What topics are in AP PGLCET Part A?
Part A has 40 questions on Jurisprudence and Constitutional Law, and it also decides ties in total marks.
- Jurisprudence (20 questions): schools of jurisprudence; sources of law (custom, precedent and legislation); rights and duties; ownership and possession; persons; obligation; property; liability; legal sanctions.
- Constitutional Law (20 questions): nature of the Constitution; fundamental rights; directive principles of state policy; executive, judiciary and legislature; Centre-State relations; emergency provisions; amendments to the Constitution.
What topics are in AP PGLCET Part B?
Part B has 80 questions, 16 from each of five subjects.
- Public International Law: international law and municipal law; state territory; air, sea and outer space laws; nationality and statelessness; extradition, asylum and state jurisdiction; the United Nations.
- Mercantile Law: general principles of contract (Sections 1 to 75 of the Indian Contract Act, 1872).
- Labour Laws: the Trade Unions Act, 1926 and the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.
- Crimes and Torts: Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (Indian Penal Code) general principles and general exceptions; general principles of tort, defences, joint liability and state liability for torts; the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
- IPR and Other Laws: the Copyright Act, 1957 and Patents Act, 1970; the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986; human rights and the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993; salient features of the Information Technology Act, 2000; the Right to Information Act, 2005; research methodology (definition and kinds of research).
What is the AP PGLCET 2027 exam pattern and marking?
AP PGLCET is held only as a computer-based test, in English.

How should I prepare for AP PGLCET 2027?
Start with Part A, because its 40 marks also break ties, then cover the five Part B subjects evenly since each carries 16 marks.
- Read the bare text of the named sections and Acts, such as Sections 1 to 75 of the Contract Act and the general exceptions in the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
- Revise recent amendments; the booklet says subjects are tested with their amendments made from time to time.
- Make short notes on leading constitutional cases on fundamental rights, emergency provisions and amendments.
- Do not skip the smaller topics in IPR and Other Laws, such as RTI, human rights and research methodology.
- Solve past papers in timed 90-minute sittings. Since there is no negative marking, answer every question.
