Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is responsible for conducting the NEET 2018 Counselling. Candidates have to register first to take participate in the NEET 2018 Counselling for Admission to MBBS and BDS 2018-2019 (15% AIQ). After the registration process choice filling is started. The remaining 85% seats will be filled through the state counselling. In all, there will only be two rounds in the counselling. The first round seat allotment for NEET Counselling 2018 has been announced by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). NEET 2018 Counselling for Admission

Online medical counselling of NEET 2018 has started with registration and submission of choices. After submitting the choices, MCC has displayed an indicative seat allotment result on its official website after which choices can be locked. On locking choices by the candidates as per schedule, MCC has displayed first round of seat allotment. You can check NEET 2018 Seat Allotment Result online at www.mcc.nic.in and then report to allotted institute to complete admission formalities. MCC has also announced that instead of 5 times number of candidates to be called for counselling, all candidates who have marks above cut off can participate in NEET 2018 counselling.

NEET 2018 Counselling Schedule

NEET 2018 Online Reporting of Resignation

Candidates who wish to resign from the UG seat allotted/Joined through Online 15% AIQ/Deemed/ Central Universities & ESIC UG 2018 Round-1 are advised to obtain online generated resignation/seat surrender receipt from allotted college (generated through online counselling software).

Please report all resignations online only through Seat Surrender ‘ Resignation (Surrender) of the Allotted seat if the candidate is not satisfied’ of ‘Allotted Institute Incharge (Admin)’ module of Allotted College for MCC record. Please note that this information may be used for placing before Hon’ble Court(s) in pending Court cases if needed. All Participating Institutions are requested to report online all those Resignations (Surrender) of Allotted seats, in respect of candidates who were relieved offline, if any.

NEET 2018 Online Registration for Counselling

Registration for NEET 2018 Counselling for Admission to MBBS and BDS 2018-2019 (15% AIQ) has been started online at its official website. Candidates who are interested can participate in the online counselling process by registering at the official website. Candidates have to ensure their eligibility before going to register. Registration can be done on or before its last date.

NEET 2018 Counselling Fee

You may be required to pay a fee to participate in counseling. Apart from that fee involved is also for getting admission to colleges which is same as college fee comprising of tuition fee and other components. Hence, fee that you need to pay after getting a seat allotted will be admission fee. You must check fee data from college directly so that you are fully aware of exact fee amount.

Eligibility Criteria for Merit List Compilation

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will prepare an All India Merit List of successful candidates of NEET UG 2018. It will be prepared on the basis of the eligibility criteria provided by the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India. The eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • It will be necessary for an applicant to secure a minimum marks of 50th percentile in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) to MBBS/BDS Courses held for that particular academic year.
  • If required number of candidates in the respective categories fail to obtain the minimum marks as prescribed in NEET UG 2018, the Central Government in consultation with Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India may at its discretion lower the minimum marks required for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses.
  • A candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually. They also need to secure a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology at the Qualifying Examination.

NEET 2018 Counselling Process

Registration and then first round of seat allotment.

The first counseling process will be held at the website of Online Medical Counseling i.e. www.mcc.nic.in. Candidate has to register first for the counseling and then submit his choice, view indicative seat allotment and modify and lock their seat finally. After that first round of seat allotment will start.

After first seat allotment then the second round in NEET 2018 Counselling.

After the first round counseling process, second round seat allotment process will be held. Candidates who will be allotted in the first round will report to the allotted Institute, complete Admission formalities and give the willingness to participate in the second round. Those who have not allotted any seat in the first round of allotment will move further for the second round of counseling. Both the candidates who will be allotted and have not allotted can apply for the second round of counseling.

Conclusion of NEET Counselling with second round.

A list will be prepared of newly added / vacant seat and also of anticipated vacancies. Earlier choice submitted by the candidate will be treated null and void. Fresh choices submission for seat allotment in the second round is mandatory.

Merit List for Counselling under 15% All India Quota

The merit list of the applicants who will be qualified and will be eligible for 15% All India Quota seats is prepared by CBSE. This list is compiled based on the scores obtained by individual candidate in the CBSE NEET 2018. The length of the merit list will be as long as the number of seats that are available for allotting the applicants for MBBS/BDS courses under 15% All India Quota. A waiting list, which equals to four times of the merit list will also be prepared if it’s required by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The list of successful applicants (Merit+Waiting list applicants) will then be forwarded to the DGHS (Medical Examination Cell), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare(MoHFW), Government of India (GOI) with the motto of allotting seats by Online Counseling to 15% All India Quota Seats.

Merit List for seats other than 15% All India Quota

  • The All India Rank (AIR) will be given by CBSE. But, the result will be given to the DGHS, MoHFW, GOI. They will be giving it out to the Admitting Authorities.
  • Admitting Authorities will then invite applications for Counselling and merit list will be drawn based on All India Rank by the Admitting Authorities subject to their individual rules.

NEET 2018 Counselling Letter

Get rank letter to participate in counselling – The candidates who will be qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET UG conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are only eligible for MCC Counselling. Eligible candidates may download the NEET Rank letter/ Result from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) website. Cutoff rank of eligible candidates will be also available on this website under heading of notice.

All India Rank (AIR): All India Rank (AIR) is over all AIPMT All India Rank, as given by CBSE, is based on rank among the successful candidates, of NEET UG on all India basis.

All India Quota Rank: This is the rank for the purpose of All India Quota seat allotment, after excluding candidates from Andhra Pradesh (AP) and J&K.

    • According to previous year data, you would be able to get a seat under 85% state quota. However, it is difficult to grab a seat under 15% AIQ

    • Hello! To participate in All India counselling, you need to register for the online counselling at the MCC website. To participate in different state counselling, you will need to register at portals of respective state counselling committees.

    • Not it is not compulsory to register in ALL India quota to register for the counselling in the the state quota.

    • hey khyathi, well the basic difference between the round 1 counselling and round 2 counselling is that the cutoff for round 1 is high and the cut off admission in round 2 is less than the round 1.

    • well you’re eligible for both the counselling i.e state or the All India Counselling and there might be chances that you’ll get the college.

    • well from this year a new rule has been published that if you had hold a seat in All India counselling then you will not allowed to hold the another seat in any further counselling.

    • Ur sister is not qualified in neet .So she is not eligible to participate in AIQ and also in state.
      Try for next time because she cannot apply for private also.
