Is there a CSKHPKV entrance test in 2026-27?
No. CSKHPKV Palampur does not hold its own entrance test. The 2026-27 information brochure says every candidate, except NRI, OCI, foreign national, ICCR, in-service and PM-USP nominees, must take the national test set for the programme, and admission is purely on the merit score of that test.

How to Apply for CSKHPKV Admission 2026-27
You must apply twice: first to NTA for NEET (UG), CUET (UG) or the ICAR test, and then on the CSKHPKV online portal with the university’s fee. For 2026-27, the university form closed on 10 August 2026 at 11:59 PM, so the steps below apply again for 2027-28.
Apply Online for CSKHPKV 2026
The CSKHPKV 2026 application window (By 10 August 2026) has closed.
- Register for the right national test on the NTA website: CUET (UG) for B.Sc. Agriculture or B.Tech. Food Technology, NEET (UG) for B.V.Sc. In 2026 the university asked candidates to apply for CUET (UG) by 30 January 2026 and NEET (UG) by 8 March 2026.
- Wait for the CSKHPKV information brochure, usually published in July on hillagric.ac.in.
- Register on the university’s online application portal and fill in your personal, category and academic details.
- Enter your NEET (UG) or CUET (UG) roll number, score and rank, and upload your scorecard and the documents listed in the counselling proforma.
- Tick the self-financing seat option now if you want it; it cannot be added later, even in the mop-up round.
- Pay the application fee online and keep the submission receipt shown in your profile.

These are 2026-27 fees. Non-HP bonafide candidates can apply only for self-financing seats and pay Rs 2,000, Rs 3,500 or Rs 4,500 for one, two or three programmes. Opting for a self-financing seat costs Rs 1,000 extra per programme (Rs 2,500 for all three). PG and Ph.D. applicants fill in their ICAR roll number and score after the ICAR result, when the university opens a second step.
Who can apply for CSKHPKV UG admission?
You need Class 12 in the right subjects with English as a core subject and a score in the matching national test.
- B.V.Sc. & A.H.: Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English, with 50% aggregate in these subjects (47.5% for SC/ST/PwBD), and a NEET (UG) score.
- B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture: PCB, PCM, PCA or Intermediate (Agriculture) with English, 50% aggregate (40% for SC/ST/PwBD), and a CUET (UG) score.
- B.Tech. (Food Technology): PCB, PCM or PCA with English, 50% aggregate (40% for SC/ST/PwBD), and a CUET (UG) score.
- Age: at least 16 years on 31 August 2026 for B.Sc. Agriculture and B.Tech. Food Technology; at least 17 years by 31 December 2026 for B.V.Sc.
- Candidates appearing in Class 12 may apply, but must show the final marksheet at counselling.
University seats are for Bonafide Himachalis. Candidates from other states can apply only for self-financing seats, though they may get leftover HP bonafide seats in the final round.
How many seats are there in CSKHPKV UG programmes?
The 2026-27 brochure fixes these seats; the ICAR and VCI shares are filled through national counselling, not by the university.

The VCI quota is 15% of B.V.Sc. seats and the ICAR quota is 20% of B.Sc. Agriculture seats. One ICAR EWS seat is also added in B.Sc. Agriculture.
How does CSKHPKV counselling work?
Counselling is held in person at the college in Palampur, in rounds, from merit lists the university posts on its website.
- The university publishes category-wise provisional select and waiting lists. You have 48 hours to email an objection to the Registrar if your name or details are wrong.
- Candidates up to about 3 to 5 times the seats are called to Counselling-cum-Registration & Admission-I. Report at the venue by 11:00 AM with original documents and the filled counselling proforma.
- If you get a seat, pay the fee the same day and complete registration by 4:00 PM, or the seat is forfeited.
- Vacant seats go to Admission-II, which calls candidates from the waiting list.
- Seats still vacant are filled in the final round of counselling or mop-up round, which is the cut-off date for admission. Walk-in admission may follow if seats are left.
Ties in the test score are broken by test rank, then by Class 12 marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Maths/Agriculture, then by age (older first).
What is the CSKHPKV fee after admission?
You pay the first fee on the day of admission, as listed in the 2026-27 brochure (hostel charges are extra).

Students with benchmark disability pay no fee except boarding and lodging on regular seats. Education loans under the PM-Vidyalaxmi scheme are open to admitted students.
Which CSKHPKV courses need no entrance test score?
Four UG programmes are filled on Class 12 merit alone: B.Sc. (Hons./Hons. with Research) Physical Sciences, B.Sc. (Hons./Hons. with Research) Life Sciences, B.Sc. (Hons.) Community Science and B.Sc. (Hospitality and Hotel Administration).
They have a separate merit-based brochure. For 2026-27 the form closed on 10 August 2026, and the fee for HP bonafide candidates was Rs 1,300 (Rs 1,000 SC/ST/PwBD) for one programme, Rs 2,500 for non-HP candidates, and Rs 2,500 for the self-financed Hospitality programme.
How are CSKHPKV M.Sc. and Ph.D. admissions done?
Masters’ and doctoral seats are filled on ICAR test scores: ICAR AIEEA (PG) for M.Sc. Agriculture, M.V.Sc., M.Sc. Basic Sciences and M.Sc. Community Science, and ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF (Ph.D.) for Ph.D. programmes.
For 2026-27 the university asked candidates to apply for the ICAR tests on the NTA portal by 7 June 2026 and then fill in the CSKHPKV form. Seats are split 70:30 between HP bonafide and ICAR quota, with counselling at the Office of the Dean, Postgraduate Studies.
