Chhattisgarh GNM Admission 2027 is the merit-based admission to the 3-year General Nursing and Midwifery diploma in Chhattisgarh’s government and private nursing schools for the 2027-28 session. The Commissionerate of Medical Education (CME), Raipur runs it through online counselling. There is no entrance test, merit uses Class 12 marks, and dates are not announced yet.

Is there an entrance exam for Chhattisgarh GNM 2027?
No. Under the Chhattisgarh Nursing Course Admission Rules 2019, GNM seats are filled by the Commissionerate of Medical Education on merit of Class 12 marks, with priority for candidates from the Biology group (Physics, Chemistry, Biology). B.Sc Nursing is different: it needs the state nursing entrance test.
The same merit rule applies to government seats, the government quota of private nursing schools and their management (open) quota seats. A private school cannot admit students directly; only seats allotted by the CME counselling committee are valid.

How to Apply for Chhattisgarh GNM Admission 2027
You apply by registering online for CME’s GNM counselling when the notice is released on cgdme.in. Details you enter, such as domicile, category, cadre and seat type, cannot be changed after the registration deadline, so read the notice first.
Apply Online for CG GNM 2027
The CG GNM 2027 application dates have not been announced yet.
- Open the GNM page on cgdme.in and read the 2027-28 admission notice and schedule.
- Register online on the counselling portal linked in the notice with your personal, Class 12 and category details.
- Pay the online counselling fee and keep the payment receipt.
- Check the merit list and fill your choice of nursing schools in order of preference within the given dates.
- Check the allotment result on the website and download your allotment letter.
- Report in person to the allotted school with original documents by the last date on the allotment letter.

Who can apply for Chhattisgarh GNM 2027?
You can apply if you have passed Class 12 and meet the age, domicile and Indian Nursing Council (INC) rules adopted by Chhattisgarh.
- Nationality: Indian citizen.
- Domicile: native (mool niwasi) of Chhattisgarh. Only the unreserved management (open) quota seats of private schools are open to candidates from other states.
- Qualification: Class 12 passed with at least 40% marks (35% for SC and ST) under the 2019 rules. Where INC or the state nursing council sets minimum marks, those apply (2022 amendment).
- Age: at least 17 years and at most 35 years, counted on 31 December of the admission year.
- Gender: government nursing schools and women-only private schools admit female candidates only.
A candidate with a pending criminal case or under suspension cannot use the in-service quota. All other eligibility conditions are checked again at document verification.
How is the Chhattisgarh GNM merit list prepared?
CME ranks candidates by their Class 12 marks, and Biology group candidates are placed ahead. Ties are broken in a fixed order.

Separate category-wise lists are made for SC, ST and OBC candidates and for in-service candidates, along with a combined list for all.
How does Chhattisgarh GNM counselling work?
Counselling is online, in two allotment rounds, followed by a final mop-up round for seats that stay vacant.
- Round 1: seats are allotted by merit and your choices. If you get a government seat you must join it, or you leave the counselling.
- If you get a private seat, document verification at the school is compulsory, but you may choose to stay in for Round 2 without joining.
- Round 2: candidates who opted for upgradation, and those still unallotted, are allotted by merit. If upgraded, you must take the new seat, and the first seat is released.
- Mop-up round: remaining vacant seats are filled online or offline, as the notice says. Candidates who refused a government seat earlier are not eligible.
If you leave a seat before the Round 2 joining deadline, 10% of the tuition fee is kept as processing fee. Leaving after that deadline means paying the bond amount set in the notice.
How are Chhattisgarh GNM seats reserved?
Seats are reserved category-wise in every school, on both government seats and the government quota of private schools, as per the 2019 Admission Rules.

In private schools, 40% of seats are government quota and 60% are management (open) quota; minority schools have 30% and 70%. Category reservation follows the state’s orders in force, so check the 2027-28 notice.
Which documents do you need for Chhattisgarh GNM 2027?
Carry original documents to the allotted school, which verifies them before admission.
- Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets (Class 10 or Class 12 record, or birth certificate, as age proof)
- Chhattisgarh domicile (mool niwasi) certificate
- Permanent caste certificate issued in Chhattisgarh, for SC, ST and OBC
- Disability certificate from the State Medical Board, for the PwD quota (district or divisional board certificates are not accepted)
- Sainik or freedom fighter certificate from the competent authority, if claiming that quota
- Allotment letter and counselling fee receipt
For in-service candidates, a no-objection permission from the forwarding authority (Director of Health Services or Director of Medical Education) is also needed.
What is the GNM course in Chhattisgarh?
GNM is a 3-year diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery, taught in nursing schools approved by the nursing council. After passing, you register with the state nursing council as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN and RM), and can later join Post Basic B.Sc Nursing.
