URATPG 2027: Exam Date, Application, Eligibility

URATPG 2027 (University of Rajasthan Admission Test for Post Graduate Courses) is the entrance test of the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, for M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., MCA, LL.M. and PG diploma seats in its own PG departments. The 2027 dates are not out yet. Going by 2026, forms are expected in July 2027 and the test in August 2027.

Latest (3 October 2026): URATPG 2027 is not announced yet. For 2026 admissions, PG departments issued the first merit list on 23 September 2026, and the Law department posted counselling notices for its PG diplomas on 3 October 2026.

URATPG 2027 has not been announced, so the dates below are expected months. In 2026 the form opened on 13 July, the test was held from 20 to 24 August, and the first merit list came on 23 September.

How to Apply for URATPG 2027

You apply for URATPG online at uniofraj.org/pg, the admission portal of the University of Rajasthan. Admission runs in two phases. In Phase I you register for the entrance test and can pick up to three test subjects in one form. In Phase II, after the test, you apply for up to five programmes and hand a hard copy of that form to each department.

Go to uniofraj.org/pg and open New Registration under PG Admission.
Register with your mobile number and email ID, then log in.
Fill in your personal and graduation details and choose up to three test subjects.
Pay the fee online and print the submitted form.
After the test, fill the Phase II form for the programmes you want.
Submit the Phase II hard copy with self-attested mark sheets, caste and weightage certificates (if any) to each department by the last date.

These are the 2026 fees. In 2026 the Phase I last date was extended from 3 August to 8 August, and the Phase II form ran from 5 to 16 September.

Who can apply for URATPG 2027?

You need a bachelor’s degree that fits the programme, with the minimum marks set by that department. These were the 2026 rules:

M.A. Hindi, English, Economics, History, Political Science, Public Administration and Sociology: B.A. with 48% aggregate or 55% in the PG subject, or any bachelor’s degree with 55%.
M.Com. ABST, Business Administration and EAFM: B.Com. with 50% aggregate or 55% in the subject, or any bachelor’s degree with 55%.
M.Sc. Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, Geology and Mathematics: a degree with that subject and 55% aggregate.
LL.M.: LL.B. or a PG law diploma with 55% (50% for SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS and PwD).
MCA (SFS): graduation with Mathematics at Class 12 or degree level, or BCA, B.Sc. (IT or CS) or B.E., with 50% (45% for reserved categories).
MBA at R.A. Podar Institute of Management: any bachelor’s degree with 50% (45% for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, MBC and EWS).

Some programmes admit on graduation merit with no URATPG test. In 2026 these included M.A. Sanskrit, M.A. Urdu, M.A. Music, Master of Performing Arts (Music, Kathak and Tabla) and Master of Visual Arts (Applied Arts, Painting and Sculpture). Music programmes also hold an aptitude test.

What is the URATPG 2027 exam pattern?

URATPG is a two-hour pen-and-paper test of 100 objective questions, one mark each, on the test subject you choose. This was the 2026 pattern and it is expected to continue.

Which programmes can you join through URATPG?

Each test subject opens a group of programmes in the university’s PG departments and centres, including self-financing (SFS) seats. Some examples from 2026:

Chemistry test: M.Sc. Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biotechnology (SFS), Microbiology (SFS) and M.Sc. IT (SFS).
Mathematics test: M.A./M.Sc. Mathematics, MCA (SFS) and M.Sc. IT (SFS).
Hindi test: M.A. Hindi, M.A. Journalism & Mass Communication (SFS) and M.A. Rajasthani Language, Literature and Culture (SFS).
History test: M.A. History, M.A. Museology & Conservation and PG diplomas in Jain Studies and Indian Culture.
Law test: LL.M., LL.M. (Human Rights and Value Education) (SFS) and PG diplomas in Criminal, Labour and Taxation Law.

Seats differ by department. In 2026, for example, M.A. Hindi had 120 regular and 15 SFS seats, and M.Sc. Physics had 40 regular and 20 SFS seats.

How many subjects can I take in URATPG?

In 2026 you could take up to three test subjects in one Phase I form, paying a higher fee for each extra subject. In Phase II you could apply for up to five programmes.

Does a good URATPG score guarantee admission?

No. Each department makes its own merit list from 70% of your test marks and 30% of your graduation marks. You must also meet its eligibility and submit the Phase II hard copy on time.

What does SFS mean in URATPG programmes?

SFS stands for self-financing scheme. These seats are in the same departments as regular seats but are run on a self-financing basis, so check the fee of an SFS course before you choose it.
