How to Apply for PU LLB Migration Entrance Test 2027
You apply online at pglawmigration.puchd.ac.in, where Panjab University posts the prospectus and form, expected in June 2027. The steps and fee below follow the 2026 prospectus.
Apply Online for PU LLB Migration Test 2027
Applications for PU LLB Migration Test 2027 are expected in June 2027.
- Open pglawmigration.puchd.ac.in when the 2027 form is out and read the prospectus first.
- Register with your name as in your Class 10 certificate, date of birth, email, mobile number, LL.B. registration number (if any), your present university and the semester you want (3rd or 5th).
- Note your application number, login ID and password, which are also emailed to you. The login ID and password are case sensitive.
- Log in and pay the entrance test fee online.
- Upload your photograph and signature, fill in the remaining details, then save and confirm the form. Nothing, including your category, can be changed after you confirm.
- SC, ST and PwD candidates and PU employees claiming a fee concession send the form printout with documents to the Assistant Registrar, CET Cell, Aruna Ranjit Chandra Hall, Panjab University, Chandigarh by the notified date (20 July in 2026).

The fee is not refunded, and if you submit more than one form only one is considered. If you forget your password, the “Forgot your password?” link on the login page resets it with your application number, email, mobile number and date of birth.
Who can apply for PU LLB Migration Entrance Test 2027?
You can apply if you are studying the three-year LL.B. at another university and want to move into the 3rd or 5th semester at Panjab University. Migration into the 1st, 2nd or 4th semester is not allowed.
- Your university’s LL.B. degree must be recognised as equivalent to the Panjab University LL.B.
- You must have cleared all papers of your earlier semesters and have all their results: the 1st and 2nd semester for the 3rd semester, and the 1st to 4th semester for the 5th semester.
- You need at least 45% aggregate marks in the preceding year or years.
- Your earlier courses may differ from PU’s by at most two papers. You clear any missing papers as additional papers without attending lectures.
- Migration needs the recommendation of the department’s Board of Control or the institute’s Director or Principal. It cannot be claimed as a right.

The test fills a small number of migration seats at four Panjab University law departments, most of them in the 5th semester.

What is the PU LLB Migration Entrance Test 2027 exam pattern?
The test is a one-hour OMR paper of 50 multiple choice questions, one mark each, with a quarter mark cut for each wrong answer. This is the 2026 pattern, which is expected to continue. The PU LLB migration syllabus page lists the subjects asked.

What does migration to Panjab University cost?
Besides the test fee, a migrated student pays a migration fee of Rs 50,000, or the amount the Syndicate fixes. You also pay, for the rest of the course, the annual dues of your old institution or of the PU department, whichever is higher.
