HORTICET
The University was established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in June 26, 2007 at Venkataramannagudem, near Tadepalligudem in West Godavari District. It is the second Horticultural University in the country. Check more details about HORTICET from this page.

Eligibility Criteria of HORTICET
A pass in Diploma in Horticulture course from Dr. YSRHU. (Those who are going to complete the Diploma requirements in 2018-19 academic year can also apply, but submission of Final Memorandum of Marks-cum-Pass Certificate of Diploma in Horticulture is must at the time of Admission counselling).
Age Limit –The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission with an upper age limit of 22 years for all candidates and 25 years in respect of S.C. & S.T. candidates and 27 years in respect of Physically Challenged (Differently abled) candidates.

HORTICET Exam Pattern
The exam pattern of HORTICET is as mentioned below:
The question paper contains questions in Telugu Medium. Entrance test is for 2.00 hours duration and the question paper (Multiple choice objective type questions) consists of 200 multiple choice bits. The Syllabus prescribed by Dr.YSRHU to Diploma in Horticulture Course.
Reservation and Seats under HORTICET
Seats
There is a certain criterion for the seat reservation in the concerned undergraduate course. The total number of seats allotted to all the diploma holders is 15% of seats of B.Sc (Hons.) Horticulture that is 83 seats {47 (Govt. College seats) + 36 (Pvt. College Seats) = 83 Seats}.
Reservation
Reservation depends upon the State’s allocated candidates as well as the students from other states. The above seats will be allocated in the ratio of 85% for local candidates and remaining 15% seats will be treated as unreserved quota.
