What is the AMU BA LLB 2027 syllabus?
The AMU BA LLB syllabus has three sections, all asked in one 100-mark objective paper. These are the sections in AMU’s official syllabus and the 2026-27 Guide to Admissions:
| Section | Marks | Questions |
|---|---|---|
| Proficiency in English | 40 | 40 |
| Current Affairs / General Knowledge (with emphasis on legal issues) | 40 | 40 |
| Reasoning and Aptitude | 20 | 20 |
| Total | 100 | 100 |
AMU lists only these section heads, not a chapter-wise topic list. Older AMU syllabus copies describe the standard as that expected of a student who has passed Senior Secondary (Class 12).
What is the AMU BA LLB 2027 marking scheme?
Each question carries 1 mark, and a wrong answer loses 0.25 mark. The other rules for the 2026-27 test were:
- Each question has four options, and marking more than one option counts as a wrong answer.
- The paper is in English.
- You fill the OMR sheet entries in the first 15 minutes; the 2-hour test time starts when the question booklet is handed out.
- You need at least 20% marks in the test to be eligible for admission.
- There is no re-evaluation or re-totalling of the OMR sheet.

How to prepare for the AMU BA LLB 2027 syllabus?
- English (40 marks): read editorials daily and practise reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary questions under time.
- Current Affairs and GK (40 marks): follow national news for the year before the test, with extra attention to new laws, court judgments and constitutional topics, since AMU stresses legal issues.
- Reasoning and Aptitude (20 marks): practise verbal and logical reasoning sets, which take less revision time than the other two sections.
- Practise on OMR sheets with a 2-hour timer, and skip guesses you are unsure of, since each wrong answer costs 0.25 mark.
- English and GK together carry 80 of the 100 marks, so give them most of your time.
