What is the AP DEECET Entrance Exam?
AP DEECET stands for Andhra Pradesh Diploma in Elementary Education Common Entrance Test. It was earlier known as DIETCET (District Institutes of Education and Training Common Entrance Test), and many candidates still search for it as AP DIETCET or DIET CET. It is a state-level online CBT conducted every year by the Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, for admission to the 2-year D.El.Ed course at Government DIETs and Private Elementary Teacher Training Institutions in the state. Around 1.3-1.5 lakh candidates appear each year for approximately 27,000 D.El.Ed seats. AP DEECET 2026 will determine D.El.Ed admissions for the academic year 2026-27.

AP DEECET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Indian citizen; should satisfy Local / Non-Local status requirements of Andhra Pradesh.
- Educational Qualification: Pass in 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% for SC / ST / PwD).
- Age: 17 to 25 years as on 1 September 2026 (age relaxation as per government norms for reserved categories).
- Candidates with vocational stream are not eligible.
