NEIGRIHMS has not announced the 2027-28 schedule yet. In 2026 the prospectus came out on 4 June 2026 and the exam was held on 2 August 2026, so the 2027 prospectus is expected in June 2027 and the exam in July or August 2027.

How to Apply for NEIGRIHMS M.Sc Nursing 2027
You apply online only, on the Meghalaya e-District portal linked from the NEIGRIHMS website, once the 2027-28 prospectus is out. In 2026 the form was open from 5 June to 5 July 2026, and no request for a form by post was accepted.

Applications for NEIGRIHMS M.Sc Nursing 2027 are expected in June 2027.
- Open the NEIGRIHMS notifications page and click the online application link for M.Sc Nursing given with the prospectus.
- Register on the Meghalaya e-District portal with your email ID and set a password.
- Log in with the registered email ID and password.
- Go to Apply Services, click View all available services, search for M.Sc and choose Application for M.Sc.
- Read the instructions, fill in the form and upload your photo, proof of date of birth, B.Sc Nursing mark sheet, experience certificate and caste certificate (if any).
- Pay the application processing fee and keep a printout of the submitted form.

Who can apply for NEIGRIHMS M.Sc Nursing 2027?
You can apply if you hold a B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing degree with at least 55% aggregate marks from an institution recognised by the Indian Nursing Council. The 2026-27 prospectus also requires the following.
- Registration as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN and RM) or equivalent with any State Nursing Council.
- At least 1 year of experience after the B.Sc. Nursing degree, in a hospital, college or school of nursing, or community health setting. Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing graduates need 1 year of experience before or after the degree.
- Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing through distance education (IGNOU) is accepted only if the study centre is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council.
- Only candidates who studied Midwifery can take the Obstetric and Gynaecological Nursing or Community Health Nursing specialty.
- Medical fitness, and a No Objection Certificate from the employer for in-service candidates.
- NEIGRIHMS alumni seats are for students of the College of Nursing, NEIGRIHMS, whatever their home state.
There is no preference for candidates from the North-Eastern states. Candidates with 40% to 50% disability of the lower extremity, certified by an authorised medical board, may be considered.
What is the NEIGRIHMS M.Sc Nursing 2027 exam pattern?
The entrance exam is an offline objective test in English with 100 multiple-choice questions, each with one correct answer out of four options and worth 1 mark. The 2026-27 prospectus gives this subject split:

The prospectus does not state the exam duration or any negative marking. The questions come from the B.Sc Nursing subjects above, so revise your degree-level textbooks for each of them.
How many M.Sc Nursing seats does NEIGRIHMS have?
NEIGRIHMS has 10 M.Sc Nursing seats a year, split by category and by specialty. The prospectus says seats may increase with approval.

Unfilled alumni or staff seats go to All India Open candidates. Two extra supernumerary seats are kept for foreign nationals, who are exempt from the entrance exam and apply through diplomatic channels.
How to download the NEIGRIHMS M.Sc Nursing 2027 admit card?
Eligible candidates download the admit card online from a link on the NEIGRIHMS website. In 2026 it was available from 13 July 2026, about three weeks before the exam, and the exam venue in Shillong is given on the admit card.
- Open the NEIGRIHMS exams and admission notifications page.
- Click the link for downloading the M.Sc (Nursing) admit card.
- Enter the login details asked for and download the admit card.
- Print it and check your name, roll number and exam venue.
On exam day, report one hour before the exam starts. No one is allowed in after 10:00 AM. Carry the admit card and a photocopy of your application form or an identity proof. A black ballpoint pen is given in the hall; phones, calculators, watches with calculators and any papers are not allowed. The exam is not held again for anyone who misses it.
How is the NEIGRIHMS M.Sc Nursing result declared?
The result is declared within 3 days of the exam as a list of qualifying candidates with their marks out of 100. It is put up on the NEIGRIHMS notice boards and on the website, and no individual letters are sent. In 2026 the qualifying list came out on 7 August 2026.
Separate merit lists are made for General (All India Open), NEIGRIHMS B.Sc Nursing alumni and NEIGRIHMS staff candidates. There is no rechecking of answer sheets. If marks are tied, the candidate with higher aggregate marks in B.Sc Nursing ranks higher, then the older candidate, then the one with fewer attempts in the degree.
What is the expected NEIGRIHMS M.Sc Nursing 2027 cut off?
NEIGRIHMS does not publish a cut-off, but its qualifying list shows the marks range. These 2026 figures (2026, official qualifying list of 7 August 2026) are the best guide for 2027:

With 55 qualifiers for 10 seats, a score well above 45 is needed for a realistic chance of a seat, especially in the All India Open category.
How does NEIGRIHMS M.Sc Nursing counselling work?
NEIGRIHMS calls up to five times the number of seats in each category for in-person counselling at the College of Nursing, Shillong, strictly in order of entrance marks. In 2026 counselling was held on 12 August 2026 and the session began on 17 August 2026.
- Check the list of candidates called for counselling on the NEIGRIHMS website.
- Report on the notified date and time with all original documents, including mark sheets of all years.
- Choose your specialty by merit rank, from the seats still open.
- Take the medical examination on the same day; unfit candidates are not admitted.
- Pay the fees on the counselling day, or the seat goes to the next candidate on the waiting list.
Candidates who miss counselling lose their claim and their waiting-list place. In-service candidates must bring a relieving certificate when joining, and every selected student needs a migration certificate.
What are the NEIGRIHMS M.Sc Nursing course fees?
