MBBS, PG Medical

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, or in Latin: Medicinae Baccalaureus, Baccalaureus Chirurgiae (abbreviated as MBBS), are the two first professional undergraduate degrees awarded upon graduation from medical school in medicine and surgery by universities in various countries.

Medical colleges in India, accredited by the Medical Council of India, all title the degrees as MBBS. The students complete a course of four and a half years followed by one year of a compulsory rotatory internship before applying for the degree. The course is divided into four parts with only the second part lasting one and a half years.

Following MBBS they can apply for postgraduate (speciality) courses which will be for 2 to 3 years they will receive a degree as MD, MS, DNB depending on the subjects. Following this, they can also further do super speciality courses in cardiology, neurology, oncology, nephrology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, immunology, etc.

BDS, MDS

In India, training in dentistry is through a 5-year BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) course, which includes 4 years of study followed by one year of internship.

Postgraduate training is for three years in the concerned speciality of Master of Dental Surgery (MDS).

NEET

Full Name: National Entrance cum Eligibility Test

Organizing Body: National Testing Agency

NEET is one of the renowned and toughest Medical Entrance Exams which is held generally in May. It is organized at the national level with the purpose to offer admissions to the medical courses in the top level universities and colleges of the country. This is objective examination with multiple choice questions. The time span to solve the exam is THREE (3) hours. The exam comprises three sections namely Physics, biology and chemistry. The exam comprises of the multiple choice questions in which multiple choices are with only one possible answer.
