AIISH Admission 2022 Application Form is available at aiishmysore.in. Candidates can fill their Applications at the official website in the online mode. They are advised must ensure their eligibility criteria before filling the Application form online. Following scanned documents are required and should have soft copies before filling this application form.

  • Candidates are instructed to go through the Prospectus uploaded in the AIISH website and understand and acquaint themselves.
  • Candidates should apply only ‘Online’ for B.ASLP / M.Sc. (Aud.)/M.Sc. (SLP) programmes. Candidates who wish to appear for both M.Sc. (Aud.)/M.Sc. (SLP) Entrance Examination should apply separately for M.Sc. (Aud.)/M.Sc. (SLP). 
  • For Non-entrance based programmes, the hardcopy of the application duly filled and signed should be sent to the Director, AIISH, Manasagangothri, Mysuru-570006 on or before the due date.
  • Online submission of Application form may be made by accessing the website http://www.aiishmysore.in and follow the instructions strictly. 
  • Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified.

For Diploma Programmes

  • Diploma in Hearing Aid & Ear Mould Technology (DHA & ET)
    • As per the regulations of Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) notification in their website: http://www.rehabcouncil.nic.in from time to time.
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education (Hearing Impairment)
    • As per the regulations of Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) notification in their website: http://www.rehabcouncil.nic.in from time to time.
  • Diploma in Hearing, Language & Speech (DHLS) through video conference mode
    • As per the regulations of Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) notification in their website: http://www.rehabcouncil.nic.in from time to time.
    • While submitting online application for AIOAT, the candidates should opt any of the above mentioned DHLS study centre (shown in the RCI website) to take admission.

For Bachelors Degree Programmes

  • B.ASLP
    • Admission to B.ASLP is open to candidates who have passed the 2-year Pre-University examination conducted by the Pre-University Board of the State of Karnataka or any other examination (10+2) considered as equivalent thereto by the University of Mysore.
    • Candidates who have obtained a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST) in the PCMB group or combinations thereof, in their II PUC or qualifying examination are eligible for admission.
    • Only those candidates who have studied at least three subjects from among Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Mathematics / Computer Science / Statistics / Electronics / Psychology are eligible for admission.
  • B. Ed. Sp. Ed. (HI)
    • Admission to B.Ed. Spl. Ed. (HI) is open to candidates who have passed any degree examination of the University of Mysore or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the University of Mysore.
    • Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 50% of the aggregate (45% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination.
    • Only those candidates who have not completed 30 years of age on the 1st of July of the academic year in which admission is sought are eligible for admission. Relaxation of age (up to 10 years) shall be considered for candidates on deputation/in-service.

For Master Degree Programmes

  • M.Sc. (Speech language pathology)
    • Students with a BASLP / B.Sc. (Speech & Hearing) degree fulfilling all the following criteria are eligible for admission.
      • BASLP / B.Sc. (Speech & Hearing) degree from the University of Mysore or any other University / Institute considered as equivalent.
      • An average of not less than 50% of marks or Equivalent CGPA in the qualifying examination.
      • Candidates with a B.ASLP of the, considered as equivalent thereto from all recognized institute [Note: „Average‟ refers to the average of the aggregate marks of all the years/semesters in UG. As per the latest guidelines issued by the UOM, in case a candidate has taken more than the normal duration prescribed to pass the degree examination, 3% of marks in the aggregate percentage is deducted for each extra year that the candidates has taken to pass the degree examination].
      • The program should be approved by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), excluding Institutes of National Importance and Foreign programs.
  • M.Sc. (Audiology)
    • Students with a BASLP / B.Sc. (Speech & Hearing) degree fulfilling all the following criteria are eligible for admission.
      • BASLP / B.Sc. (Speech & Hearing) degree from the University of Mysore or any other University / Institute considered as equivalent.

(HI) recognized by RCI of any other University considered as equivalent thereto with an average of not less than 50% (45% for SC/ST) of marks in the qualifying examination are eligible. At the time of admission, student should produce Degree Certificate as per the University of Mysore guidelines.
    • Only those candidates who have not completed 35 years of age as on 1st July of the academic year in which admission is sought are eligible for admission. Age relaxation of up to 5 years can be considered for candidates on deputation/in-service with the approval of the University of Mysore.

For Doctoral Programmes

  • Ph.D. (SLP)-JRF
    • Candidates should have passed M.Sc. (SLP) / M.Sc. (Aud) / M.Sc. (Sp. & Hg.) / MASLP / M.ASLP degree examination of the University of Mysore or any other examination considered equivalent by the University of Mysore with a minimum of 55% (50% in the case of SC/ST) marks.
    • One year work / research experience after M.Sc. (SLP) / M.Sc. (Aud) / M.Sc. (Sp. & Hg.) / MASLP / M.ASLP.
    • Candidates should have passed the entrance examination for Ph.D. conducted by University of Mysore.
  • Ph.D. (Aud) – JRF
    • Candidates should have passed M.Sc. (Aud) / M.Sc. (SLP) / M.Sc. (Sp. & Hg.) / MASLP / M.ASLP degree examination of the University of Mysore or any other examination considered equivalent by the University of Mysore with a minimum of 55% (50% in the case of SC/ST) marks.
    • One year work / research experience after M.Sc. (Aud) / M.Sc. (SLP) / M.Sc. (Sp. & Hg.) / MASLP / M.ASLP.
    • Candidates should have passed the entrance examination for Ph.D. conducted by University of Mysore.
  • Ph.D. (Speech & Hearing)
    • Candidates should have passed M.Sc. (Aud) / M.Sc. (SLP) / M.Sc. (Sp. & Hg.) / MASLP / M.ASLP degree examination of the University of Mysore or any other examination considered equivalent by the University of Mysore with a minimum of 55% (50% in the case of SC/ST/PH) marks.
    • One year work / research experience after M.Sc. (Aud) / M.Sc. (SLP) / M.Sc. (Sp. & Hg.) / MASLP / M.ASLP.
    • Candidates should have passed the entrance examination for Ph.D.in Speech and Hearing conducted by University of Mysore.
  • The Institute also offers Ph.D. programmes to external candidates (including in-service candidates) in the areas related to speech, language and hearing.
    • Candidates must have passed M.Sc. (Audiology) / M.Sc. (Speech-Language Pathology) / M.Sc. (Speech and Hearing) / MASLP / M.ASLP degree examination of the University of Mysore or any other examination considered equivalent thereto by the University of Mysore, with a minimum of 55% (50% in the case of SC/ST and candidates from SAARC countries).
    • One year work / research experience (exempted for in-service candidates) after M.Sc. (Audiology) / M.Sc. (Speech-Language Pathology) / M.Sc. (Speech and Hearing) / MASLP.

For Postdoctoral programme

  • AIISH Post Doctoral Fellowship
    • Ph.D. from a recognized University in the area of speech, language, and/or hearing.
    • Research experience in any Institution supported by a certificate by the Head of the Institution is desirable.
    • At least two publications as the main author singly/jointly in indexed journals.

For Certificate Programme

  • Certificate Course for Care Givers of Children with Developmental Disabilities
    • SSLC or its equivalent from any recognized board with ability to read and write any native language.
    • Parents or caregivers of children with disabilities will be preferred.

In order to prepare for the AIISH Entrance Exam, candidates must take the mock test. AIISH 2022 Result/Merit List

AIISH Entrance Exam 2022 provisional merit list releases for M.Sc Speech-Language Pathology. AIISH Admission 2022 merit list is released online at aiishmysore.in. Candidates can check the same from the link which is provided below. Candidates are called in the order of their rank in the merit list for personal interview/counselling. Students selected shall be admitted on payment of the prescribed admission fees. Selected candidates must download and print their Results for future references.

Diploma in Hearing Aid and Ear Mould Technology (DHA & ET)

This programme aims at training the students in the maintenance and repair of hearing aids and preparation of ear mould. The focus is more on practical training and the student trainees are given hands-on experience in the repair of different types of hearing aids and preparation of ear moulds.

Mode of Selection

The marks obtained in the qualifying examination i.e., AIOAT conducted by Rehabilitation Council of India for the current academic year will be considered fThe marks obtained in AIOAT conducted by Rehabilitation Council of India for the current academic year will be considered for selection of candidates, as notified by RCI from time to time. The candidates who have passed the AIOAT will be admitted at the institute through online admission process. Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education (Hearing Impairment) (DECSE(HI))

This diploma programme helps in generating manpower that will cater to the needs of children with hearing impairment below 3 years of age and their caregivers. Those trained would be able to help children with hearing impairment to be equipped with pre-school and pre-academic skills. This would enable these children to learn a school curriculum more easily.

Mode of Selection

The marks obtained in AIOAT conducted by Rehabilitation Council of India for the current academic year will be considered for selection of candidates, as notified by RCI from time to time. The candidates who have passed the AIOAT will be admitted at the Institute through online admission process. In addition, the candidate should submit the AIISH application form for DECSE (HI) programme at the time of admission with prescribed fee along with relevant documents.

Diploma in Hearing, Language and Speech (DHLS)

This programme is designed to generate manpower that will cater to the needs of individuals with communication disorders at the grass-root level. In this programme, the students are trained to identify individuals with communication disorders and make appropriate referrals for further diagnosis. The students are also trained to supervise the caregivers in following the guidelines given by professionals for rehabilitation. Extensive practical training is given to supplement the theoretical knowledge.

The programme is conducted at the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysuru along with eight other study centres across the country. Theory classes will be conducted at AIISH which is beamed in real time to the study centres through video-conferencing. Practical classes will be conducted at each study centre which will be supervised by the staff of the centre.

Mode of Selection

Selection is purely on the basis of “All India Online Aptitude Test (AIOAT)” conducted by the Rehabilitation Council of India, New Delhi”. The marks obtained in the AIOAT will be considered for selection of candidates for admission as per the RCI guidelines. In addition, the candidates seeking admission under DHLS program should submit the AIISH application form to the respect study centres of their choice with prescribed fee along with relevant documents.

Bachelor of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (B.ASLP)

The undergraduate students of B.ASLP learn about the normal aspects and disorders of speech, language and hearing. The students are trained in evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and management of communication disorders. The training includes theoretical and practical aspects, with focus on clinical teaching-learning. The students get hands-on experience in dealing with clients under the supervision of qualified staff.

Mode of Selection

An all India entrance examination will be conducted by the All India Institute of Speech & Hearing for admission to the B.ASLP programme at various centres. All students except those applying under the foreign quota, will have to write the entrance examination in 3 of the 4 subjects, i.e., Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and either Biology or Mathematics. Bachelor of Education Special Education (Hearing Impairment) [B.Ed. Sp. Ed.(HI)]

Candidates who undergo the Bachelor of Education – Special Education (Hearing Impairment) would learn approaches and methods for educational management of children with hearing impairment. The B.Ed. Spl. Ed. (HI) is a special programme which prepares special educators. With the perspective of capacity building to meet the vision of India „Education for All‟, Faculty in the field of speech and hearing as well as special education and other related disciplines conduct this programme. The course fulfills the needs of planning educational programs, making policy decision and serving as master trainers in the area of special education.

Mode of Selection
The marks obtained in the qualifying examination will be considered for selection of candidates. In case of tie, older candidates will be placed at higher merit position.

M.Sc. (Speech-Language Pathology)

The Postgraduate programme in Speech-Language Pathology is geared towards imparting advanced knowledge and skills as applicable to the profession of Speech-Language Pathology. The programme is designed to develop manpower to contribute to theoretical, clinical, research, field-based and technology based knowledge to the discipline of Speech-Language Pathology. The programme focuses on differential diagnosis and management of communication disorders and conduct research to further the profession in the country.

Mode of Selection:

An entrance examination based on the B.ASLP syllabus of RCI will be conducted at various centres for the selection of candidates. Admission shall be made only on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance examination conducted by the institute for this purpose. M.Sc. (Audiology)

The post-graduate programme in Audiology is geared for students who yearn for in-depth knowledge and skills in the field. As it is difficult to specialize in all aspects of communication sciences while carrying out a composite master‟s programme, AIISH is offering specialization at the master‟s level. The post-graduate programme in Audiology focuses in providing detailed information about normal aspects of the auditory system as well as on differential diagnosis and differential management of auditory disorders. In addition, the students are also trained on relevant aspects pertaining to disabilities and to identify research needs and plan research that would help in upgrading diagnostic and rehabilitative services.

Mode of Selection: An entrance examination based on the B.ASLP syllabus of RCI will be conducted at various centres for the selection of candidates. Admission shall be made only on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance examination conducted by the institute for this purpose. Master of Education Special Education (Hearing Impairment) – M.Ed. Spl. Ed.:

M.Ed.Spl.Ed. (HI) is offered to fulfil the needs of planning educational programmes, making policy decisions and serving as master trainers in the area of special education.

Mode of Selection: An entrance examination based on B.S.Ed. (HI) / B.Ed. Spl. Ed. (HI) syllabus will be conducted at AIISH for the selection of candidates. Admission shall be made only on the basis of percentile rank in the entrance examination conducted by the institute for this purpose. The number of questions to be answered shall be 50 in duration of 50 minutes. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. In case of tie, older candidates will be placed at higher merit position.

Ph.D. (Speech-Language Pathology): The doctoral programme is geared towards increasing quality and quantity of research in the area of Speech-Language Pathology, Speech Sciences & Language Sciences. Several of the faculty of AIISH are recognized by the University of Mysore as Ph.D. guides. The institute has state-of-the-art facilities in terms of equipment, clientele and collaboration to undertake research in a wide range of areas under Speech and Language Sciences and Speech & Language Pathology.

Mode of Selection:

  • Candidates have to pass the entrance examination conducted by the University of Mysore. Exemption from entrance examination is as per University of Mysore regulations.
  • Candidates who have passed entrance examination need to appear for an interview before a selection committee constituted for the purpose by the Director of the institute. Based on the merit list and availability of seats, candidates are admitted to the Ph.D. programme.

Ph.D. (Audiology)

The programme aims at increasing the quality and quantity of research in the area of Audiology and Hearing Sciences. The faculty of AIISH are recognized by the University of Mysore as guides for Ph.D. The institute has state-of-the-art test facilities and equipment, clientele and collaboration to undertake research in a wide range of area under Audiology and Hearing Sciences. The areas include auditory physiology, psychophysics, speech perception, Diagnostic Audiology, Rehabilitation Audiology, Industrial and Forensic Audiology, Educational Audiology, Paediatric and Geriatric Audiology.

Mode of Selection:

  • Candidates have to pass the entrance examination conducted by the University of Mysore. Exemption from entrance examination is as per University of Mysore regulations.
  • Candidates who have passed entrance examination need to appear for an interview before a selection committee constituted for the purpose by the Director of the institute. Based on the merit list and availability of seats, candidates are admitted to the Ph.D. programme.
  • The candidates are governed by the rules and regulations of AIISH Fellowship. d) The candidates will have to undergo a 16 week course work stipulated by the University of Mysore and pass in the examination before they can register for Ph.D.

Ph.D. (Speech-Language Pathology), Ph.D. (Audiology), Ph.D. (Speech & Hearing)

The Institute also offers Ph.D. programmes to external candidates (including in service candidates) in the areas related to speech, language and hearing.

Mode of Selection

The Institute has been recognised as a Research Centre for Ph.D. in Special Education. Admission eligibility and regulation is as per University of Mysore Regulations. Candidate enrolled for Ph.D. program should pay annual fee prescribed for Ph.D. programmes to the AIISH. However, the application would be forwarded only if the candidate fulfils the University of Mysore Ph.D. regulations and also recommendation from the guide.

Ph.D. (Linguistics)

The Institute has been recognised as a Research Centre for Ph.D. in Linguistics. Admission eligibility and regulation is as per University of Mysore Regulations. Candidate enrolled for Ph.D. program should pay annual fee prescribed for Ph.D. programmes to the AIISH. However, the application would be forwarded only if the candidate fulfils the University of Mysore Ph.D. regulations and also recommendation from the guide.

Post Doctoral Programs: The programme is geared towards increasing quality and quantity of research in the area of Speech and Hearing.

Mode of Selection: Candidates fulfilling the eligibility requirements are selected after an interview by the Selection Committee constituted for the purpose by the Director of the institute.

About AIISH 2022

The All India Institute of Speech and Hearing was established in the year 1966 as an autonomous institute fully funded by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The institute started with one post-graduate program in the year 1965 and now offers many courses including one Certificate course, 3 Diploma programs (Diploma in Hearing Aid & Earmould Technology, Diploma in Training Young Hearing Impaired Children and Diploma in Hearing Language and Speech-through distance mode); 2 undergraduate programs (B.Sc. in Speech & Hearing and B.S.Ed – Hearing-Impairment); PG Diploma programs in Clinical Linguistics and Forensic Speech Science and Technology; 3 post-graduate courses (M.Sc. in Audiology, M.Sc. in Speech-Language Pathology and M.S.Ed-Hearing-Impairment). The Institute offers Ph.D programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology and also Post-Doctoral Fellowships.
