How is the PU LLB migration merit list made?
Panjab University puts you on the merit list only if you score at least 20% of the total marks in the test, and the final merit is based 100% on the test.
- If two candidates have equal marks, the one with the higher percentage in earlier LL.B. semesters ranks higher (1st and 2nd semester for the 3rd semester; 1st to 4th semester for the 5th).
- If that is also equal, the higher percentage in the graduation or post-graduation used for LL.B. admission counts.
- If still equal, the older candidate ranks higher.
- No seats are reserved for any category.
What is the expected PU LLB Migration Entrance Test 2027 cut off?
Panjab University publishes no closing marks for this test, so the only official cut-off is the qualifying rule below (2026, official prospectus).
| Requirement (2026, official prospectus) | Value |
|---|---|
| Minimum marks for the merit list | 20% of total marks (10 out of 50) |
| Seats reserved by category | None |
| Weightage of the test in final merit | 100% |
Seats are few, for example only one 3rd semester seat at Bajwara in 2026, so a seat usually needs much more than the qualifying 10 marks.
What should you do after the result?
Qualifying the test does not give you a seat. You must fill a separate online admission form at pglawmigration.puchd.ac.in on the dates Panjab University notifies.
- Fill the online admission form by its last date.
- Watch the Department of Laws online notice board for the merit list and counselling schedule.
- Attend counselling in person with all original documents, your admit card and the results of all your earlier LL.B. semesters.
- Sign the attendance sheet. Only candidates who attend are considered for vacant seats in later rounds.
- Pay the migration fee of Rs 50,000 (or as fixed by the Syndicate) and the fees due.
Admission is provisional until Panjab University approves it. It can be cancelled if you attend less than 33% of classes in the first ten working days.
Can you get your marks verified?
Yes, but only by buying a photocopy of your answer sheet for Rs 10,000 within 10 days of the result. There is no re-evaluation. Check your answers first with the PU LLB migration answer key.
