BHU MDS Admission 2017
There is no separate entrance examination. BHU MDS Admission 2017 will be based on scores of NEET MDS. All candidates have to apply to Institute of Dental Sciences, BHU Varanasi to seek admission to PG course. Candidates who have appeared and qualified NEET MDS 2017 are eligible for admission based on their rank in the above examination. Those who are ranked in NEET MDS 2017 result and those not ranked but qualified in NEET MDS 2017 are eligible for application. Candidate has to upload the score card of NEET MDS 2017.
Candidates should ensure before applying for the registration that their BDS degree is recognized as per provisions of Indian Dental Council Act. If it is found at any time that BDS degree is not recognized, the candidature shall be cancelled/ deemed to be cancelled.
Duration of the courses: MDS: Three years from the date of admission.
BHU MDS 2017 Counselling
The Counselling for all Postgraduate Courses (Diploma/MD/MS/MDS/ DM/ M.Ch.) in all Medical Educational Institutions in a State/Union Territory, including Medical Educational Institutions established by the Central Government, State Government University, Deemed University, Trust Society of a company/ Minority Institutions/Corporation shall be conducted by the State Government. Such Common Counselling shall be under the overall superintendence, direction and control of the State Government.
As per information available till 30.03.2016, the Counselling for the PG seats under State Quota of IMS, BHU, would be done at the level of Director General, Medical Education & Training, Uttar Pradesh. All applicants who have registered with IMS, BHU through Form Zero, for consideration for admission to the PG Courses, on seats other than the seats being filled through the 50% All India Quota, will now need to register for the UPNEET for being considered for the counselling being conducted through the Director General, Medical Education & Training, Uttar Pradesh.
So applicants both Institutional (IMS, BHU passed) and non-Institutional (External candidates registered through Form Zero) aspiring for admission to the PG seats of IMS, BHU are required to visit www.upneet.gov.in, www.updgme.in for detailed information regarding eligibility, seat availability, registration and procedure of counselling. The last date for online registration for UPNEET 2017 is 03 April, 2017 up to midnight.
BHU MDS 2017 Eligibility Criteria
A candidate, who holds BDS degree from a recognized Dental College or a Foreign Dental degree included in the Schedules to the Indian Dental Council Act, and who has obtained full registration either from the Dental Council of India or any of the State Dental Councils after completing compulsory rotating internship shall be eligible.
The cut off dates for the recognition of the Dental Colleges from where the candidates have passed their Dental Degree Course and completed compulsory rotatory Internship for the year 2017 will be 31 October, 2016.
Registration with DCI / State Dental Council is necessary and its documentary proof should be furnished at the time of counseling and admission in IMS, BHU.
Only those Candidate who have passed BDS from Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU in December 2015 (Supplementary Batch by 31.3.2016) and have completed compulsory rotatory internship before 31.03. 2017 will be considered for admission to BHU MDS 2017 in IMS under internal quota pool provided candidate has appeared and qualified in NEET MDS 2017 examination. Number of PG Seats (MDS) left vacant after allotment of internal candidates will be offered to external candidates.Hence, status of seats and number of seats will be known only after final round of counseling for internal students. Candidates who have studied / passed BDS from the state of Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh are not eligible for 50% All India Quota. However, the candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to pursue BDS from Medical Colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir shall be eligible to apply for admission.

How many seats are available for PG course to external students?
There are a total of 12 seats for MDS courses; out of which 6 seats have been given to all India quota and remaining 6 seats are for internal students of IMS, BHU who have qualified NEET MDS 2017. Seats of this internal quota which are left over will be offered to external students (registered with IMS, BHU) as per rank in NEET MDS 2017.
What documents are required at the time of joining in allotted Medical / Dental College?

- Admit Card issued by organization conducting NEET-MDS 2017.
- Result / Rank letter issued by organization conducting NEET-MDS 2017.
- Mark Sheets of BDS 1st, 2nd and 3rd and 4 th Year Examinations.
- BDS Degree Certificate.
- Internship Completion Certificate/Certificate from the Head of Institution or College that the candidate will be completing the Internship by 31st March, 2016.
- Permanent/Provisional Registration Certificate issued by DCI/State Dental Council.
- High School/Higher Secondary Certificate/Birth Certificate as proof of date of birth.
- Candidates allotted seat must carry one of the identification proof (ID Proof)
- The Candidate should also bring any other certificate applicable.
At the time of admission will my original certificates be retained by the institution?
Yes, IMS, BHU will retain original certificates of admitted students and release them only on up-gradation of the seat or resignation by the candidate or after completion of course.
