UCEED 2020 – IIT Bombay will conduct the national level Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED) 2020 in the third week of January 2019. All the candidates who have passed class 12 in the last year or are appearing in class 12 in any stream in 2020 are eligible to appear in UCEED 2020. IIT Bombay conducts UCEED as a computer-based test annually for admission in the Bachelor of Design (B. Des.) programs at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur. Eligibility Criteria for UCEED 2020
The candidates must fulfill certain eligibility criteria in order to be considered qualified to undertake the UCEED 2020 exam. The candidates must make themselves aware of the eligibility conditions before they fill the examination form.
The following Eligibility criteria are the parameter used for UCEED 2020 examination:
- Candidates born on or after October 1, 1995, for Open or OBC-NCL category.
- Candidates born on or after October 1, 1990, for SC, ST or PwD category
Number of Attempts
A candidate can appear for UCEED exam for a maximum number of two attempts and in consecutive years only.
Candidates from any stream (Humanities, Commerce, Science) who passed their class 12th exam in 2019 or are appearing in 2020.

Since the exam is conducted for candidates who are either appearing for their class 12th exams or have recently passed the examination. Exam Pattern of UCEED 2020

UCEED 2020 Application Form
The UCEED 2020 Application Form can be filled online through the official website, uceed.iitb.ac.in. The application process is completely carried out online, no offline forms are accepted. Candidates need their scanned photographs, signature and necessary documents for uploading in the application form.

The candidates need to submit some important documents along with their application form which is verified at later stages, such as examination day and during the time of admission. Given below is a list of all the necessary documents required, during the UCEED 2020 Application process:

Exam Test Centers for UCEED 2020
The following 24 cities are designated as the exam test centers for conducting UCEED 2020. However IIT Bombay reserves the right to cancel any examination city if not enough candidates apply for the particular center. The candidates have to choose 3 cities for testing, out of which they are allotted an examination center:

UCEED 2020 Admit Card
The candidates whose UCEED 2020 Application forms are correctly filled will be issued the admit card on the scheduled dates. The candidates will be able to download their UCEED 2020 admit card online, from the official UCEED website, using their email id and password.
The UCEED 2020 Admit Card contains the following information: Candidate’s Name, UCEED registration ID, Roll Number for UCEED 2020, candidate’s photograph and signature, examination date and time, examination center venue and important instructions. The candidates will have to carry a color printed copy of the admit card to the exam hall on the day of the examination.
UCEED 2020 Answer Key and Response Sheet
The Answer Key for UCEED 2020 will be uploaded on the official website in the form of a PDF file. The answer key is uploaded around 1 week after the complete examination process is over. The candidates can download the answer key by visiting the official website for UCEED 2020.
IIT Bombay also releases individual candidate response sheets for all the candidates who appeared for the exam on the scheduled date. The candidates can download the Response sheets from the official website using their registered email id and password. The candidates can check and verify the answers attempted by them using the answer key. The candidates can also pose a challenge against the answer key if they are not satisfied with the draft answer key.
UCEED 2020 Answer Key Challenge
The candidates are given a chance to Challenge the UCEED Answer Key by IIT Bombay in case the candidates are doubtful of the answer given in the draft answer key. The candidates have to send an email from their registered email id by addressing it to [email protected]
A committee is established for verifying the questions challenged by the candidates in the answer key. The exam conducting body will then prepare a final answer key on the basis of which the final result is prepared. The candidates must note that the final decision regarding the answer key is taken by the UCEED committee. No changes are made to the answer key once the final answer key has been released.
UCEED 2020 Result
Once the final UCEED 2020 Answer Key has been prepared and released, the results of each candidate are prepared. Since the UCEED 2020 exam is conducted in the CBT mode, the computer software prepares the result of all the candidates and the same is published on the official website for the candidates.
The marks of each candidate are calculated using the marking scheme explained above and the results are displayed as per schedule. The candidates can download their UCEED 2020 Results using their registered email id and password as a login from the official UCEED website.

UCEED 2020 Counselling
The candidates who qualify UCEED 2020 have to apply for admission to the B. Des programme. The application for the B.Des. Course begins in the 2nd week of Jun till the end of 4th week of Jun. The candidates who qualify the entrance test can apply at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad and IIITDM Jabalpur for admission in the academic year 2020-2021. All 4 institutes have a common application form for admission in B. Des programmes.
IIT Bombay then carries out the seat allocation process for all 4 institutes. The candidates have to pay INR 1000 and upload the necessary documents, to participate in the seat allocation process. Applicants who register have fill in their personal particulars and select institutes of their choice in order of their preference.
The candidates will then be allotted seats according to their rank and preferences. The candidates can choose to Accept “freeze” their allocated Institute or Decline the offer. The candidates can also select the “float” option to say that they accept the current seat allocated to them, however, if a seat of higher preference is allotted to them, they will accept it. After successful payment of seat acceptance fee, the candidate admission will be finalized.

Exam conducting Body of UCEED 2020
The UCEED exam was first conducted in the year 2015 to fill the B.Design seats at IIT Bombay. Since then the UCEED Committee of IIT Bombay conducts the UCEED exam every year and carries out the application process, question paper preparation, result declaration and publishes an all India rank list.
Over the years other institutes have become the participating institutes of UCEED exam. The newest addition to the UCEED participating institutes is IIT Hyderabad. There are other institutes who also participate in the UCEED Rank sharing process and accept the UCEED score as eligibility for filling B.Design seats at their respective institutes.
