How to Apply for Azim Premji University NET 2027
You apply online on the university’s admissions portal and pay an application fee of INR 500. The same form is used whether you take the NET or apply with an accepted external score. Round 1 applications for UG and PG close on 20 November 2026.

- Open the Azim Premji University application portal and sign up as a new applicant.
- Fill in the online form with your personal and educational details and choose your programme.
- Choose whether you will take the NET or submit an accepted external score such as CUET or SAT.
- Pay the application fee of INR 500 online and submit the form by 20 November 2026 for Round 1.
- If you take the NET, appear at your test centre on 20 December 2026. Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview.

ITEP BSc BEd applicants must also register for NCET 2027 on the National Testing Agency website, because ITEP admission uses the NCET score.
Can you apply with CUET, SAT or JEE scores instead of the NET?
Yes. Azim Premji University accepts some external test scores in place of its own NET. The external score application form is expected to open around May to June 2027.

The Admissions Committee sets the cut-offs for external scores, and only shortlisted applicants are called for the interview.
Who can apply for Azim Premji University NET 2027?
UG applicants must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 and fall within the age limit; PG applicants need a bachelor’s degree. No minimum percentage is stated on the official eligibility pages.
- UG (BA, BSc, ITEP): Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board in India or abroad, passed or appearing.
- UG age: 17 years 6 months to 21 years as on 1 July 2027. Older applicants are considered only in exceptional cases.
- IB students need at least 24 credits (3 HL and 3 SL subjects); A Level students need at least 3 subjects.
- MA Development, MA Education, MA ECCE and MPH: a bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Final-year students can apply.
- MA Economics and MA Applied Economics: a bachelor’s degree in any discipline; Economics is preferred but not required.
- MSc Climate Change and Sustainability: a bachelor’s or master’s degree in any discipline. Final-year students can apply.
- Executive MBA: a 4-year bachelor’s degree (or 3-year degree plus a master’s) and at least 2 years of full-time work after graduation.
What is the Azim Premji University NET 2027 exam pattern?
The UG NET is a 3-hour test of 60 multiple-choice questions with no negative marking. PG papers are programme-specific and add descriptive essays.

The Round 1 NET on 20 December 2026 is a centre-based test in 48 cities across India, as per the official test centre list. The cities include Bengaluru, Bhopal, New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Patna, Ranchi, Lucknow, Jaipur and Guwahati. The Executive MBA NET is remote proctored, so you take it from home on a laptop with a webcam and a stable internet connection.

What happens after the Azim Premji University NET?
Candidates who do well in the NET or in an accepted external test are shortlisted for a personal interview. For Round 1, interviews are from 4 to 8 January 2027; UG interviews are held online.
- PG interviews may be online or at a university centre and focus on your motivation, commitment to social issues and academic background.
- Working professionals with at least 2 years of full-time experience applying for MSc Climate Change and Sustainability go straight to the interview.
- Shortlisted UG students must complete a mandatory academic support course before the first semester.
- PG classes begin in July 2027 and UG classes in August 2027.
What are the fees at Azim Premji University for the 2027 batch?
