AMU has not released its 2027-28 admission schedule yet, so the 2027 dates below are expected from the 2026 pattern, when forms opened on 1 February 2026 and tests ran from 12 April to 14 June 2026.

Which courses need the AMU Entrance Exam 2027?
Most AMU courses need AMU’s own admission test, but some now admit through national tests run by NTA or other bodies. This is how AMU selected students in 2026-27:

How to Apply for AMU Entrance Exam 2027
You apply for each AMU course online on amucontrollerexams.com, once AMU publishes its Guide to Admissions 2027-28. One registration is enough, but you fill a separate form and pay separate charges for every course. In 2026, UG test courses closed on 28 February 2026 and most PG courses on 5 April 2026.
Apply Online for AMU Entrance Exam 2027
Applications for AMU Entrance Exam 2027 are expected in February 2027.
- Open amucontrollerexams.com and register with a username, password, your own email address and your name exactly as in your Class 10 certificate.
- Log in to your dashboard and fill your profile carefully. You cannot edit it after you confirm it.
- Add your educational qualifications. If a result is awaited, write “RA” in the result column.
- Upload your photo, signature and left thumb impression (JPG, 20 KB to 200 KB each) and the documents asked for, such as your date-of-birth proof and marksheet.
- Choose the course, claim any special category and pick your test centre preference.
- Pay the processing charges online by UPI, net banking, debit or credit card. The form counts as submitted only when the payment shows on your dashboard.
- Save a printout of the submitted form for later.

Who can apply for AMU Entrance Exam 2027?
You can apply if you meet the eligibility of the course you choose. AMU sets it course by course. These are the main rules in the 2026-27 Guide to Admissions:
- B.Tech: Class 12 with at least 50% in aggregate of English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, or an AMU Diploma in Engineering with 50%.
- BA LLB: Class 12 with at least 50% aggregate, or the AMU Bridge Course with 50%.
- B.Com (Hons) and BBA: Class 12 with at least 50% aggregate; maximum age 24 years on 1 July of the admission year.
- BA (Hons): Class 12 with at least 50% aggregate, or a recognised Madarsa degree with 50%; maximum age 24 years.
- B.Sc (Hons): Class 12 with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (or Geography or Computer Science) with 50%; Biology is needed for a Botany or Zoology major.
- MBA: a bachelor’s degree in any subject with at least 50% aggregate.
AMU does not round off marks, so 49.9% does not count as 50%. Students awaiting their Class 12 or degree result can apply, but must meet every rule by counselling. Madarsa pass-outs get up to 3 years of relaxation in the maximum age.
What is the AMU Entrance Exam 2027 exam pattern?
Each AMU test is one offline objective paper, answered on an OMR sheet, usually 100 questions in 2 hours. These are the 2026-27 papers for the main courses:

A wrong answer costs a quarter of the question’s marks, except in the B.Sc Nursing, PhD and Community College vocational tests. You need at least 20% marks in the test to be considered for admission. Course-wise topics are on the AMU Entrance Exam 2027 syllabus page.
Where are the AMU Entrance Exam 2027 test centres?
Big AMU tests are held in several cities, while smaller and departmental tests are held only in Aligarh. These were the 2026-27 centres:

You choose a centre preference in the form, but AMU can allot any centre, and you can only sit the test at the centre printed on your admit card.
How does AMU give admission after the 2027 tests?
AMU puts up course-wise answer keys for a 48-hour challenge, then declares results as Select Lists and Chance Memo Lists, and admits students through online counselling on counselling.amuonline.ac.in.
- Check the AMU Entrance Exam 2027 result for your course on the AMU results portal.
- If your roll number is on the Select or Chance Memo List, register on the counselling portal, upload your documents and fill your preferences.
- Check the firm admission list and pay the admission fee by the deadline.
- Report in person with your original documents for verification.
- Watch for later rounds and mop-up rounds, which fill vacant seats. A seat in a higher preference is upgraded automatically unless you choose to freeze it.
AMU sends no letters to selected students. All lists appear only on its website, so you must check it yourself.
