Punjab ANM GNM Admission 2027 is the merit-based admission to the 3-year GNM and 2-year ANM nursing diplomas in Punjab’s government and private nursing institutes for Session 2027-28. The Punjab Nurses Registration Council (PNRC), Mohali runs it through centralised online counselling, with no entrance test. Applications are expected around July to August 2027.

Is there an entrance exam for Punjab ANM GNM 2027?
No. PNRC fills ANM and GNM seats in all government and private nursing institutes of Punjab purely on merit, through centralised online counselling. Your Class 12 marks decide your merit rank, as per Punjab Government notification of 3 October 2023.
All ANM and GNM seats in government and private institutes are filled only through this PNRC counselling. It covers ANM and GNM only, not degree nursing courses.
Punjab ANM GNM 2027 Important Dates
PNRC has not announced the Session 2027-28 schedule yet. In 2026, Round 1 applications ran from 31 July to 25 August 2026, so the 2027 round is expected around July to August 2027.

How to Apply for Punjab ANM GNM Admission 2027
You apply online only, on the PNRC admission counselling portal, and pay the counselling fee while applying. In 2026-27, Round 2 had its own application and fee window, from 9 to 14 September 2026.
Apply Online for Punjab ANM GNM 2027
Applications for Punjab ANM GNM 2027 are expected in July 2027.
- Open admission.pnrconline.in and click Apply for Counselling (Online Counselling) once the 2027-28 notice is out.
- Register to get your Reference Number and password. You use these with a captcha on the Applicant Login page.
- Fill in your personal, Class 10 and Class 12 marks and reservation details, and upload the required documents.
- Pay the counselling fee online and submit the form before the last date. Late forms are not accepted.
- Fill your choice of institutes in order of preference during choice filling. You must fill at least one choice.
- Check the provisional allotment list on the portal and report to the allotted institute with original documents and photocopies by the last date.

Who can apply for Punjab GNM and ANM 2027?
You can apply if you have passed 10+2 with English and are at least 17 years old on 31 December of the admission year. GNM also has a minimum marks rule; ANM does not.

Preference goes to residents of Punjab. You count as a resident if you were born in Punjab, studied Class 11 and 12 in Punjab, or are a permanent resident under the prospectus rules, such as 5 years of study in Punjab or a parent in Punjab Government service. Indian candidates must also give their Aadhaar number.
How is the Punjab ANM GNM merit list prepared?
PNRC makes separate merit lists for GNM and ANM from your Class 12 marks, after the application deadline of each round.

Equivalent qualifications from other boards are counted subject to an equivalency certificate from the Punjab School Education Board.
What is the expected Punjab ANM GNM 2027 cut off?
PNRC does not publish cut-off marks, but its allotment lists show the last merit rank that got a seat. The 2026 figures (2026, official PNRC allotment lists) are the best guide for 2027:

Each round has its own merit list of the candidates who applied in it, so Round 2 ranks are not comparable with Round 1. These are overall last ranks across all institutes and categories, not institute-wise closing ranks.
How does Punjab ANM GNM counselling work?
Counselling is fully online, round by round, and PNRC allots seats by your merit rank and the order of your choices.
- Round 1: PNRC publishes the provisional merit and allotment lists on the portal after choice filling closes.
- Allotted candidates report to their institute within the given dates. The institute checks documents and eligibility and confirms the seat on the portal.
- If you do not report by the last date, you lose the seat and it goes to the next round.
- Round 2 and any mop-up round fill the vacant seats. Unfilled reserved seats move to the general category in the second counselling.
- If you fill new choices in Round 2 and get a seat, your Round 1 seat is cancelled automatically. If you shift institutes, the old institute refunds your tuition fee within 7 days.
In 2026-27, PNRC ran two rounds: Round 1 allotment on 31 August 2026 and Round 2 allotment on 18 September 2026.
How are Punjab ANM and GNM seats reserved?
Seats are reserved on a 100-point roster under the Punjab Government notification of 3 October 2023, with different quotas for government and private institutes.

SC and BC certificates must be issued in Punjab; certificates from other states are not counted. In ANM only, 10% horizontal reservation goes to trained Dais and ASHA workers, Anganwari workers and students who did their last four years of schooling in rural Punjab, in that order, and they pay 50% of the admission fee.
Which documents do you need for Punjab ANM GNM 2027?
You upload scanned originals with the online form, then show the originals and photocopies at the allotted institute.
- Passport-size photograph and signature (JPG/PNG, up to 100 KB each)
- Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets
- Declaration by parents or guardian
- Aadhaar card (front and back)
- Residence certificate (proof of residence of Punjab)
- Reserved category certificate, if applicable
- Medical fitness certificate from a registered doctor
Mark sheets and other documents can be JPG, PNG or PDF, up to 1 MB each. Institutes must reject a seat if the Aadhaar, date of birth, Class 12 stream and marks, domicile or category do not match the form.
What are the ANM and GNM courses in Punjab?
GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) is a 3-year diploma and ANM (Auxiliary Nurse and Midwifery) is a 2-year diploma of 18 months plus 6 months of internship. Both follow the Indian Nursing Council syllabus, and PNRC conducts their examinations and registers nurses and midwives in Punjab.
For 2026-27, the PNRC Round 1 seat list showed 11,430 GNM seats and 5,732 ANM seats in 232 recognised institutes. The institute-wise seat list for 2027-28 will be published on the portal at choice filling.
