AIISH Admission 2017

The process of admission to the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing has been commenced and all the aspiring candidates shall take part in the admission process. The admission to various courses will be granted on different basis such as entrance exam, merit and interview etc. The AIISH Admission 2017 shall be held as per the schedule provided below.

Provisional Rank List & Answer Key

Candidates will be called in the order of their rank in the merit list for personal interview/counselling. Students selected shall be admitted on the same day, on payment of the prescribed admission fees in full, and submit original marks cards without which admission will not be made. The candidates who have completed their qualifying examination from outside Karnataka have to complete additional formalities at the University of Mysore in connection with Eligibility Certificate / Equivalent Certificate by paying the necessary fees at the University of Mysore on the same day.

If a candidate who is called for counselling does not appear by 10 a.m. on the day of counselling or does not get admitted on the same day, if offered a seat, then the offer will be cancelled and the immediate next candidate in the merit list will be offered the seat.

Instruction for Application Form

  1. The candidates shall visit the official website of AIISH or use the link provided above to access the application form.
  2. Following scanned documents are required and should have the soft copies before filing this application form. Candidate must scan these documents in 72 dpi resolution. Passport size photo must be in .jpg format, others can be in .jpg or .pdf format.
    • 10th Marks card.
    • Caste certificate in case of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe or OBC
    • Marks sheet of qualifying examination (If results are declared).
    • Passport size photo.
    • Counterfoil of bank pay in slip/UTR.
    • Documents to claim for eligibility under North Eastern/Diploma/Physically Handicapped(Ortho) category.
    • NOC/Experience/Eligibility certificate for candidates applying to Ph.D. program.
  3. After completing online application, take a printout of the application form and Admission Ticket (one copy) duly signed by the candidate and send it to: The Director, All India Institute of Speech & Hearing, Manasagangothri, Mysore 570 006, India
  4. For Non-entrance based programmes, the hardcopy the application duly filled and signed, should be sent to Director, AIISH, Mysore. (Diploma /PG Diploma / B.Ed. Sp. Ed. (HI) / Ph.D. / Post Doctoral Fellowship)

  1. Diploma in Hearing Aid & Ear Mould Technology
    • 12th /II PUC /Diploma in Electronics/ITI)
  2. Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education (Hearing Impairment)
    • The candidate shall have passed 12th /II PUC
  3. Diploma in Hearing, Language & Speech through video conference mode
    • 12th /II PUC (Science stream)

For Bachelors Programmes

Entrance Examination

A. B.ASLP / BASLP

  • The syllabus for the entrance examination shall be CBSE (Class XI and XII)
  • The examination will be conducted in four subjects namely, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Students seeking admission for B.ASLP/BASLP may appear for any three of these
    papers as follows: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
    Note: The three papers chosen by the candidate should be clearly indicated in the admission ticket.
  • The examination is conducted in English.
  • The duration of each paper shall be 50 minutes with an additional 10 minutes for reading instructions and filling-up of personal details in the answer sheet.
  • Students have to answer 50 questions of multiple choice types, each carrying one mark, on a specially designed answer sheet which will be scanned and processed on a computer. Answers are to be marked using BLACK BALL POINT PEN only.
  • The candidate must retain a photocopy of his/her application form and the receipt, counterfoil of payment for future correspondence and for availing duplicate hall ticket, if required.
  • Under no circumstances re-examination will be conducted for those who fail to appear for the entrance examination on the scheduled date and time.
  • The candidates have to bring their admit card on the day of the entrance examination, without which they will not be permitted to take up the entrance examination.
  • Computerized valuation will be carried out at AIISH, Mysuru.
  • There is no negative marking for wrong answers for B.ASLP / BASLP program.
  • If more than one answer is indicated against a question, no marks will be awarded for the same.
  • Any form of overwriting and erasing on the answer sheets will be processed by the computer as an incorrect answer.
  • Based on the total marks obtained in the three subjects taken by the students, a merit list will be generated on percentile basis.
  • In case two or more candidates obtain same percentile (tie) in the entrance exam, then inter-se merit of such candidates shall be determined as follows:
    • Candidates who appeared for Biology paper of the entrance examination will get preference followed by Physics, Chemistry and the relative position of the two candidates will be decided on the marks obtained in these subjects.
    • In case of a tie even after the above conditions, the age of the candidate shall decide the ranking. Students who are older will be placed higher.
  • There is no provision for revaluation of answer sheets.
  • The All India Rank list will be announced on 2 nd June 2017. The results will be put on our website: www.aiishmysore.in along with the answer keys. Candidates selected in the merit list will be notified in our website www.aiishmysore.in. It may be noted that no individual communication would be sent in this regard. List of candidates called for counselling or waitlisted will be notified on our website only. Candidates and parents are advised to browse the website periodically for updated information.
  • Candidates selected for B.ASLP have to be prepared to travel to Mysuru (for admission) at short notice.

Note: Question papers of the Entrance Examination of the previous years (2015-16 & 2016-17) are available on payment of Rs.200 per set per year

B. M.Sc. (Speech-Language Pathology), M.Sc. (Audiology)

  • The duration of the examination shall be 90 minutes for M.Sc. (Speech-Language Pathology), M.Sc. (Audiology) with an additional 10 minutes for reading instructions and filling-up of personal particulars of the candidates in the answer sheet.
  • Students appearing for both M.Sc. (Speech-Language Pathology) and M.Sc. (Audiology) shall be given 180 minutes with an additional 20 minutes for reading instructions and filling-up of personal particulars of the candidates in the answer sheet.
  • Students appearing for both M.Sc. (Speech-Language Pathology) and M.Sc. (Audiology) have an option to take either of the exam they wish to write at 9.30 a.m.
  • Students have to answer 100 questions of multiple choice types, each carrying one mark on a specially designed answer sheet which will be scanned and processed on a computer
  • The candidates have to bring their admit card on the day of the entrance examination, without which they will not be permitted to take up the entrance examination.
  • Answers are to be marked using BLACK BALL POINT PEN ONLY.
  • Any form of overwriting and erasing in the answer sheets will be processed as incorrect answers.
  • There is negative marking for wrong answers calculated @ -0.25 marks per wrong answer.
  • If more than one answer is indicated against a question it will be processed as incorrect and negative marks will be awarded for the same.
  • The examination shall be conducted in Speech-Language Pathology for M.Sc. (Speech-Language Pathology) Audiology for applicants to M.Sc. (Audiology) are in covering the B.Sc. (Sp. & Hg.) / B.ASLP syllabus.
  • English is the medium of examination.
  • Under no circumstances will re-examination be conducted for those who fail to appear for the entrance examination on the scheduled date and time.
  • There is no provision for revaluation of answer sheets.
  • In case two or more candidates obtain same percentile (tie) in the entrance examination then inter-se merit of such candidates shall be determined as follows:
    • Aggregate of all the three years/6 semesters of the Bachelor‟s programme will be considered.
    • If there is a tie even after this, then marks of the final year shall be considered.
    • In case of a tie even after the above conditions, the age of the candidate shall decide the ranking. Students who are older will be placed higher.
  • Verification of documents will be done at the time of counselling/admission.
  • The select list will be announced on 2 nd June 2017 for M.Sc.( SLP/Aud). The candidates must be prepared to join the programme immediately.

Note: Entrance exam question papers of the previous years (2015-16 & 2016-17) are available on payment of Rs. 100/- per question paper per year for M.Sc. (SLP/Aud).

C. M.Ed. Sp. Ed. (HI)

  • The duration of the examination shall be 50 minutes with an additional 10 minutes for reading instructions and filling-up of personal particulars of the candidates in the answer sheet.
  • Students have to answer 50 questions of multiple choice types, each carrying one mark on a specially designed answer sheet which will be scanned and processed on a computer.
  • The candidates have to bring their admit card on the day of the entrance examination, without which they will not be permitted to take up the entrance examination.
  • Answers are to be marked using BLACK BALL POINT PEN ONLY.
  • Any form of overwriting and erasing in the answer sheets will be processed as incorrect answers.
  • If more than one answer is indicated against a question it will be processed as incorrect.
