This page explains how admission to Telangana’s social welfare and tribal welfare residential degree colleges works now that TGUGCET is not held: dates, eligibility, fee, seats and documents.

Is TGUGCET 2027 being held?
No TGUGCET 2027 has been announced, and the last two admission rounds were made without it. TGSWREIS filled its women’s degree college seats for 2025-26 on Intermediate merit, and TGTWREIS took 2026-27 applications directly at its colleges, assigning seats by the Intermediate course studied.
So you do not need to prepare for an entrance test. Your Intermediate marks, category and family income decide your seat. Do not confuse TGUGCET with TGCET, the Gurukulam entrance test for Class 5 admission in the societies’ schools.

No 2027-28 schedule is out yet. In 2025 the TGSWREIS press note set 23 June 2025 as the last date to apply, so 2027 applications are expected around June 2027.

How to Apply for Gurukulam Degree College Admission 2027
You apply directly to the college, not through an entrance test. The two societies use slightly different steps, based on their latest prospectus and brochure.
Apply Online for TGUGCET 2027
Applications for TGUGCET 2027 are expected in June 2027.
- Read the latest prospectus (TGSWREIS) or admission brochure (TGTWREIS) and check that you meet the eligibility rules.
- Choose the college: women’s colleges take only women and men’s colleges only men.
- Get the application form at the college, or download the TGTWRDC form from the official website.
- Fill in your Intermediate hall ticket number, marks, group, category and income details, and attach copies of the documents asked for.
- Submit the form at the college and pay the fee where one applies (TGTWRDCs).
- If selected, report with your original certificates for document verification and confirm your admission.

The TGTWREIS brochure asks you to confirm admission within 24 hours of allotment and then attend the orientation. Ineligible applications are rejected without any message, so check the rules before you submit.
Who can apply for Gurukulam degree colleges in 2027?
You can apply if you have passed or are appearing for Intermediate (10+2) and your family income is within the limit. The exact year of passing will be set in the 2027-28 notice.

How are seats allotted without TGUGCET?
Seats now go by your Intermediate record. At TGSWR women’s colleges the 2025-26 prospectus lists two criteria: merit in Intermediate and the rule of reservation.
At TGTW colleges the 2026-27 brochure assigns your seat according to the course you studied in Intermediate, after document verification at the college. Course combinations may change with the number of applications received.

In TGTW colleges, seats left unfilled in the other categories go to ST candidates.
Which colleges and courses are offered?
TGSWREIS runs 28 TGSWR Degree Colleges for Women, affiliated to Osmania, Kakatiya, Palamuru, Mahatma Gandhi, Telangana and Satavahana universities. Most have a sanctioned strength of 280 a year, mostly in sections of 40, across B.Sc (such as MPC, BZC, MZC and computer combinations), B.Com (General and Computers) and BA (HEP).
Some are special colleges: Life Sciences at Mahendrahills, Physical Sciences at Budvel, Social Sciences at Ibrahimpatnam, and Commerce and Management at Sangareddy.
TGTWREIS runs 22 residential degree colleges (7 for men, 15 for women) with NAAC accreditation and UGC 2(f) status. The 2026-27 brochure lists BA, BBA, B.Com (General, Computer Applications), B.Sc (Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Data Science) and more.
What documents do you need for admission?
- SSC (Class 10) marks memo
- Intermediate (Class 12) marks memo
- Latest income certificate from the MRO/Tahsildar (TGTWREIS asked for one issued after 1 January 2026)
- Community (caste) certificate
- Nativity and date of birth certificates (mandatory at TGSWR women’s colleges)
- Passport-size photographs
Carry the originals when you join. TGSWREIS can cancel an admission at any stage if the details you gave turn out to be wrong.
