Is there an entrance exam for AP ANM 2026-27?
No. AP ANM admission has no entrance test. Under the CH&FW notification of 14 June 2026, district selection committees select candidates purely on merit, using the aggregate marks in the Intermediate Public Examination or its equivalent, in any group.
Candidates who passed under the compartmental system are placed after those who passed in a single attempt. If two candidates have the same marks, age decides who is selected.

How to Apply for AP ANM 2026-27
You apply offline: download the form from cfw.ap.nic.in and submit it to the District Medical & Health Officer (DM&HO) of the district where the institute is located. For 2026-27 the last date is extended to 31 October 2026, and CH&FW says there will be no further extension.
Apply Online for AP ANM 2026
Applications for AP ANM 2026 are open: 19 June to 31 October 2026. Last date extended: registration fee and offline application to the district DM&HO up to 31 October 2026.
- Download the MPHW(F)/ANM admission application form from the CH&FW website and fill every mandatory field as instructed.
- Fill separate forms for Free seats and Management seats if you want both in a private institute of that district.
- Attach photocopies of your SSC certificate, Intermediate certificate, caste certificate (SC, ST and BC only) and residence or study certificate for Class 4 to 10.
- Attach a Rs 50 demand draft in favour of the Commissioner of Health & Family Welfare, A.P., unless you are a BC, SC or ST candidate.
- Submit the form to the DM&HO office of the district by 5 PM on the last date, in person or by registered post with acknowledgement.

Who can apply for AP ANM 2026-27?
Female candidates who have passed Intermediate (10+2) in any group can apply. The full conditions are below.
- Education: Intermediate pass with any group, or an equivalent exam.
- Gender: the course is for female candidates only (Multipurpose Health Workers, Female).
- Minimum age: 17 years completed as on 31 December of the admission year (G.O.Ms.No.99 of 2014).
- Upper age limit: none, as per Indian Nursing Council Notification 11 of 2023.
How is the AP ANM 2026-27 selection list prepared?
Each district has a selection committee that ranks applicants on Intermediate aggregate marks and fills the free seats in that district. The committee members are listed below.
- Joint Collector of the district: Chairman.
- District Medical & Health Officer (DM&HO): Member-Convener.
- Superintendent of the District Headquarters Hospital: Member.
- Principal of the training institute concerned: Member.
Private institutes must admit candidates in the order of rank given by the committee for their free seats. Selection lists are published district-wise by the DM&HOs, not on a single state website, so check with the DM&HO office or the institute you applied to. Approved lists then go to CH&FW.
How are seats filled in government and private ANM institutes?
All seats in government institutes are free seats. Private institutes split their intake between free seats filled by the committee and management seats filled by the institute.

Management-quota candidates must also fill the application form, and the institute sends its list, with each candidate’s photo, to the committee for approval. Rules of reservation, local-area reservation and the ex-servicemen and PH quotas apply to both kinds of seats. Unfilled reserved seats stay vacant.
Which institutes offer ANM in Andhra Pradesh in 2026-27?
Only institutes on the lists of the AP Nurses and Midwives Council (APNMC) can admit students in 2026-27. The first list in the notification annexure had 39 institutes, the second list of 29 July 2026 added 6 and the third list of 24 September 2026 added 7.
CH&FW says it is not responsible for admissions in institutes that are not on these lists. Institutes that had no admissions in the previous two consecutive years are also not eligible this year. Check the lists before you pay any fee.
What is the MPHW(F) / ANM course?
MPHW(F), Multipurpose Health Workers (Female), is the Andhra Pradesh name for the 2-year Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) course. It is taught in government and private training institutes, and admission happens once a year as per Indian Nursing Council rules.
This admission covers only the ANM course. The 3-year GNM course has a separate admission run by the Director of Medical Education, AP.
