What is the course-wise AMU Entrance Exam 2027 syllabus?
Each AMU test has its own sections, so your syllabus depends on your course. These are the sections and marks in the 2026-27 Guide to Admissions:

What is the AMU Entrance Exam 2027 marking scheme?
Each correct answer gets the marks shown for it, and a wrong answer loses 25% of the question’s marks: 0.25 for a 1-mark question. Marking more than one option counts as wrong.
- No negative marking in the B.Sc Nursing, PhD and Community College vocational tests.
- The paper is in English, unless it is a language paper.
- You fill the OMR entries in the first 15 minutes; the 2-hour test time starts when the question booklet is handed out.
- You need at least 20% marks in the test to be considered for admission.

How to prepare for the AMU Entrance Exam 2027 syllabus?
- Start from the section marks above. In BA (Hons), General Aptitude alone is half the paper, and in BA LLB, English and current affairs make up 80 marks.
- For B.Tech, B.Sc (Hons) and B.Sc Nursing, revise your Class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology textbooks thoroughly.
- For BA (Hons), read about Indo-Islamic culture and the Aligarh Movement, which few other entrance tests ask about.
- For BA LLB, B.Com, BBA and MBA, read a newspaper daily and practise reasoning and numerical questions under time.
- Practise on OMR sheets with a 2-hour timer, and skip guesses you are unsure of, since each wrong answer costs 0.25 mark.

AMU Entrance Exam Syllabus 2027 FAQs
Is the AMU syllabus the same for every course?
No. Each course has its own test with its own sections. B.Tech tests Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, while BA LLB tests English, current affairs and reasoning.
Does the AMU BA (Hons) test ask about the Aligarh Movement?
Yes. In 2026-27, the BA (Hons) paper had a 25-mark section on Indo-Islamic Culture and the Aligarh Movement, along with English and General Aptitude.
Will the AMU syllabus change for 2027?
AMU has not announced any change yet. Check the official syllabus page and the Guide to Admissions 2027-28, expected around February 2027, before you finalise your preparation.
Is there a syllabus for CUET-route AMU courses?
For courses that admit through CUET-UG, such as BA (Hons) Hindi or B.Sc (Hons) Statistics, there is no AMU test. You prepare for the CUET-UG subjects that AMU asks for.
