You apply offline. RIMS posts a circular with a downloadable form and prospectus, and the filled form must reach the Principal’s office with a demand draft by the last date, which was 30 June in both 2025 and 2026. The 2027 form will be posted with the next circular.

Who can apply for RIMS Imphal M.Sc Nursing 2027?
Registered nurses from the seven North-East beneficiary states who hold a B.Sc Nursing degree with at least 55% and one year of work experience can apply. The full conditions in the 2026-27 prospectus are:
- Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN and RM) with any State Nursing Council.
- B.Sc Nursing, B.Sc (Hons) Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing from an INC-recognised institution, with at least 55% aggregate marks.
- At least one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc Nursing.
- Medically fit.
- From one of the beneficiary states: Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim or Tripura.

RIMS does not publish a separate syllabus. Revise the core B.Sc Nursing subjects, such as Medical Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Obstetric and Gynaecological Nursing, Mental Health Nursing and Nursing Foundations.
How are RIMS Imphal M.Sc Nursing results and counselling done?
RIMS publishes the result as a PDF rank list on its website, with no login needed, and then calls candidates for counselling in order of merit. In 2026 the result came out on 20 July, a day after the exam, and counselling began on 22 July 2026 at 10:00 AM.
- The rank list shows serial number, roll number, candidate name, state, gender, category and marks obtained.
- Eligible candidates are told by mobile phone and attend counselling at the College of Nursing, RIMS.
- Selection is made by a selection committee on entrance merit, followed by admission and the start of the session in August.
- A candidate who leaves the course pays a penalty of Rs 3 lakh within the first year and Rs 7 lakh after that.
