How is the PBPED 2026 merit list made?

Only candidates who pass the fitness run are placed on the merit list, which ranks them on a 100-mark score. That score is 60% of total graduation marks (up to 60), 5 marks for a C.P.Ed., D.P.Ed. or one-year sports coaching diploma, and up to 35 for the best sports certificate.

  • Applications are sorted by state merit category before ranking.
  • Up to three times as many candidates as there are seats are taken to the next stage.
  • Rajasthan government reservation rules apply. Seats left after reserved candidates are filled from the general merit.
  • 30 seats go to in-service physical education teachers by seniority.
  • Players in internationally recognised (AIU) sports can be admitted outside the merit if they pass the fitness test and meet minimum eligibility.

For example, a candidate with 65% in graduation and a 2nd place at inter-college level gets 39 + 8 = 47 marks, plus 5 more with a sports diploma.

What happens after the PBPED 2026 result?

After the merit list comes counselling, where you list colleges in order of preference and get a seat by merit. The guidelines ask you to fill as many college choices as you can.

  1. Fill your college choices online in your order of preference.
  2. Check the allotment list and print your allotment letter.
  3. Report to the allotted college with original documents for verification.
  4. Pay the course fee of Rs 22,430 per year. The Rs 5,000 registration fee is adjusted in it.

The allotted college verifies your original documents and can cancel admission if anything does not match.
