HORTICET 2026 is the Horticulture Common Entrance Test of Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University (Dr.YSRHU), Andhra Pradesh. It fills 91 lateral-entry seats in the four-year B.Sc. (Hons.) The HORTICET 2026 test is over and the result is the next step; Dr.YSRHU has not announced its date yet. In 2025 the results came 15 days after the test, but the 2026 results are already later than that.

How to Apply for HORTICET 2026
The HORTICET 2026 application was offline and closed on 26 August 2026 at 4:00 PM. Candidates sent a printed form with documents and the fee proof to the Registrar, Dr.YSRHU, Venkataramannagudem, in person or by post. The HORTICET 2027 form is expected around July 2027, and the steps below are likely to stay the same.
Apply Online for HORTICET 2026
The HORTICET 2026 application window (7 to 26 August 2026) has closed.
- Download the HORTICET application form and information brochure from the Admission Notifications page of drysrhu.ap.gov.in.
- Fill in your name, Diploma ID number, date of birth, region (AU or SVU), category, study details from Class 6 to the diploma, address, email and mobile number.
- Choose one exam centre: College of Horticulture, Venkataramannagudem or College of Horticulture, Anantharajupeta.
- Fill in the option form for colleges (preferences 1 to 8). It must be sent with the application.
- Pay the fee online to the account of the Comptroller, Dr.YSRHU, or by demand draft in favour of the Comptroller, Dr.YSRHU, payable at Tadepalligudem.
- Attach the date of birth certificate, Class 10 and diploma marks statements, conduct certificate, caste or EWS certificate if any, three passport size photos and the fee proof, and send the form to reach the Registrar by the last date.

Forms that are incomplete, reach after the last date or come without a valid fee proof are rejected, and demand drafts are not returned. Dr.YSRHU says it is not responsible for postal delays.
Who can apply for HORTICET 2026?
You can apply if you have passed the Diploma in Horticulture course of Dr.YSRHU. Students finishing the diploma in 2025-26 may also apply, but they must show the final marks memo cum pass certificate at counselling.

Seats follow the Andhra Pradesh Presidential Order: 85% go to local candidates of the AU and SVU areas and 15% are unreserved. Candidates who moved from Telangana and claim local status must send a Form-III local status certificate from the Tahsildar.
What is the HORTICET 2026 exam pattern?
HORTICET 2026 is a 2-hour offline written test of 200 multiple choice objective questions in English, based on the Dr.YSRHU Diploma in Horticulture syllabus.

The brochure does not state marks per question or negative marking. The HORTICET 2025 results list showed scores with half marks, such as 31.50 and 48.50.

How are seats allotted after the HORTICET 2026 result?
Seats are allotted by HORTICET 2026 rank, the Presidential Order, the rule of reservation and the college options you gave with your form. Dr.YSRHU first posts a marks list, then a rank list and then a counselling notice; see the HORTICET 2026 result page for how to read them.
- The results PDF lists hall ticket numbers with the marks secured.
- A rank list with names follows. Ties are broken by the diploma OGPA and then by age, the elder candidate first.
- A counselling notice gives the date for manual counselling at Venkataramannagudem. In 2025 counselling was held on 8 October.
- At admission you submit original certificates: diploma pass certificate and marks memo, SSC certificate, community certificate, study certificates from Class 6 to the diploma, transfer certificate and special category certificates if any.
