AIL LET 2027 is the online Law Entrance Test that the Army Institute of Law, Mohali holds for its 5-year BA LLB and B.Com LLB seats in the 2027-28 session. It is open to wards of Army, Navy and Air Force personnel and to All India General candidates from outside Punjab. The application is expected in March or April 2027.

AIL LET 2027 Important Dates
AIL has not announced the AIL LET 2027 dates yet. In 2026 the form opened on 22 April and the test was held on 5 July, so the 2027 test is expected between May and July 2027.

How to Apply for AIL LET 2027
You apply for AIL LET 2027 online only, on the TCS iON portal linked from ail.ac.in, once AIL releases the 2027-28 prospectus. There is no offline form and no management quota. The 2026 portal is shown below; the 2027 link will open with the new registration.
Apply Online for AIL LET 2027
Applications for AIL LET 2027 are expected in March 2027.
- Open the AIL LET application portal and click Register.
- Enter your name and date of birth exactly as in your Class 10 certificate, plus your own mobile number and email ID. These cannot be changed later.
- Note the User ID and password sent to your email and mobile, then log in.
- Choose your category (Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force or All India General), and fill in your personal and academic details.
- Upload your photo and signature, Class 10 and Class 12 certificates, the service category certificate, a gap year affidavit if needed, and the weightage certificate if you claim it.
- Pay the fee online and keep a copy of the submitted form.

The fee is the same for all LET categories and is not refunded if you miss the merit list. In 2026 an edit window let candidates change all fields except name, date of birth, category, mobile number and email ID. Forgot your password? Use the Forgot Password option on the portal login page and enter your User ID.
Who can apply for AIL LET 2027?
You can apply if you have passed or are appearing in Class 12 with at least 45% marks and you belong to one of the LET categories.
- Wards of Indian Army, Indian Navy or Indian Air Force personnel: serving with at least 10 years of continuous service, or ex-servicemen with a pension or with 10 years of service. Some adopted and step children, and wards of APS, MNS and TA personnel, also qualify.
- All India General Category: Indian citizens with a domicile certificate of any state other than Punjab.
- Punjab residents cannot take the LET seats. Their 36 Punjab Category seats are filled on Class 12 merit by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.
- Class 12 candidates appearing in 2027 can apply provisionally, but lose the seat if they do not pass with 45%.
- Candidates with a backlog in the qualifying exam are not eligible.
How many seats are filled through AIL LET 2027?
AIL LET fills 144 of the 180 first-year seats. The table shows the 2026-27 seat split, which is the latest available.

Unfilled Navy and Air Force seats go to the Army category. Wards of gallantry award winners, war widows and battle casualties get a weightage of 1% to 5% on their merit.
What is the AIL LET 2027 exam pattern?
AIL LET is a 2-hour online test of 200 objective questions at the Class 12 level, in English only. There is no negative marking, and you need 25% (50 marks) to pass. See the AIL LET 2027 syllabus for what each section covers.

AIL makes a practice mock test available on the portal about a week before the exam, only to show the layout of the online test. It does not publish sample papers.
How does AIL LET 2027 counselling work?
AIL calls candidates for online counselling by category merit number after the result. In 2026 counselling ran from 25 to 30 July over Google Meet, with the candidate and one parent. Selected candidates must pay the full fee within 48 hours, and the 2026 batch reported on 10 August 2026.
