Is there an entrance exam for Rajasthan GNM 2027?
No. Rajasthan fills GNM seats on merit, using your Senior Secondary (Class 12) marks. You apply online, fill an option form for the nursing schools you want, and get a seat through online counselling rounds.
The Directorate of Medical, Health and Family Welfare Services (DMHS), Jaipur, runs the process for both government and private nursing schools in the state. Government school seats go by state-level merit and private school seats by district-level merit, category-wise.

Rajasthan GNM 2027 (session 2027-28) dates are not announced yet. In 2026 the advertisement came on 25 July and applications ran from 29 July to 11 August, so the 2027 application is expected in July or August 2027.

How to Apply for Rajasthan GNM Admission 2027
You apply online on the session portal that DMHS opens with each advertisement; for 2026-27 it was rajgnm2026.in. The 2027-28 link will open with the next advertisement. The steps below follow the 2026-27 process.
Apply Online for Rajasthan GNM 2027
Applications for Rajasthan GNM 2027 are expected in July 2027.
- Read the short and detailed advertisement on the DMHS training courses page.
- Open the GNM online portal for the session and start a new application.
- Fill in your personal, category and Senior Secondary details exactly as in your certificates.
- Fill the option form, choosing the government and private nursing schools you want, in order of preference.
- Pay the application fee through e-Mitra/CSC or the online payment gateway.
- Submit the form and keep a printout. Check the portal for counselling lists and download your provisional allotment letter if you get a seat.

A counselling fee of Rs 500 is also charged and is not refundable. Seats are filled in rounds, so keep checking the portal until you join a training centre.
Who can apply for Rajasthan GNM 2027?
You can apply if you have passed Senior Secondary (Class 12) from BSER Ajmer or a recognised board. These were the 2026-27 rules:
- Minimum marks: 40% for General and OBC candidates, 35% for SC and ST candidates.
- Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) candidates get priority. Students of other streams are considered for the seats that remain.
- Age: 17 to 28 years for male and 17 to 34 years for female candidates, counted as on 31 December 2026 for the 2026-27 session.
- SC, ST and OBC candidates get 5 years of age relaxation.
- The upper age limit for departmental-quota candidates is 35 years.
How are Rajasthan GNM seats allotted?
Seats are allotted in online counselling rounds on your merit, category and the options you filled. Government schools use a state-level merit list and private schools a district-level merit list. In 2026-27 the rounds ran as follows:

After the 4th government and 3rd private round, allotted students had to join their training centre by 30 September 2026. The department then issued a joining extension order on 7 October 2026.
How are Rajasthan GNM seats reserved?
Seats are filled category-wise under Rajasthan’s reservation rules, with 5% for MBC and 10% for EWS candidates. TSP-area local reservation follows the detailed advertisement.
Admissions follow a female to male ratio of 80:20. The number of seats in each nursing school is published on the department website before counselling.
What is the Rajasthan GNM course fee?
The yearly training fee depends on whether you join a government or a private nursing school. These are the 2026-27 fees:

What is the GNM course and how is it different from ANM?
GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) is a 3-year course, including a 6-month internship. After it you are registered as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (R.N. and R.M.).
ANM (Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife) is a shorter 2-year course with a separate admission. In 2026-27 the ANM advertisement came separately on 17 August 2026.
