The Uttarakhand D.El.Ed. Entrance Exam (also referred to as Uttarakhand BTC Entrance Exam) stands for Uttarakhand Diploma in Elementary Education Entrance Examination. It is organised by Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE) and is a state-level Education entrance exam for admissions to the 2-year D.El.Ed. training programme in the 13 DIETs of Uttarakhand. Counselling and district allotment after the exam is conducted by SCERT Uttarakhand (State Council of Educational Research and Training) at its auditorium in Nanurkhera, Dehradun.

Uttarakhand D.El.Ed. Application Form 2026-27
The Uttarakhand D.El.Ed. Application Form is released by UBSE on its official portal ukdeled.com. In the 2025-26 cycle, applications were open from 07 September to 06 October 2025. For 2026-27, the dates are yet to be announced. Once the notification is out, interested and eligible candidates must register and apply online through ukdeled.com only.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for Uttarakhand D.El.Ed.:
- Age: 19 to 30 years as on 01 July of the exam year (relaxation in upper age as per government rules for SC/ST/OBC/PH etc.).
- Educational Qualification: Must have completed a Graduate Degree from a recognised university before the publication of the official notification. Candidates whose results are awaited are not eligible.
- Science Group: B.Sc. graduates, and B.Tech/B.Pharma/BBA/BCA graduates who passed Intermediate in Science stream. B.Sc. Agriculture graduates may also apply under Science category.
- Arts/Non-Science Group: B.A. graduates, and BBA/BCA graduates who passed Intermediate in Humanities. B.Com graduates may also apply under Non-Science (Arts) category.
- Domicile: Uttarakhand domicile/permanent resident certificate required at counselling stage.

Exam Pattern and Selection Process
The Uttarakhand D.El.Ed. Entrance Exam is a written objective-type test. Key highlights of the exam pattern are:

- Maximum Marks: 200 (1 mark per question)
- Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes (10:00 AM to 12:30 PM)

- Total Seats: 650 (50 seats per DIET across 13 districts); 50% Science category, 50% Non-Science category

Candidates are selected purely on merit in the entrance exam. District-wise and category-wise merit lists are prepared separately. Counselling is conducted by SCERT Uttarakhand at Nanurkhera, Dehradun. Candidates must indicate their first preference as their home district. Exam is held at 29 cities across all 13 districts of Uttarakhand.

Admit Card
The Uttarakhand D.El.Ed. Admit Card is released by UBSE about two weeks before the exam on the portal ukdeled.com. In 2025, admit cards were available from 08 November 2025. Candidates who could not download the admit card online could collect it offline at designated Nodal Exam Centres from 20–21 November 2025. For 2026-27, the admit card download date is tentative. Answer Key
UBSE releases the Uttarakhand D.El.Ed. Answer Key for all sets (Set A, B, C, D) within 2 days of the exam at ubse.uk.gov.in. In 2025, the provisional answer key was released on 24 November 2025, and the final answer key was released on 30 December 2025. Candidates can submit objections by email within a specified window. Result and Counselling
The Uttarakhand D.El.Ed. Result (Provisional Merit/Selection List for Science and Arts groups) is declared by UBSE at ubse.uk.gov.in and ukdeled.com. In 2025-26, the result was declared on 30 December 2025. After result, SCERT Uttarakhand conducts state-level counselling where candidates fill a choice form for all 13 DIETs (home district as first preference). No, there is no negative marking in the Uttarakhand D.El.Ed. Entrance Exam. The paper has 200 MCQs carrying 1 mark each (total 200 marks) to be completed in 2 hours 30 minutes.
50% of the 650 seats are reserved for Science Group candidates (B.Sc., B.Tech./B.Pharma./BBA/BCA with Intermediate in Science, or B.Sc. Agriculture) and the remaining 50% for Non-Science/Arts Group candidates (B.A., BBA/BCA with Intermediate in Humanities, B.Com). Both groups appear in the same entrance exam.
Admission is based on entrance exam performance. UBSE conducts a written objective entrance exam, and separate district-wise and category-wise merit lists are prepared on the basis of marks obtained. There is no direct merit-based admission through marks at graduation level.
