UCEED 2020
UCEED 2020 is also open for international candidates who do not fall under PIO / OCI category. However, the seats for these candidates are supernumerary with a cap of 10% of total available seats in the course. PIO / OCI are considered under open category. UCEED 2020 Supplementary Round Admission
If a vacancy exists after the 3rd round, supplementary rounds of allotment may be conducted based on the availability of seats and willingness of the participating institute. All the candidates in the “FLOAT” option will be informed about this supplementary round by email and SMS. This option is available only for candidates choosing the “FLOAT” option.

UCEED 2020 Result
Result for UCEED releases online at uceed.iitb.ac.in. Candidates can check UCEED 2020 result by providing the login id and password received after the registration. Along with the result, scorecard for UCEED is also released. The scorecard is valid for one year from the date of announcement of result.
Compilation of UCEED 2020 Result
The compilation of UCEED result is done according to the marking scheme set by IIT Bombay. Check the marking scheme given below.

UCEED 2020 Rank List
Rank list for UCEED 2020 is prepared as per the marks secured by the candidates in UCEED 2020. Marks in both the parts; Part A and Part B will be taken into consideration. If two or more candidates obtain same marks in the examination, then, the following tie-breaking criteria will be followed.
- Higher rank will be given to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Part B.
- If the tie is still there then, higher rank will be allotted to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Part-A’s Section 2.
- If this does not break the tie, higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Part-A’s Section 1.
- If there is a tie even after this, candidates will be assigned the same rank.
UCEED 2020 Counselling
The candidates who qualify UCEED 2020 have to apply for admission to the B. Des programme. The candidates who qualify the entrance test can apply at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad and IIITDM Jabalpur for admission in the academic year 2020-2021. All 4 institutes have a common application form for admission in B. Des programmes.
Process of the UCEED 2020 Counselling:
#1 The candidates who are selected have to register at the official website of UCEED and fill in their personal particulars and select institutes of their choice in order of their preference.
#2 The candidates are then allotted seats according to their rank and preferences. The result of the allotment is published online at the website.
#3 The candidate can then choose to Accept “freeze” their allocated Institute or Decline the offer. The candidates can also select the “float” option to say that they accept the current seat allocated to them, however, if a seat of higher preference is allotted to them, they shall accept it.
#4 the candidates who accept the seat have to pay an online acceptance fee and book their seats.
- The seat acceptance fee for admission via UCEED 2020 is INR 2000.

- The most number of seats is offered by IIT Guwahati – 56
- *In IIT B PWD reservations @ 5% (total 2 seats in all above programmes) will be horizontal (i.e. PWD candidates will consume seats from their birth category quota)
- In all the total number of available seats across the 4 IITs are 144

Apart from the participating Institutes, 16 other Institutes share the UCEED Scores to give admission in the course. UCEED 2020 Answer Key
The answer key for UCEED 2020 is uploaded on the official website in the form of a PDF file. Using the answer key of UCEED, candidates can cross-check their answers and calculate their probable score. Along with the answer key, question paper is also released in the pdf form.
To calculate the score using the answer key of UCEED 2020, the candidates have to use the marking scheme of the exam. The marking scheme is as follows:
- For correct answers, the candidates have to add 4 or 3 marks as per the question
- For wrong answers, the candidates have to deduct 0.19 marks in Sec B and -1.71 marks in Sec C
Challenges can be submitted against the provisional answer key. The challenges can be sent to uceed@iitb.ac.in. After considering the errors, a final answer key is also released.
UCEED 2020 Admit Card
The admit card of UCEED is only issued online. No hard copy is sent at the candidate’s postal address. On the exam day, candidates have to carry a print out of the admit card. It should be clear and all the details in it must be correct. Admit card consists of the details like candidate’s name, regsitration id, exam date and time, test centre’s address etc.

8 New Changes In UCEED 2020
The information brochure, website and dates of UCEED 2020 is out and with that, the below given major changes have been introduced:
1 – The exam pattern has been changed.
2 – Syllabus has been changed, drawing syllabus has been added.
3 – The question paper will now have 2 parts- Part A and Part B, earlier there was one part only.
4 – The mode of exam will be now both CBT and pen and paper-based.
5 – EWS reservation introduced – 10% seats.
6 – Registration fee for UCEED 2020 hiked for all categories.
7 – Number of seats available this year via UCEED 2020 has been increased by 29. In 2020 admission shall be made against 144 total seats.
8 – Admission fee during counselling will be Rs. 2000 this year, which was Rs. 1000 last year.
UCEED 2020 Exam Pattern (New)
The exam pattern for UCEED has been changed. Candidates can check the new exam pattern from below:
- Number of papers: 1 with two parts, A and B
- Language: English
- Mode: Computer-based test (Part A) and paper-based test (Part B)
- Total marks: 300
- Number of section: 3 in Part A and 1 in Part B

Types of Questions in UCEED 2020
Section A: Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. For these questions, an answer is a number that needs to be entered using a virtual keyboard on the computer screen. No choices are shown for these questions.
Section B: Multiple Select Questions (MSQ). Each MSQ has one or more correct answer(s) out of the four given choices.
Section C: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). Each MCQ has four choices out of which only one is the correct answer.

How to Prepare for UCEED 2020?
Proper discipline is the most important factor while preparing for any exam. Since the exam is conducted for candidates who are either appearing for their class 12th exams or have recently passed the examination. Hence finding time for entrance exam studies is a little difficult, however by following the below-mentioned steps the candidates can expect to pass the exam with flying colours:

UCEED 2020 Registration
The UCEED 2020 Registration can be only done online on uceed.iitb.ac.in. The registration is completely carried out online, no offline forms are accepted. Candidates need their scanned photographs, signature and necessary documents for uploading in the application form.

Step 2: Check your inbox for the verification link, verify your email and proceed to fill the application form.

Exam conducting Body of UCEED 2020
The UCEED exam was first conducted in the year 2015 to fill the B.Design seats at IIT Bombay. Since then the UCEED Committee of IIT Bombay conducts the UCEED exam every year and carries out the application process, question paper preparation, result declaration and publishes an all India rank list.
Over the years other institutes have become the participating institutes of UCEED exam. The newest addition to the UCEED participating institutes is IIT Hyderabad. There are other institutes who also participate in the UCEED Rank sharing process and accept the UCEED score as eligibility for filling B.Design seats at their respective institutes.
UCEED 2020 Eligibility Criteria
The candidates must fulfill certain eligibility criteria in order to be considered qualified to undertake the UCEED 2020 exam. Check the UCEED Eligibility Criteria from the points below:
Age limit
- Candidates born on or after October 1, 1995, for Open or OBC-NCL category.
- Candidates born on or after October 1, 1990, for SC, ST or PwD category
Number of Attempts
- A candidate can appear for UCEED exam for a maximum number of two attempts and in consecutive years only.
Qualifying Examination
- Candidates from any stream (Humanities, Commerce, Science) who passed their class 12th exam in 2019 or are appearing in 2020.

UCEED 2020 Exam Frequently Asked Questions
Ans : UCEED 2020 is an Online Test of 3 Hours. The paper is in English language only. The total number of marks is 300. It is divided into 3 sections - Numerical Answer Type Questions (NAT), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) and Multiple Choice Based Questions (MCQs).
Ans : Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT) will conduct the Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED) 2020.
