Admission to the B.Tech. degree programmes of NIT Calicut will be based on the performance in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main) – Paper 1 and Paper 2 respectively. Reservation of seats to various categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD, will be followed as per Govt. of India norms. There is no need to apply separately to each NIT. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB), constituted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, will conduct and supervise the process of admission to the various NITs through the centralized online counseling process. NIT Calicut is starting a new B.Tech. Programme in Materials Science and Engineering from the academic year 2019-2020, with an annual intake of 30 seats, in addition to the existing B.Tech. and B.Arch. programmes A limited number of seats are available for Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian origin (PIOs) / Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) / Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) under the ‘Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA)’ Scheme of MHRD, Government of India. Those seeking admission under the DASA scheme have to apply online through the DASA.

There will be central counseling conducted by IITs and NITs for admission in all these colleges. Below this list are the names of other private / centrally funded colleges where admission will also be on the basis of JEE Main (AIEEE) ranks, but counseling will be done separately. All the students who have appeared in JEE Main exam and qualified with an AIR must apply for the counseling in JOSAA and other colleges. Result
Candidates who want to take admission in NIT Calicut will get only through on the basis of the JEE Mains score. The results will contain candidates’ total and subject wise scores as obtained in the exam and ranks secured. The authorities of the examination will prepare the merit list. After the results, the selected candidates will have to appear for the counseling process in person in the university as per the schedule. After the result, the counseling process will start for all the qualified candidates.
