Is there an entrance exam for Gujarat ITI admission 2027?
No. DET fills ITI seats in Gujarat on merit. Your Class 10 marks in the compulsory subjects are scaled to 700, and that score decides your merit rank. For example, 475 out of 650 becomes 511 out of 700.
Class 10 pass candidates get first preference even in trades that only need Class 7 or Class 8. If seats stay empty, Class 9, then Class 8, then Class 7 pass candidates are admitted on merit. Equal scores are separated by Maths marks, then Science marks, then date of birth, then name in alphabetical order.
ITI courses are skill-training courses in trades such as Electrician, Fitter or COPA. To compare trades before you register, see our guide to the best ITI trades.

Apply Online for Gujarat ITI 2027
Applications for Gujarat ITI 2027 are expected in May 2027.
- Open itiadmission.gujarat.gov.in and click Apply For New Registration. Fill in your personal and education details; a mobile number and email ID are compulsory.

If you forget your registration number, use the link for finding it on the portal home page and enter your mobile number and date of birth. The fees below apply in government and grant-in-aid ITIs and are paid only after you get a seat; self-financed ITIs set their own fees.

How do the Gujarat ITI merit list and seat allotment work?
Gujarat does not publish separate 1st, 2nd and 3rd merit lists. DET first releases a provisional merit list and then a final merit list with your general and category-wise merit rank. Seats are then allotted in online rounds.
- Check your merit number and marks in the provisional merit list after logging in. If something is wrong, get it corrected at the nearest ITI help centre within the objection window (26 to 29 June in 2026).
- Note your general and category-wise rank in the final merit list. DET also sends merit details by SMS and email.
- In Round 1 you get at most one seat, based on your merit and the order of your choices, with a provisional admission order. You can accept or reject the offer.
- To accept, report at the allotted ITI with your original documents and pay the caution money and tuition fee by the deadline. If you miss it, or your documents do not match the form, the admission is cancelled.
- Round 2 is open to new applicants, candidates without a seat and Round 1 admitted candidates who give online consent. A Round 2 seat automatically cancels your Round 1 seat. If you cancelled your Round 1 admission yourself, you must apply afresh.
- After Round 3, a reshuffling round, vacant seats are filled at the institutes. In 2026 this was a first-come-first-served round from 4 to 8 August 2026.
To see your merit rank or allotment result, log in through Candidate Login on itiadmission.gujarat.gov.in with your registration number and date of birth.
Who can apply for Gujarat ITI admission 2027?
You need to have passed the class the trade asks for. Entry levels range from Class 7 pass to Class 12 pass and, for a few courses, graduation. Many engineering trades need Class 10 with Maths and Science. The minimum age is 14 years, and the upper age limit is relaxed.
- Candidates from outside Gujarat need a domicile certificate from the competent authority. Without it, they can still take vacant seats at an ITI in the final round after the three online rounds.
- Divyang candidates need a trade suitability certificate from the Vocational Rehabilitation Centre (VRC), Ahmedabad.
- Documents checked at admission: marksheets and pass certificates, school leaving certificate, caste or category certificate (SC, ST, SEBC, EWS), non-creamy layer certificate for SEBC, Aadhaar or another photo ID, and ex-serviceman or disability certificate if relevant.
