Kerala GNM Admission 2027 is the merit-based admission to the 3-year Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery at Kerala’s government nursing schools (DHS) and nursing colleges (DME) for 2027-28. LBS Centre runs the online process. There is no entrance test: rank lists use Class 12 marks, and applications are expected in July 2027.

Is there an entrance exam for Kerala GNM 2027?
No. Kerala fills its government GNM seats on merit, using the marks of the final year of the qualifying exam (Plus Two). You apply online once, get a place in a rank list, register your college options and receive a seat through online allotments.
The Directorate of Health Services (DHS) runs the GNM course in 15 government schools of nursing, and the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) runs it in 3 government nursing colleges, only for SC/ST candidates. The government has authorised the LBS Centre for Science and Technology to conduct the online application, rank lists and allotments for both. The same single application also covers the 2-year ANM course under DHS.

Kerala GNM 2027 dates are not announced yet. In 2026 the prospectus was approved on 23 June and applications ran from 3 to 23 July, so the 2027 application is expected in July 2027.

How to Apply for Kerala GNM Admission 2027
You apply online on the LBS Centre website through the ‘Admission to GNM & ANM Courses’ link. The 2027 application link will open when the 2027-28 notification is issued; the steps below follow the 2026-27 prospectus.
Apply Online for Kerala GNM 2027
Applications for Kerala GNM 2027 are expected in July 2027.
- Open the LBS Centre website and select the GNM and ANM admission link under ‘Various Allotments’.
- Click ‘New Registration’, fill in your personal details and choose your category (General or SC/ST). The fee for your choice of course is shown.
- Pay the application fee online (card or net banking) or by printing the challan and paying at a notified bank branch. Note the application number shown.
- Log in with your application number, create a password and note the Registration ID given to you.
- Fill in your academic marks and reservation claims, and upload your photo, signature and certificates (birth proof, nativity proof and qualifying exam mark list are mandatory).
- Preview the form, accept the declaration and make the final submission. Print the application and the acknowledgement slip. Do not post them to LBS Centre.

These are the 2026-27 application fees and they are not refundable. Submit only one application; a second application leads to rejection. If you lose your login details, the candidate portal has a ‘Forgot Password?’ link and an ‘Application Info Recovery’ page.
Who can apply for Kerala GNM 2027?
You can apply if you have passed Plus Two (Kerala Higher Secondary or an equivalent exam) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as a compulsory subject. These are the 2026-27 rules:
- Minimum 40% aggregate marks; SEBC candidates need 35%, SC/ST candidates need only a pass, and PwD candidates get 5% relaxation.
- Students from other streams (non-science) are considered only if seats remain after science-group candidates.
- Kerala VHSE is accepted as equal to Higher Secondary.
- Registered ANM nurses who have passed Plus Two can apply for the seats kept for them.
- Age: at least 17 years as on 31 December of the admission year (31 December 2026 for 2026-27). There is no upper age limit.
- You must have the qualifying marks by the last date of application.
Nativity decides which seats you can get. Candidates of Kerala origin (Keralites) are eligible for all seats and reservations. Non-Keralite Category I candidates, such as those who studied in Kerala from Class 8 to 12, compete only for State Merit seats. Non-Keralite Category II candidates are not considered for government seats. The DME college seats are for SC/ST candidates of Kerala origin only.
How is the Kerala GNM 2027 rank list prepared?
LBS Centre prepares separate rank lists from the marks of the final year of your qualifying exam. GNM uses two lists, and ANM has its own list.

Marks from CBSE, ISC, VHSE and other boards are normalised against the Kerala Higher Secondary marks in the same subject, using the top mark in each board that year. Kerala Higher Secondary students are ranked on their actual marks.
Ties in Rank List I are broken by higher marks in Biology, then Chemistry, then Physics, then the Plus One and Plus Two total, then English, and finally by age (the older candidate ranks higher). The provisional data and index marks are published for checking first, with a short window to correct defects.
How does Kerala GNM 2027 seat allotment work?
Seats are allotted online on your rank, your reservation claims and the course-college options you register. In 2026-27 the process ran as follows:
- Log in to the candidate portal with your application number, Registration ID and password, and register as many course-college options as you want, in order of preference.
- Check the trial allotment and add, delete or rearrange options before the deadline.
- If you get a seat in the first allotment, pay the token fee by the due date, or you lose the seat and later regular allotments.
- After the first allotment, options below your allotted one are removed. Keep higher options only if you will accept an upgrade.
- After the second allotment, download the allotment memo from your home page and join the college with your original documents by the date given.
- If seats stay vacant, LBS Centre holds further online or spot allotments. In 2026-27 a third allotment was published on 8 October 2026.
If you are allotted your first option and pay the fee, you are bound to accept that seat and are not considered for further allotments.
How many GNM seats are there in Kerala?
The 2026-27 prospectus lists 485 GNM seats in 15 DHS schools of nursing and 90 seats in 3 DME nursing colleges, a total of 575 government GNM seats.

The DME seats are 30 each at Government Nursing College Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode (SC only) and Government Nursing College Kottayam (ST only). Twenty percent of DME seats are for male candidates. Two extra seats each at Ernakulam and Kozhikode are for nominees from Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.
How are Kerala GNM seats reserved?
DHS seats follow Kerala’s mandatory reservation after nominee and special quota seats are set apart. Five percent of seats go to persons with locomotor disability of 40% to 50%.

Special quotas in 2026-27 included one sports seat and one ex-servicemen (Sainik Welfare) seat per district, two NCC seats, one paramilitary seat, one transgender seat, three seats for orphanage nominees and 1% of seats for in-service ANM nurses. You must claim every reservation in the online form with the certificate; claims cannot be added after the last date.
What is the Kerala GNM course fee and stipend?
The GNM course fee at government schools and colleges is Rs 5,300, as per the 2026-27 prospectus. Part of it is paid as a token fee at allotment.

SC/ST and OEC candidates are exempt from paying fees at admission. The course lasts 3 years, including a 6-month internship. A GNM student who leaves the course after admissions close must pay liquidated damages of Rs 50,000 plus the stipend received with 4% interest, and signs an undertaking on Rs 500 stamp paper at admission.
Which documents do you need for Kerala GNM 2027?
You upload scanned certificates with the online form and show the originals when you join the college. The upload list in 2026-27 was:
- SSLC page or equivalent showing date of birth (mandatory)
- Nativity proof (mandatory)
- Mark list of the qualifying exam (mandatory)
- Community certificate from the Tahsildar for SC/ST, or non-creamy layer certificate for SEBC/OEC claims
- Income certificate, EWS certificate or disability certificate, where claimed
At the college you also need the allotment memo, the fee receipt, the printed application, your transfer and conduct certificates, a physical fitness certificate from a government doctor and proof of Hepatitis B vaccination.
