Is there an entrance exam for CG ITI admission 2027?

No. DET Chhattisgarh fills Government ITI seats on merit. NIC prepares a merit list from the marks of your qualifying exam (Class 10 for almost every trade), and seats are then allotted in rounds according to your merit, category and the order of the ITI and trade choices you fill.

NIC publishes separate merit lists for 10th-passed and 12th-passed applicants. If two candidates have equal marks, the older candidate ranks higher; after that, the tie is broken by the alphabetical order of the candidate’s name, then the father’s name, then the mother’s name.

ITI courses are skill-training courses in trades such as Electrician, Fitter or COPA. To compare trades before you register, see our guide to the best ITI trades.

How does CG ITI counselling and seat allotment work?

DET fills seats in rounds. After each registration window NIC publishes a merit list, then a selection list for each round based on merit, reservation and your choice order. In 2026 there were eight rounds between June and September.

  1. Rounds 1 to 3 use the first registration. In 2026 their selection lists came between 16 June and 12 July, and the last admissions closed on 15 July 2026.
  2. If you are selected, report at the allotted ITI within the admission dates with your original documents, the allotment letter and the training fee. Documents are verified at that ITI; if you miss the dates, the seat is cancelled for that round.
  3. If you got your first choice, your counselling ends when you take admission; if you do not take it, you are out of later rounds unless you register again.
  4. If you got a lower choice, choose Upgrade Yes to try for a higher choice in the next round (your current seat is cancelled automatically if a higher one is allotted), or No to keep the seat as final.
  5. Each registration gives you at most two chances. If you are allotted seats in two selection lists and take neither, you must register again to stay in the process.
  6. After round 3, DET invites fresh applications for rounds 4 to 6 and publishes a combined merit list. Earlier applicants need not apply again but may change choices by paying the fee again. More rounds or a spot round can follow if seats stay vacant.

In a spot round you must register again, even if you registered before, and you can apply to only one ITI. Admission is made at the ITI on merit, the fee must be paid at once, and the admission is final.

  • Documents at admission: Class 10 marksheet or certificate (and Class 12 if used), transfer certificate and Chhattisgarh domicile (mool niwasi) certificate.
  • Permanent caste certificate for reserved categories (also needed if you applied as reserved but were selected in the General category), income certificate in original, and disability or other special-category certificates if they apply.
  • A printout of the allotment letter, two sets of self-attested photocopies of all documents and two photographs.

How to check the CG ITI merit list and selection list?

Chhattisgarh publishes two kinds of lists: an NIC merit list after each registration window, posted as separate PDFs for 10th-passed and 12th-passed applicants, and a selection (allotment) list for each round.

  1. Open cgiti.admissions.nic.in and look under News and Events for the merit list PDFs of the round, for example “ITI 10th Passed Merit List Round 7”.
  2. Find your name and merit position in the list for your qualification.
  3. On the selection-list dates, sign in with your application number, password and security pin, and open the seat allotment result to see the ITI and trade allotted to you.
  4. Download the allotment letter and print it for admission. Each ITI also puts its trade-wise selection list on its notice board.

Who can apply for CG ITI admission 2027?

You need to be a domicile (mool niwasi) of Chhattisgarh and to have passed Class 10 to get a seat in a Government ITI. The 2026 bulletin sets Class 10 as the minimum for every trade except 5G Network Technician, which needs Class 12.

  • Age: at least 14 years on 1 August of the session year (1 August 2026 in the 2026 rules), or 18 years for Driver cum Mechanic. There is no upper age limit.
  • Merit uses the marks of the qualifying exam for the trade. If your board gives CGPA, convert it to a percentage with your board’s factor before filling the form; a wrong percentage can cancel your admission.
  • You should not be studying or working full time elsewhere. If you are employed, you need study leave and a no-objection certificate from your employer.
  • Candidates with disabilities should check Annexure-II of the bulletin for the trades that suit them before filling choices.

Which trades and ITIs are available in Chhattisgarh?

The 2026 bulletin lists 203 Government ITIs (9 only for women and 9 special tribal ITIs) and 114 private ITIs, with admission in 61 trades. The 2026 seat matrix for Government ITIs has 28,960 seats: 17,044 in NCVT units and 11,916 in SCVT units. These are some of the common trades.
