NEET Answer Key 2027: Release Date, Challenge, Score Calculation

NTA will release the NEET UG 2027 provisional answer key at neet.nta.nic.in a few days after the exam, with a short window to challenge answers. It is not out yet. In 2026 the provisional key for the 21 June re-exam came on 25 June, and the final key came on 16 July along with the result.

How to Check the NEET UG 2027 Answer Key

1. Go to neet.nta.nic.in after the provisional answer key notice is out.
2. Open the answer key link and log in with your application number and password or date of birth.
3. Find the key for your test booklet code (the code printed on the booklet you took home).
4. Match each answer with the responses you marked and note any you want to challenge.
5. Download the final answer key when NTA publishes it, before or with the result.

How do you check your NEET UG OMR sheet?

NTA shows each candidate’s scanned OMR answer sheet and the responses its machine recorded. If a recorded response differs from what you marked, you can challenge it online for Rs 200 per response. In 2026 this window ran from 13 to 15 July, separately from the answer key challenge.

How can you challenge the NEET UG 2027 answer key?

You can challenge any answer in the provisional key online during the window NTA announces. In 2026 it was open for 4 days.

1. Log in to the answer key challenge link on neet.nta.nic.in.
2. Choose the question numbers you want to challenge under your own booklet code.
3. Select the answer you think is correct and upload supporting documents.
4. Pay Rs 200 per question by card or net banking and submit.

Subject experts review every challenge. If one is accepted, the key is corrected for all candidates and all booklet codes. In 2026 NTA refunded the fee in full for accepted challenges. The final key cannot be challenged.

How to Calculate Your NEET UG 2027 Score

Use the official marking scheme to estimate your score out of 720.

• Correct answer: +4
• Wrong answer: -1
• Not answered: 0
• Score = (correct x 4) – (wrong x 1)
• Example: 150 correct and 20 wrong gives 600 – 20 = 580 out of 720

If a question has more than one correct option, anyone who marked a correct option gets 4 marks. If a question is dropped or has no correct option, every candidate gets 4 marks for it. Your estimate tells you where you may stand in the NEET UG 2027 result.
