AIISH Admission 2027: Entrance Dates, Eligibility, Pattern, Papers

AIISH Admission 2027 is through the national-level entrance exam of the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), Mysuru. The computer-based test fills 80 B.ASLP seats and 44 seats each in M.Sc. Audiology and M.Sc. Speech-Language Pathology. Applications are expected in April 2027 and the exam in May 2027.

What is the AIISH entrance exam?

The AIISH entrance exam is the national-level computer-based test that the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), Mysuru uses to fill its B.ASLP, M.Sc. Audiology and M.Sc. Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) seats. AIISH is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and its degrees are awarded by the University of Mysore.

Admission to these courses is strictly on entrance-exam merit. B.Ed. Spl. Ed. (HI) and PG Diploma in Auditory Verbal Therapy (PGDAVT) seats are filled on qualifying-exam marks, and the DHLS and DHAEMT diplomas are filled through the RCI online process, so they do not need this exam.

AIISH 2027 Important Dates

AIISH has not released the 2027-28 notification yet, so the 2027 dates below are expected months. In 2026, applications closed on 17 May 2026 and the CBT was held on 26 May 2026.

How to Apply for the AIISH Entrance Exam 2027

You apply online only, through the application link that AIISH posts on its admissions page when the new prospectus and entrance leaflet come out. The 2026 portal is no longer reachable, so wait for the 2027 link on the official website.

1. Read the prospectus and entrance leaflet on the AIISH admissions page and check your eligibility.
2. Open the online application link given there and register with your own mobile number and email ID. AIISH sends OTPs and updates only to these.
3. Fill in your personal, category and academic details. The category you enter cannot be changed later.
4. Choose three test cities in order of preference. Cities are allotted first come, first served, and only cities with free slots are shown.
5. Upload your photo and signature and pay the application fee online. The fee is not refunded.
6. Submit the form. To sit both M.Sc. exams, submit separate applications for M.Sc. Audiology and M.Sc. SLP.

Who can apply for AIISH admission 2027?

For B.ASLP you need a 10+2 or II PUC pass with at least 50% (45% for SC/ST) in the PCMB group or its combinations. The table gives the 2026-27 prospectus rules.

• For M.Sc., the University of Mysore deducts 3% from the aggregate for each extra year taken to pass the degree.
• Candidates who passed their qualifying exam abroad apply only under the foreign quota. They are selected on science marks and do not take the entrance exam.
• The PwD quota needs a benchmark disability certificate; speech, language and hearing disability must come down to 20% or below with aids or training, as assessed by an AIISH board.

What is the AIISH entrance exam pattern?

Both exams are computer-based tests with single-answer multiple choice questions in English only. This is the pattern in the latest leaflet available (2025); AIISH may revise it in the 2027 leaflet.

• B.ASLP ties: a PCB candidate ranks above a PCM candidate with the same total; then Biology (or Physics) marks decide, and finally the older candidate ranks higher.
• M.Sc. ties: fewer negative responses first, then higher Part C marks, then Part A marks, then age.
• M.Sc. Audiology and M.Sc. SLP are held on the same day in two sessions. There is no re-test for anyone who misses the exam.
• In 2025 the test was offered in 13 cities: Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mumbai, Mysuru, New Delhi, Patna and Thrissur.

How do the AIISH admit card, answer key and result work?

You download the admit card by logging in with your registration number; AIISH does not post or email it. The test centre address and exam-day rules are printed on it.

• Carry a printed admit card and one original photo ID: PAN card, driving licence, voter ID, passport or Aadhaar (a downloaded e-Aadhaar is accepted).
• Before the all-India rank list, AIISH publishes the answer key and gives at most 24 hours to report discrepancies.
• The result, answer keys, the merit list and the list of candidates called for counselling appear only on aiishmysore.in. No individual letters are sent.
• The merit list is based on total marks in the entrance exam.

How does AIISH counselling and seat allotment work?

AIISH calls candidates to Mysuru for in-person counselling in order of their entrance rank. You must report by 10 AM on your counselling day and take admission that same day by paying the full fee; otherwise the seat goes to the next candidate.

• Carry original Class 10 and Class 12 (or degree and internship) mark sheets, transfer and conduct certificates, four passport photos, an Aadhaar copy and the indemnity bond.
• Reserved-category candidates also need the caste, OBC non-creamy layer or EWS certificate in the prospectus format, and PwD, North-East or foreign candidates their supporting documents.
• Candidates who miss a General merit seat are considered for Self Finance Scheme (SFS) seats in order of rank and reservation.
• B.ASLP seats are split into 40 General and 40 SFS, with 4 EWS, 12 SC, 6 ST and 22 OBC seats across the two, plus small quotas for North-East, PwD, diploma holders and foreign students.

What are the AIISH course fees and stipends?

First-year fees at AIISH are about Rs 30,000 on General seats and over Rs 1 lakh on SFS seats. These are the 2026-27 prospectus figures, before University of Mysore fees:

• B.ASLP students get a stipend of Rs 800 a month for 10 months in each of the first three years, and Rs 5,000 a month (Rs 6,000 in North-Eastern states) during the internship.
• M.Sc. students get Rs 1,300 a month for 10 months a year and must serve AIISH for one year after the course, under an indemnity bond.
• Hostel admission costs Rs 13,950 (UG) or Rs 14,550 (PG) in the first year, including refundable deposits; mess charges are extra.
