National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (UG) is held by the Central Board of Higher Secondary (CBSE), for admission to MBBS / BDS courses. NEET UG is conducted on first Sunday of May every year. CBSE NEET is held for All India Quota seats (15%) in all Medical / Dental colleges in India under Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India with the approval from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (UoMHFW), Government of India (GOI). There are institutions like AIIMS and JIPMER which are exceptions and doesn’t accept CBSE NEET UG as their entrance exam. For admission to these institutions, you have to appear for their own entrance exams.
About NEET UG Exam
In India, NEET UG is the largest medical entrance exam for MBBS / BDS admission into medical and dental colleges. The colleges do not conduct their own medical entrance exam. Thus, all colleges accept students based on NEET UG 2018 Score (except AIIMS & JIPMER). The total number of seats offered is 53,430.
