Who can apply for AIN Guwahati M.Sc Nursing 2027?
Women nurses with a B.Sc Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing degree, Nursing Council registration and work experience can apply. Both Defence and Civilian category candidates are admitted, and the two categories pay different fees. In 2026 every waitlisted candidate was from the Civilian category.
- Passed B.Sc Nursing (all four years) or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing (both years), with mark sheets.
- Registration with a Nursing Council, plus an NRTS registration card.
- Work experience, shown by an experience certificate from the employer.
- Defence category: Certificate 1, service certificate or PPO of the service member.
- Civilian category: Permanent Residential Certificate.
- Government or other serving employees: NOC from the appointing authority.
AIN has not put the minimum marks or the exact experience rule on its website, so confirm them in the PGWAT 2027 notice. Eligibility is checked again by AIN and the university at counselling, and an ineligible candidate’s admission is cancelled with only the security deposit refunded.

Candidates are called in order of PGWAT merit, and final admission depends on checking the original documents at the institute. In 2026, 12 candidates were called in the first merit list and 16 were placed on a waitlist that moves up in order of merit.
- AIN publishes the merit list of candidates selected for counselling on its website.
- Selected candidates who want to join send a willingness certificate in the format attached to the notice (by 30 August in 2026).
- Counselling cum admission is held at AIN Guwahati, C/O 151 Base Hospital, Basistha, with original documents and two photocopies.
- Candidates who are admitted pay the first instalment by demand draft. Unfilled seats go to the waitlist.
Bring proof of age (Class 10), the Class 12 pass certificate, B.Sc or PB B.Sc Nursing pass certificate and mark sheets, Nursing Council registration, experience certificate, migration certificate if needed, category certificate, Aadhaar card, NRTS card and four passport photos. SSUHS graduates also bring their SSUHS registration certificate.
