Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is conducting NEET 2018 Counselling. The counseling will be started with the registration and choice filling process. The counselling of NEET will be begin held to fill 15% All Indian Quota Seats only. The remaining 85% seats will be filled through the state counselling. In all, there will only be two rounds in the counselling. The first round seat allotment for NEET Counselling 2018 will be announced by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Candidates who do not get any seat in round 1, or if will got and still wish to participate in round 2, then they can exercise fresh choices and lock them for round 2 NEET 2018 Counselling. Counselling committee will publish round 2 seat allotment result. That will be the end of counseling of NEET 2018 Counselling by Medical Counselling Committee for 15% AIQ.
NEET 2018 Counselling for Admission
Online medical counseling of NEET 2018 will start with registration and submission of choices. After submitting the choices, MCC will display an indicative seat allotment result after which choices can be locked. On locking choices and as per schedule, MCC will display first round of seat allotment. You can check NEET 2018 Seat Allotment Result online at www.mcc.nic.in and then report to allotted institute to complete admission formalities. MCC has announced that instead of 5 times number of candidates to be called for counseling, all candidates who have marks above cut off can participate in NEET 2018 counseling.
NEET 2018 Counselling Schedule

Eligibility Criteria for Merit List Compilation
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will prepare an All India Merit List of successful candidates of NEET UG– 2018. It will be prepared on the basis of the eligibility criteria provided by the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India. It will be following the specifications as given in Graduate Medical Education Regulations-1997 and issued under Indian Medical Council Act-1956 and BDS Course Regulations, 2007 under the Dentists Act, 1948. The eligibility criteria are as follows:
- It will be necessary for an applicant to secure a minimum marks of 50th percentile in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) to MBBS/BDS Courses held for that particular academic year.
- If required number of candidates in the respective categories fail to obtain the minimum marks as prescribed in NEET UG 2018, the Central Government in consultation with Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India may at its discretion lower the minimum marks required for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses.
- A candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually. They also need to secure a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology at the Qualifying Examination.
NEET 2018 Online Reporting of Resignation
Candidates who will wish to resign from the UG seat allotted through 15% All India Quota UG 2018 Round-2 are advised to obtain online generated resignation/seat surrender receipt from allotted college (generated through online counseling software).
Facility for online reporting of resignation will be available on your allotted colleges. All Participating Institutions are requested to report online all those Resignations (Surrender) of Allotted seats, in respect of candidates who will be relieved offline, if any.
Please note that there will be no need to send information about Resignation offline in any form (through e-mail, fax, or by post). Please note that if any candidate resigns, then she/he will not be eligible to participate in further round of 15% All India Quota Online counseling UG 2018.
NEET 2018 Counselling Process
Registration and then first round of seat allotment.
The first counseling process will be held at the website of Online Medical Counseling i.e. www.mcc.nic.in. Candidate has to register first for the counseling and then submit his choice, view indicative seat allotment and modify and lock their seat finally. After that first round of seat allotment will start.
After first seat allotment then the second round in NEET 2018 Counselling.
After the first round counseling process, second round seat allotment process will be held. Candidates who have been allotted in the first round will report to the allotted Institute, complete Admission formalities and give the willingness to participate in the second round. Those who have not been allotted any seat in the first round of allotment will move further for the second round of counseling. Both the candidates who have been allotted and have not been allotted can apply for the second round of counseling.
Conclusion of NEET Counselling with second round.
A list will be prepared of newly added / vacant seat and also of anticipated vacancies. Earlier choice submitted by the candidate will be treated null and void. Fresh choices submission for seat allotment in the second round is mandatory.
Merit List for Counselling under 15% All India Quota
The merit list of the applicants who have Qualified and will be eligible for 15% All India Quota seats is prepared by CBSE. This list is compiled based on the scores obtained by individual candidate in the CBSE NEET 2018. The length of the merit list will be as long as the number of seats that are available for allotting the applicants for MBBS/BDS courses under 15% All India Quota. A waiting list, which equals to four times of the merit list will also be prepared if it’s required by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The list of successful applicants (Merit+Waiting list applicants) will then be forwarded to the DGHS (Medical Examination Cell), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare(MoHFW), Government of India (GOI) with the motto of allotting seats by Online Counseling to 15% All India Quota Seats.
Merit List for seats other than 15% All India Quota
- The All India Rank (AIR) will be given by CBSE. But, the result will be given to the DGHS, MoHFW, GOI. They will be giving it out to the Admitting Authorities.
- Admitting Authorities will then invite applications for Counselling and merit list will be drawn based on All India Rank by the Admitting Authorities subject to their individual rules.
NEET 2018 Counselling Fee
You may be required to pay a fee to participate in counseling. Apart from that fee involved is also for getting admission to colleges which is same as college fee comprising of tuition fee and other components. Hence, fee that you need to pay after getting a seat allotted will be admission fee. You must check fee data from college directly so that you are fully aware of exact fee amount.
NEET 2018 Counselling Letter
Get rank letter to participate in counselling – The candidates who will be qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET UG conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are only eligible for MCC Counselling. Eligible candidates may download the NEET Rank letter/ Result from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) website. Cutoff rank of eligible candidates iwill be also available on this website under heading of notice.
All India Rank (AIR): All India Rank (AIR) is over all AIPMT All India Rank, as given by CBSE, is based on rank among the successful candidates, of NEET UG on all India basis.
All India Quota Rank: This is the rank for the purpose of All India Quota seat allotment, after excluding candidates from Andhra Pradesh (AP) and J&K.
