What topics come in General Mental Ability?
General Mental Ability has 30 questions on reasoning, relationships, analogy, numerical ability and spatial sense. The official syllabus lists these question types:
- Odd one out
- Number series and letter series
- Relationships through letters, numbers and figures
- Coding (symbolic language)
- Hidden figures
- Squares and numbers, and mathematical operations
- Matching figures
- Cube-based patterns
What is asked in the General Knowledge section?
General Knowledge has 20 questions. Except for geography and general science, every topic is limited to India and Chhattisgarh.
- Indian history: cultural development, the freedom struggle from 1857 to 1947, events after 1947, reform movements and national integration
- Civics and political science: fundamental duties and rights, national symbols, the executive, the legislature and main constitutional provisions
- Economics: population, national and per capita income, the education budget, planning, agriculture, rural and industrial development, banking and current economic events
- Geography: the earth, natural resources, environment, vegetation, soils and the states of India
- General science: major inventions and inventors, health and population awareness
- Education: education commissions and policies, NCF 2005, NCF 2023, continuous and comprehensive evaluation, FLN, RTE Act 2009, NEP 2020, NCTE, NCERT, SCERT, sports, yoga and value education
What does the Teaching Aptitude section test?
Teaching Aptitude (Educational Interest) has 30 questions in two parts: your attitude to teaching, and basic pedagogy.
- Attitude towards children, adaptability, knowledge about the profession and interest in teaching, tested through statements
- Educational psychology of children aged 11 to 17 and how they learn
- Individual differences among children and planning teaching around their needs
- The teacher’s role as a facilitator in the classroom
- Classroom interaction and modern teaching methods and techniques
Which Hindi and English topics should I study?
General Hindi and General English have 10 questions each, on grammar, vocabulary and reading.
- Hindi: वर्ण विचार, शब्द रचना (उपसर्ग, प्रत्यय, समास, अनेक शब्दों के लिए एक शब्द)
- Hindi: तत्सम, तद्भव, देशज, विदेशी; पर्यायवाची, विलोम, अनेकार्थी शब्द
- Hindi: संज्ञा, सर्वनाम, विशेषण, क्रिया, कारक; वाक्य के अंग और भेद
- Hindi: मुहावरे एवं लोकोक्तियाँ, विराम चिह्न, व्याकरणीय अशुद्धियाँ
- English: sentence types and clauses, tenses, voice, narration, modals, infinitives and gerunds, question tags, prepositions, countable and uncountable nouns
- English: prefixes and suffixes, one-word substitution, synonyms and antonyms, spellings and derivations
- English: a reading passage with objective questions, and organising skills in writing
How is the CG Pre B.Ed 2027 paper marked?
Each of the 100 questions carries 1 mark, and there is no negative marking. The paper is a single offline OMR test, and in 2026 it ran from 10:00 am to 12:15 pm.
