as explained above. And the Marks define the individual performance of the candidate. The marks of the candidate are not be confused with the Rank.
The Rank of a candidate is dependent on the UCEED Result. All the candidates who score more than or equal to the qualifying mark, described above are considered eligible for becoming a part of the All India Rank list. All the UCEED 2020 qualified candidates are then ranked according to their relative performance.
What to do Once the UCEED 2020 Result has been Declared?
Candidates have two major options for taking admission in B.Des. courses, which are explained below :
For admission at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur
The candidates who seek admission in B.Des. course at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur can participate in the Joint Admissions Exercise conducted by IIT Bombay. The candidates have to register themselves for the Joint Counselling conducted by IIT Bombay in order to be considered eligible for admission.
For admission at other UCEED 2020 Result sharing Institutes
The candidates can get admission in B.Des. course at 16 other participating Institutes who take admission on the basis of UCEED score. The candidates can apply at these Institutes individually. However the candidates must note that each institute has its own eligibility criteria for admission, the UCEED score acts only as eligibility criteria.
UCEED 2020 Joint Admissions Exercise
Only UCEED 2020 qualified candidates are able to apply for admission to the B. Des program. The admissions are done for IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad and IIITDM Jabalpur for the academic year 2020-2021. All 4 institutes have a common application form for admission in B. Des programs.
The candidates have to register by paying INR 2000 as seat allocation fee. The candidates must also upload the necessary documents for participating in the Joint Admissions Exercise.
The common application form is going to be available at the IIT Bombay Admissions Portal. Applicants have to fill in their personal details and select institutes in order of preference for admission.
Rounds of Seat allocation:
There are 3 rounds of seat allocation. However, if the seats are filled earlier, admissions are closed. Seat is allotted according to the category-wise rank of the candidate and choice of institutes
- The candidates can accept or freeze their allocated seats. Or they can Decline the offer.
- The candidates also have the option of “float”. In this option, the candidate can accept the seat given to them and still keep the option of counselling open for the next round. In such a case if the candidate is allocated a better option from their choice, they have the option to upgrade.
The candidates who are selected are sent provisional allotment letters through email, and are asked to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee of INR 60000 for General/ OBC-NCL candidates and INR 15000 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

Ans : The UCEED result is prepared on the basis of the marking scheme. It comes in the form of a Rank card. Candidates are allotted a rank as per the total marks obtained by them.
